Do not order from this company. I originally ordered a recliner and sofa. I needed the recliner for surgery. The recliner went on backorder and wasn't going to arrive prior to surgery date. No one from the store had the decency to notify me. Then, the sofa was scheduled to be delivered, they called the day before and confirmed delivery, morning of they called and said it will be arriving in 42 minutes. On the 42nd minute, they called and said they couldn't deliver .. damaged. The second delivery for the replacement sofa was made, they arrived and would not bring it thru my sliding glass doors.. .I am on the first floor maybe 4 ft. from ground, and they refused to lean it against the balcony railing and pull it into the living room from the patio. This is their customer service...... this company is extremely horrible. Go elsewhere. I would give them 0 stars, but had to select 1 star. read more

Worse experience of my life! On Jan 24th we went to the store and were told that the sectional we chose was on stock and that it would get delivered Saturday Jan 27th. Only half on my sectional arrived, went to the store, and told them what happened, salesman called me saying I would get it delivered Wednesday Jan 31st. No call on that day, I called then they said Saturday Feb 3rd, then today someone called me that until next week. I called very disappointed and person on the phone was rude and unapologetic! Straight up garbage. Spent 10k there on their 'high end' stuff and it's all junk. Electric recliner broke while under warranty. Got it fixed and found out it voids further use of the warranty. Got regular recliners that we never use in our spare room and they are peeling after barely being sat on. The stools we bought always need their screws tightened and they barely get used. The fixtures on the dresser have fallen out on multiple drawers. Do yourself a favor. Spend more on better stuff. read more

I'd give Value City Monroeville 0 stars if I could! To start, I purchased a $2500 3-piece sectional (including the protection plan) over a month ago, with delivery set for today's date. Just 20 mins before my delivery, I received a call from Value City, notifying me that 1 of my pieces came in damaged the day before, so, they were only sending me 2 pieces. (1) Why are you just now telling me 20 mins before hand of something you knew was damaged yesterday! I then get a delivery rescheduled for my 1 missing damaged piece, which is due to come next Saturday. Some 30 mins later or so, the delivery drivers arrive at my home with the 2 pieces that weren't damaged (or so I thought). The delivery drivers bring the two pieces in and immediately show me and tell me that 1 of those two pieces were damaged, and that they brought it to Value City's attention prior to them delivering it, and Value City advised them to send it to me anyways, NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! To add insult, the two pieces that arrived also don't connect- not sure if the wrong pieces were sent, but they hooks don't connect!!! I immediately called Value City Monroeville store, again, and asked for a manager. I can't remember the name of the man I spoke with, however, he offered to send me the 3rd piece (the one they know is damaged)- said it has a hole in it, but it can be covered with a cushion. Ummm excuse me?!? So, I spend $2500 and you want to send me something with a hole in it? That's your resolution? No! Absolutely not. Also, as mentioned previously, I have the protection plan, why would I accept something that has a hole in it? Unacceptable response! Unacceptable that the called me 20 mins prior to delivery, and unacceptable that they sent me a piece that was damaged! I spent $2500! Now, I need to call corporate and see about how to get a refund! On 2-15-2022, I had an incident with VCF's delivery driver damaging my fri. The store manger Ed got ghost on me, I had to call corporate office for help. Spent over $6,000 in the Monroeville store in the past 2 weeks, never again will I do business with VCF. The heck with VCF and Mr. Ed. When I tried to talk to duck & dodge Ed, VCF's phone person Sheally used the old catchphrase on me 'he's in a meeting' and 'he's on the phone'. The lies went on for over a week. Like I said, I called VCF's corporate office, matter is being taken care of as we speak. I have been noticing that a lot of these wannabe store managers are ball less and cowards who are afraid to address an issue outside of their comfort zone. I was moving to a new home. I set up the delivery date over a month in advance. The day before, I tried to reschedule. They wanted to charge me $99.99 to do so, it decided to get someone to be at the house. When the delivery guy came, he forgot part of my bed. He then needed to come again. At the second visit, discovered he brought a wrong item. He had to come a THIRD TIME! (All the while I had to arrange someone to be there because I wasn't living at the home yet and work A LOT of hours) after the third time, and a week later when I did finally move in, I discovered the need was built slanted feet up, head down. He came out (the same guy) a fourth time and told me they're was nothing he could do take it up worth VCF. for the 5th visit they sent someone else, but 15 minutes before the time window was over they called to reschedule because someone that works there was sick. I won't be going back there. I spent $4800.00 on a dresser and bed. Plus what I spent having to have someone here all those times. Only to be told that "that's just the way the bed is built. Worst experience ever. Don't get anything delivered they tell you they have it in stock, and you can have it in 2 days. You schedule a day they want everything out of the room to deliver and then, they call you a day before and say they don't have it. You have to wait another week. When I called customer service they were soooo rude and not helpful. The guy was cocky self centered and the rudest person I've had to deal with. With that customer service I don't know how they are even still in business. I canceled my couch and will take my business elsewhere, where thier not liars and actually care about their customers. I wish I could give them 0 stars. We ordered a dining room set on Black Friday. Our delivery date was originally set for February 6th and that got pushed to the 13th. Today they call to confirm delivery for this Saturday and the time but they said the time window was 3:45-7:45am which we thought was weird. So my husband calls, waits an hour and a half, and they tell him it now won't be delivered until April? Even though they just confirmed today it would be delivered in two days? This place is a joke. The communication from this store was horrendous. I don't see many bad reviews for some reason but employees told me they're extremely overwhelmed with delayed furniture and pushed back 60 customer's orders just in the one day I was in communication with them. This is all due to a "new distribution system" the company has "too much money in to back out of now." The frustration finally got to the point of totally cancelling our order after weeks of delays and lies. We purchased the couch a month before our planned delivery. The evening before our planned delivery that was stated on our receipt, I gave the store a call because NOBODY HAD REACHED OUT to schedule a time slot or give me any information whatsoever. When I called, I was informed that my furniture had not arrived from the warehouse and would be delayed. This blows my mind considering the merchandise was "available now" at the time of purchase a month ago. On that call, we scheduled for the following Thursday. Got the freight elevator reserved, took off work, no delivery. Called them Wednesday evening (again, no one had reached out to me so I had to be the one to call them), the couch had not arrived yet. Finally spoke to someone on the phone (I think his name was Todd) that was knowledgable and understanding of the frustration. From how I understood it, they just open the back of the truck every day and see if they got the furniture they should have (and mine was M.I.A). Todd helped me schedule delivery for the following Tuesday for 3 out of the 4 pieces of my couch because at this point I just needed somewhere to sit. On Tuesday afternoon, I REACHED OUT TO THEM (BECAUSE AGAIN, NO COMMUNICATION) and the order had been set to pick-up by someone in the store, so they had no delivery scheduled. I explained my frustration, the lack of communication, and my feelings that no one had done anything to be empathetic or attempt to make anything right. This manager was not the slightest bit concerned about my problems so I cancelled the order out of frustration. Value city furniture should not be continuing to sell furniture with hundreds of customers waiting on orders from months ago. I will never again support this company since they do not put their customers first. As I read the other reviews, I have to laugh...it's been the same experience from one to the next to the next.... It's like VCF goes out of their way to have people shop elsewhere. They should hang a sign that says "Go to Levin's", lol. So, basically mine is the same, although I knew better than to shop here. I only did because they had this really cute little bed for my daughter and I couldn't find anything like it anywhere. Bought the bed, set up delivery, then VCF shit the bed, in every stage of delivery. Delivery #1, they were so late we had to leave and no one was home. Delivery #2, delivered the chest of drawers, but no bed was on the truck. Delivery #3, delivered the bed, but not all the parts were on the truck. You know how people say a weather man is the only job you can have and be wrong 50% of the time...well that's a lie. I think the worst part is you can call and call and they don't pick up, or don't call back... It really is like they don't care. Once they have your money, it's like you're just a notch on their financial bedpost, one that probably don't have parts for. The one bright light in this story was the delivery driver of delivery 2&3. He went out of his way to make sure my baby girl had a bed, after being in the hospital for a month. For him I am grateful. I wish I could give you a ZERO. I have been buying furniture there for YEARS. This by far is the WORST experience I have EVER had. We go in to purchase living room furniture on 2/13. The first set we chose was not available until mid April so we went with our second choice that would be available for delivery on 3/9 per our sales person Joe. I then get a call saying its delayed until 3/17 and I explained what Joe told us. She changed the date to 3/13 which was Saturday and I was fine with that. Then this past Sunday we get a call its now delayed until 3/17 which would be fine had Joe not mislead us and the fact we moved into a new home and have ZERO furniture. So I called again and the manager was somewhere so said call back later which I did . No response. I emailed the corporate office with all the details, I get back "your furniture is scheduled to be delivered 3/17". REALLY .. That is how you respond. NO ONE CARE there and I would totally cancel my order if I didn't have to start over. You lost a long time customer and trust me I will tell ANYONE that asks or doesn't about your lack of customer service and the way you mislead your customers. read more

I will never buy from Value City Furniture again. Was supposed to get a couch and chair delivered today, which I was excited about given I don't have any furniture in my house and I was looking forward to finally having a place to sit, but it's 8 PM and still no delivery. Delivery window was originally 9:15-11:15 AM. The delivery driver called around 9 AM and said they couldn't fit my stuff on the truck so they would head out and make some deliveries, go back and load my stuff and then deliver. He said it shouldn't be too long after the original delivery window, but he'd know more in about an hour. I never heard back. I called the delivery services number twice and got a woman who was rude and flippant about the whole thing. She just kept telling me they'd call when they were on their way and said they would definitely deliver today. Finally, my husband called the store manager at 6:30 PM and was told our stuff was still sitting on the dock, but he would make it right. He called my husband back around 7:15 PM and said it was on its way, but 45 mins later, still nothing. Not even a courtesy phone call with an apology. I'll be calling tomorrow to cancel and request a refund. Local stores hate when people shop online, but at least when I order from Wayfair, it ships when it's supposed to ship and it delivers when it's supposed to deliver. You've lost a good customer. Peg board walls? Really? I felt like I was in Bargain Basement minus the bargains. The feel of the interior was not the only downer, most of the furniture was just overpriced for what it was. I saw the American Signature furniture coming in, but something tells me that no one but me was liking it. Why? Bought a couch and warranty. Spend over $3,000. The end recliner on my sectional broke. File a claim, Warranty company decides to replace the piece. They tell me to call the store. I called the store closest to me and they tell me I'm outside of their delivery area they won't be delivering it. The store that I bought myself a ad was closed. That isn't my fault. I shouldn't have to take time from work, rent a truck, find guys to drive two hours to pick up something that I spent extra money to warranty. And then I'd still have to get rid of the old piece. Yesterday VCF Delivery drivers came to my house with my furniture. I told the guys hang on I just need to put the dogs in the basement so they don't jump all over them. In the meantime my 17 year old daughter and 9 year old son were standing on the porch leaving for school. As they were going to get into the car, driver A stuck his tongue out to my daughter in what she felt was a sexual manner then driver B swore in front of my son telling driver A to "put this sh!t back into the truck". By the time I got back up from the basement the truck was driving away. Now this behavior is disgusting. I have never in all my supposed 5 star deliveries, that I paid extra for, experienced anything like this. I called the store as soon as they opened which was an hour and a half later and the manager was dismissive and rude. Telling me there is nothing they can do these men are sub contracted. He wouldn't even give me the name of the company they worked for. This whole thing makes my skin crawl, they have no idea who they are sending and quite possibly defending a serial rapist at this point. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. Issues related to delivery and timing are expected during these unprecedented times. However, the poor customer service I received was ultimately disappointing. Staff is unreasonable, rude, and lacks decency. I ordered a couch that was expected for delivery after a few weeks. I got a call a few days prior to delivery stating my chaise portion of my couch would not be in for another month. I consider myself to be a reasonable person and stated that was fine. The chaise portion of the couch is a separate piece and from my understanding the couch would still be functional without it (it's a floating chaise with ottoman). However, upon delivery, not only did I receive only half of my couch, but the legs were missing as well. I had to repeatedly call the store to get ahold of anyone, and when I did I was placed on hold for over 40 minutes more than once. Once someone finally spoke with me, I was rudely told that I agreed to this. I was misinformed and the associate gave no apologies or concern for the situation. I was told I would have to pay $120 to receive the legs for my couch, which was their fault. I could not believe it. After days of calling asking for a manager, he finally answered the phone himself. I believe his name was Tom, and he was very helpful. I told him what had happened, and he actually discovered that the other half of my couch including the chaise and ottoman, were available and it was all a misunderstanding. He arranged for the rest of my furniture to get delivered free of charge. I wish this was the end but it is not. I finally receive the rest of the items I ordered, but unfortunately pieces were damaged. When I called the store and spoke with Tom the manager again( after repeated attempts to get on the line with someone) he apologized and arranged for an exchange and delivery free of charge for October 31st. October 31st rolled around and I received a call to pick up my items. I called the store (time and time again) and finally got ahold of what identified themselves as a manager names Shelly. This person was a poor excuse for a manager and stated that I would have to pay another $120 for my items to be exchanged due to the damage on their end. It is now NOVEMBER 24th And this store has yet to live up to their promises. Paying full price for damaged items is u acceptable and bad business. When seeking furniture please don't even use this store as a last resort. Other value furniture locations around Pittsburgh are much better. It is worth the trip to go elsewhere. read more

Avoid this establishment at all costs. I had purchased a sectional here in January of 2019. By October, one portion of the seat frame had collapsed. While it was still under warranty, I called to have a service technician come out to assess the damage. He agreed it was failure of the unit and would call back in two weeks with a resolution. I never heard from VCF So I called them. The representative who answered the phone stated the service tech never entered the information and she has "no idea" what they plan on doing about it. She then told me someone will call me back in a day or two. I never received a call. One week later, I called and spoken to another representative who also informed me that nothing was entered into the computer and asked me to please hold. She came back on the line 5 minutes later and said they will have to come and pick up the faulty portion of the sectional and they will repair it in their service department--but when that will be "I have no idea". Someone will call me within a week to let me know. Again, no return call. I again call back this evening, 01/31/2020, nearly two months after the service tech visit and spoke to another representative. This was curtly informed me that the computer shows the service request as "CLOSED" and there is no further information she can provide me. I will have to "talk to the lady that orders the parts" but she is gone for the day and won't be back until Monday afternoon. Have a nice weekend... I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Once this is resolved to my satisfaction (and it will be, you can believe it) I will never again set foot into this garbage selling, incompetent employee establishment and I recommend, dear readers, that you avoid this place at all costs. read more

My positive review is completely due to one salesperson: Mona! She went above and beyond to help me locate a piece of wall art that was pictured in their spring flyer. As I don't live near Monroeville, I wanted to make sure the piece was in the store for me to see prior to making the trip. I called the store and was connected with Mona. Not only did she call me back promptly after searching the store (on a Sunday!) to tell me that they did NOT have the piece in stock, but she also ordered it for me with no obligation on my part. It came the following Friday as promised, and I drove to the store on Saturday. Mona greeted me promptly and showed me the piece. It was just as nice as I'd hoped, so this story has a happy ending. Even if I hadn't purchased this item, I sure would have given a 5-star review for the excellent service provided by this very professional salesperson. Less than a year of purchasing my sectional couch the seating/cushioning was no longer level.It became like a hump. I called the store and the only option i was given was to send someone out to look at it, then scheduled for pick up for that one piece of the sectional to have it restuffed. I pleaded to have swapped out & that was refused. Upon return it was no longer level (puffier) with the other pieces and I voiced that and nothing was done. Months later another piece has done the same thing. I put it off and another piece has done the same thing and avoiding dealing with the poor customer service i did nothing. Now it is a year later and unfortunately the store can now say oh well you are now past our store warranty "1 year". I was referred to the warranty company who then tells me that is not something they cover at all. Who then refers me to corporate for VCF. Well after wasting my time on the phone with corporate for them to tell me there's nothing they can do about it, try to call the warranty company back. I have a life I don't have time to sit on the phone for hours to not have my issues resolved, I am just having to take it as a loss. Just fyi, I don't have company and don't spend a lot of time sitting on my furniture, either way there is NO reason this should happen to furniture at any time and especially in this short span of time....VCF has poor customer service and they only sell the warranty to get bonuses, not actually to stand behind their product.Poor quality furniture. read more

So I ordered a fairly expensive bedroom suite for my son and when it was delivered they forgot all of the hardware and also the slats to hold the mattress but that's OK because they forgot the mattress also. So I called the store today and they have no clue that there was no hardware or slats for the bed missing from the previous delivery and made no apologies they deliver the bedroom suite without the mattress. The store manager Kelly I believe is her name wanted to argue with me that they did not send me a floor model, which I beg to differ and U am still working that out since it was all scratched up on the top part where the mattress sits and there was some scratches and stain missing on the front of the bed. I should have known better after a couple of friends told me they didnt have good experiences there. So far, I am NOT a happy customer. I purchased new furniture over 1 month ago and just received it yesterday, and it was WRONG. Had purchased a 3 piece sectional and one of the pieces was wrong facing the opposite direction as well as part of the material on the bottom of the couch needs repaired. The coffee table was not put together completely, and was not left at time of delivery. I called to speak to customer service, and Barbara was very friendly and stated somebody was going to call me last night, and I never received a phone call. This was the worst experience of customer service I have ever had! The only decent person was the sales man Ty. After a positive interaction with him I was excited for my new couch. All downhill from there, from parts not being available, to the wrong side chalice being ordered. The woman who called to verify delivery was rude and annoyed when I corrected the ordered part. Now today they send what I can only assume is first day employees to deliver my couch. They were on time but we're very sloppy and couldn't get the couch in the apartment. After only attempting the back door for ten min they left and made me sign a refused paper. Dealing with Value City is by far one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I will never buy anything from a Value City again and I suggest if you do, don't bother getting the additional insurance protection. It took over a year to get a spindle on a chair fixed and I've now been waiting 13 weeks to get a piece of glass fixed in our coffee table. Not only does it take forever, but there is absolutely no follow up unless I call multiple times in one day. Their customer service is horrendous - horrible attitudes and never know what their doing. Their service reps apparently do not communicate with the customer service either. I was told by customer service that a service rep would be out to put a new piece of glass in my table. After taking off work to be at my apartment on a weekday, the rep arrives and asks me what I needed. Needless to say, he didn't have a piece of glass with him and my table is still not fixed. read more

I do not recommend this place for anything. They didnt show up with my furniture when they were suppose to. i rescheduled and when they came my kids beds were ruined. the damage was so bad chunks of wood were missing. then they proceed to tell me they made him bring it and he didst want to because it was so bad. they back ordered my kids dressers didn't tell me. so now i still have no furniture for my kids and at this point we had to go else wear. then everything was wrapped normal for my bedroom furniture except the corner of my foot board it had about a entire roll of tape wrapped around it. everything looked good until i got to that piece. they will try to pull one over on you. when i took it off it had 2 big pieces of wood missing. i spoke with a manager and somebody from customer service they are both so rude i don't understand how they even have jobs. then as i continue to talk to this man he got mad because i complained so he hung up on me. im still waiting for my money to be returned. read more
