I really like this store. There's such a wide selection of cool things. For the most part it's well organized. I understand it's hard to keep a thrift store organized. Love it here! Some items are priced fairly, some are not. I scored on my first visit. Everyday of the week there's a colored coded tag either a discounted price. On Wednesdays it's the blue tagged items. I found a thigh length fur coat for $25 bucks, made in France in 1978 according to the label. I also purchased a vintage real suede purse for $4.10. It was a blue tagged item originally priced for $6.99. I went in searching for winter coats. I saw plenty, tried on 7, left with one but that's still, lots of options. I liked plenty of dresses, sweaters and shoes, none in my size unfortunately. The dressings rooms are closed but returns are welcomed with the receipt and within 14 days. I always come here first when I'm thrifting. There's a big parking lot, ample parking spaces. It's really easy to donate items, the drop off area is marked by cones and you can drop off just by driving thru if you want to. I always find cool puzzles and great kitchen stuff! read more

There are things I loved about this gigantic store and things that left me fuming as I walked out the door. My first rating was 3 stars; but given that I spent over $100 (not including the 25% off I got because it was a Thursday) and look forward to going back, I think 4 is fairer. New digs, so I need new furnishings. Decided to thrift shop for home decor and essentials before paying for new. Scored some really great deals! Like an ironing board for $5.99. Billy Squire greatest hits CD for $1.99. (No judgement!) Lots of baskets and containers for storage, new lampshades, a looks-like-new baking pan, and a bunch of other similar items. There are rows and rows and rows of household items, grouped by a top category (such as kitchen appliances), then subcategory (such as coffee makers. Bedding, then King sheets. Furniture, lamps. Etc. You get the idea.) Then there are categories for Wood Decor, Plastic, Metal, etc. Rows and rows of clothing are similarity grouped: Jeans, grouped by size. Shoes, books, purses, toys... everything. This makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for than at places that group by color. (What "color" does butter dish fall under??) Loved all that. Didn't like: 1) No fitting rooms. I wasn't shopping for clothing, but if I had been... I don't buy any garments without first trying them on. Covid, perhaps, but still... 2) To use the bathroom, you have to first find an associate to unlock the door. When a person was trying on a cart full of clothes in the bathroom, the associate said he is "not getting involved with that." Um... can you at least call for a manager, then? 3) Finally, there were 4-6 Self-checkout stalls and no wait. Literally, no one was checking themselves out. Great! I love checking myself out so I can take my time, ensure the correct price, and review whether I really want to buy something. So I begin. Then I hear a bellow (really, a bellow) from the lone cashier telling me, "You can't check out there! I need to check you out." I look around--is she talking to me? She was. I gather all the stuff I'd already rung up and get in the long line for the only cashier. At some point, a new cashier took over so I asked the original cashier--very politely--why I couldn't self-check. Because I had too much stuff, she said. Ok, I get that... but maybe there should be a sign? Maybe you could be less militant about it? As I'm in line, I see a guy try to ring up a guitar at the self checkout. Now there is an employee there who tells him he can't, he has to get in line for the cashier, too. He looks as annoyed as I. Finally it's my turn. I have a cart full. I feel bad because there's now a line of people behind me. No time to ruminate about my purchases or check prices. The new cashier is no friendlier than the original. She also seems annoyed. Maybe because she sees a line of people for her, while the self checkout lanes are empty. I don't get it. Seriously, I'm baffled. But I did get a nice head start on home decorating, so there's that. read more

I can find a lot of cool and unique things here. One time I had a cool vintage suitcase that I thrifted with a friend that stored my magazines and books. Some reasonable price clothing. They should remodel the dressing rooms and open them back up. Especially to hang hooks for bags and seating. read more

It's always a good time at value village. It can be hit or miss like most other thrift stores, but I have found some really great pieces of clothing as well as household items. Among them are a towel rack, brand new in the box, some clark's (wallabes) that were $5, and a host of other pairs of pants and dresses. I prefer this one over the other location near Eastern Ave. sometimes because the prices here are better. read more

Who in the world prices items there? The amount of times I've seen used clothing from places like Walmart, Target etc being priced only $1-$3 lower than that same garment brand new is mind boggling. That's in addition to more well known name brand items being ridiculously over priced. The prices have doubled. Items are often The same as, if not more than, what it will cost to purchase them new in a store. They added self checkout lanes. The barcodes don't scan. You have to punch everything in by an eight digit number. It takes forever. It's not worth it. The store is also an unorganized chaotic mess. This used to be such a great place to shop. I hope they get it together! read more

It isn't really that bad I mean some stuff is kind of overpriced like a necklace would be about 5$ and over but overall it is pretty good. The whole store is mostly filled with clothes but there is some books and jewelry there as well. Not as much jewelry as I hoped though. read more

Value Village, like most thrift stores in rough neighborhoods, is fairly filthy, and 95% of what they have in stock is pretty much junk. Fortunately, the store is very, very organized for a thrift store, and their stock changes often. They also go to great care to bag items that are part of a set, and they put nicer/rarer/collectible items behind the counter, for display, with a higher price. That keeps the item(s) from being damaged, or stolen. I didn't have any luck on my visit, but when I go back, I'll go closer to their opening time, and see if I can score something. Tip: Bring hand sanitizer. Lots of it. read more

This Value Village is spacious, has a good variety of items, and a good selection (cool finds here!). My only gripe is that it is on the pricier side, as far as thrift stores go. I'd probably come back, since I had good luck with what I found and the staff was friendly, but I wouldn't expect to get steals or great deals necessarily. read more

Favorite thrift store in the area so far. Found two Liz Claiborne skirts (already dry cleaned!) for $9 and an authentic leather $2 fanny pack. Prices were much better than I've seen at other thrift stores in the area, and there's additional 25% off on Monday's and Thursday's. I'll definitely be back to this location! read more

This is prolly my fave Savers/Value Village location in the area. Large store, always bustling, lots of good finds at cheap prices. They have an extensive shoe and handbag section. Jewelry here is usually a bust, lots of books, can occasionally find a good vinyl find (husband collects records), lots fo women's clothes of course and there are several dressing rooms to try things on before you buy (reccommended). If you are into thrifting this place should definitely be on your list of places to check out. read more

This is a pretty great Value Village, even though I groan every time the spouse asks if I want to go to the VV in Brooklyn. There is no shortage of tacky tchotchkes to clutter up... I mean decorate your abode. The books are a great deal and it's the best organized book section of any thrift store I've seen. I've found great books that fit my personal and professional interests and walked out with a stack of them for $4 because they were 50% off on Monday. As most thrift stores it's predominantly clothes. I don't really mess around with that here, but I've noticed they do have a small vintage rack. Nothing quality, lots of scratchy polyester and a handful of old school nurse uniforms. I'm sure if you dug through the racks you could find some cool treasure. The furniture is all kind of beat, maybe the good stuff gets picked up quickly, but the stuff that is left is in such poor condition that I'm surprised they accepted it let alone put it out and priced it the way they did. As with any VV, the pricing is always uneven. You can find a steal for almost nothing and they have some real crap sitting behind the counter with an unrealistic price tag. The hunting and possibility of finding something great is all the fun though! read more

The prices are insane . I saw multiple items that still had the tags on it from the other store & was marked higher then the stores price. 8 dollars for a Barbie doll with no clothes and matted hair. Then if u want bags when u check out u have to pay for them to . I used to donate a lot of stuff here but after seeing what they are charging ppl not anymore . This place is disgusting. It had a horrible selection. The clothes were dirty, not on the hangers properly, if they were on the hangers at all! The people who work there obviously don't know the difference between cardigans and sweaters, or are too lazy to put things back where they belong after the customers put them there. The customers... I won't ever take my eyes off my children there if I were you. I was afraid when my daughter walked off to look at the DVD section and some man was staring her down! Then checking out, an associate walked away and the associate ringing us up was friendly. It actually used to be one of my favorite thrift stores and I didn't mind traveling far or the surrounding neighborhood which leaves much to be desired. Tried this place one more time. Big mistake. Prices have skyrocketed for items that they receive for free. No plastic bags; buy a paper bag for $0.10 each. Forget about taking a cart with heavy or awkward items to your car. First cashier just shrugged her shoulders. I said I wanted my money back as I could not carry them to my car. Said that wasn't possible. Got a manager. She helped me to take the items to my car, but seriously, a simple sign would have worked. Also of note, my points have disappeared from my club account. I've not received any type of discount in awhile except a coupon from donating items or their discount day. And so many items without tags. I get why they won't sell it, somewhat, but still annoying. Really annoying. I'm done with Value Village at this location. Terrible service, dirty, kids running everywhere, items need better organization. Skip the headache. Holy cow!! This place is really great. The selection of womens' clothing is immense. I'm actually going back tomorrow so I can get at it again. The dressing room had a nice large mirror in it, which was very good. Tomorrow I plan to pick up several sets of twin sheets, jeans and shorts for my teenage son, and hopefully some cute skirts and sleeveless tops for summer. read more

As a certified thrifta-holic, I LOVE this VV. It's not too crowded, compared to the VVs on New Hampshire avenue and University Boulevard, and I never walk away from here without a bunch of really good finds. I stay stuntin' in my $5 dresses, $3 shirts and what have you. This VV is definitely worth the 30 mins drive from Laurel. I will continue to visit this place. read more

Just like any thrift store, you have to go often. Their sale days (25% off) are Mondays and Thursdays. Thursdays you have to have a special store card to get the discount. And just like any thrift store, you can always ask if they can give you a better price on something. I visit this store at least once a week and do not find it filthy, like someone commented. It can be frustrating to find an item that you want to buy in a bag with a bunch of stuff you don't want to buy. They will not separate things for you. They are strict with that. I have been able to get them to price something for me that doesn't have a tag (ask for a manager) but it's not always possible. All in all, a huge thrift store that offers a great selection on all things. Highly recommended. read more

Are you kdding me?! This place is great! We frequent the VV often around Halloween/Christmas time in order to make our costumes and find a sweet, ugly Christmas sweater. A majority of the time we are very successful. They always have a ton of stuff to look through, it's always pretty organized, and the people that work there are very helpful. read more

My family and I visited the Brooklyn Park Value Village on June 16, 2020, around 3 pm. After walking around the store, I picked up a small green caddy off of one the back -walled shelves in the toys section of the store and an all-in-one brown-colored 4-5 item body massage package (priced at $7.99) that was on a table/stand in the home and houseware section in the store. I stood in line and I went to the first cashier that was closest to the front entrance of the store to be waited on. The Cashier was a young Caucasian woman, in her early-mid twenties with dark brown glasses and was wearing wide-framed glasses. I placed the small green caddy on the cashier's counter first then the all-in-one brown-colored body 4-5 item massage package on the cashier's counter. The Cashier picked up the small green caddy and noticed that there was no price tag on it but the small greed caddy did have a scanner tag on it. The cashier said, "It does not have a price on it so you cannot purchase it". I said to the cashier that "I wanted it. The Cashier said to me that "The Production Team did not tag it and is responsible for pricing ". I then asked to speak to a Supervisor and the Cashier replied, "I am the Manager and I can not ring this up without a price. The Cashier placed the small green caddy on the other side of her. I told the Cashier that I did not want the all-in-one brown-colored body 4-5 massage package. The Manager said "O.K" and placed the all-in-one brown-colored body massage package on the other side of her and My family and I walked out of the store. read more
