This store is my ultimate thrifting spot in the area. I've found some of the best treasures here and in the connecting store. It's absolutely huge and has every section you could think of. Come in with a plan or you'll be overwhelmed! There are no changing rooms and while there are bathrooms last time I went in they were so dirty they were unusable. Some items like hats and belts are sorted by men and women but are kind of unisex. If you go on busier days it will be more crowded and messy. Mondays and Thursdays have 25% off sales and are busy. Weekends are busy as well. They are always putting out new items throughout the day. There are no changing rooms, so wear something close fitting so you can try clothes on over what you're wearing. Mothers Day 3:30 pm I thought it would be a good idea to thrift on a major women's holiday. The aisles were open and less crowded. So I guess my experiment worked out. There are multiple shops like a flea market in between two thrift stores. One side is Value Village the other is Unique Thrift. You will need at least 2 hrs minimum to find something. The prices are too high for me . Idk about you but I'm paying 29.99 for a used dirty Talbots wrap dress. I found 2 Missoni travel cases and called it a day. During a jewelry purchase, I requested to use two survey coupons in separate transactions. The employee, who identified herself as a manager (Danielle), made unnecessary remarks and later stated that I should be ashamed of myself for spending my son's Social Security benefits. This comment was unsolicited, personal, and entirely unrelated to the transaction. I did not disclose financial information. When I requested an apology through another manager, it was refused and the statement was denied. Remarks referencing a customer's Social Security benefits are inappropriate and raise concerns regarding compliance with customer conduct standards and nondiscrimination policies. This matter warrants corporate and HR review. "Additionally, I observed Danielle instructing customers to leave bags behind the jewelry counter, though my understanding is that this location does not have a bag-check policy." The prices are ridiculously low, and for us seniors (generously defined as 55+), you get an additional 30% off on Tuesdays. You can even exchange stuff within two weeks - you just need to pick out some new items and bring it all to the desk. I popped into this Value Village randomly and noted there's a bazaar located within this Value Village. It seems as though one may want to have time on their hands when coming to this location. It was a little overwhelming for me given all of the different things to explore. But this thrift store gets a bit a lower rating due to the pricing disparities. I found big price swings on items that were very similar. I also found that some of the items were overpriced to be in a thrift store. I did find a couple of cool things but the pricing is a bit of a turn off. Happy hunting! read more

I have been a loyal customer and donor to Value Village for a long time, but after this experience, I will not be returning. While waiting patiently in line with my six-year-old child, an employee directed me to the self-checkout. She began scanning my items while another customer's transaction was still active, which caused confusion and errors. When I politely tried to explain the situation and mentioned that I wanted to use my membership account, the manager (Danielle) was called over. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the manager became rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. She spoke to me disrespectfully in front of my child, told me to go back in line, and escalated the situation by making a threatening remark, saying she would "jack me up in front of my child " ( her exact words). To make matters worse, she told my child to "shut up" using profanity. I was shocked and deeply disappointed by how we were treated. No customer--especially in front of their child--should ever be subjected to threats, disrespect, or that level of unprofessional behavior. The manager ultimately refused to complete my transaction. This experience was unacceptable, and I will be following up with corporate to request a formal investigation. I hope this location takes accountability and ensures no other customer is treated this way. read more

I've shopped here many times and found some really great clothes. My recent visit this weekend with my daughter felt aggressive. At every aisle we were met with shoves by the staff in every aisle. I understand the need to keep the shelves stocked but the Fourth time I was shoved by a staff member we chose to check out & leave. I get it, thrifting can mean close contact with other shoppers but it was obvious I was in the way of these ladies trying to restock. Maybe restock before clients arrive, but shoving the shoppers out of the way isn't particularly friendly. See ya, we have other options. read more

...here. Like I said, this is almost a mirror image of the other thrift store. It is almost like it is a set of conjoined twins. This side seemed to have more items, or at least it seemed that way to me. Getting into this portion of the setup felt a little more trying because of a funneling effect. You might have to wait for a traffic jam to clear before you can venture forward to search your heart's desire. I did a quick check over the furniture items they had, nothing that I could easily fit into my vehicle, so I had to pass. I also made my way to the houseware section to take a quick peak at what they might have had. Again, like the counterpart, you are rushed through the many aisles by other customers determined to outmaneuver your for a bargain. If not in the right mindset you can easily give up and find yourself walking for the front door. read more

It's hard to deny the value of having TWO thrift stores (and an alley-style curiosity shop situated in the center) smashed together in one location. As a Big/tall guy, I usually find most of my pants finds on the right side, Shirts and accessories left side (roll aways/ carriers etc). Most items are reasonably priced. It'd be nice if I could find belts my size, but that's virtually impossible everywhere. Great store. 4.5 even. I Generally Don't Have Issues At This Location . But This Past Tuesday 4/23/24... I Was At The Boutique Counter For Ten Minutes Waiting To Acknowledged. I Went To The Main Casher Area To Ask For Assistance. The manager (Romeo) Asked An Older Lady Worker To Come And Assist Me. When She Came ,She Proceeded Wait On Two Gentlemen Who Came After Me, When I Said Something To Her She Claimed She Didn't Know. Complete Lied To My Face When The Manager Clearly Pointed Me Out. So She Waits On The Older European Gentleman,Gives Him An Item To Take To Self Check. Then Proceeds To Wait On A Asian Gentleman,Still Placing Him Ahead Even Though I Was There First. She Finally Shows A Watch In The Case I Was Looking To Purchase But Instead Of Letting Me Take It To Self Checkout Like She Did The Other Gentleman,She Want To Walk It Over,Like She Didn't Trust Me. Value Village and Unique are owned by the same people, just 2 different thrift stores right next to each other. Since I was here in 2009, things have changed! There's now a flea market looking place in-between both stores. Also, you have to exit out of the doors of one store and enter the doors of the other store. It used to be where you can just walk over to the other side. Everything else seems to be the same. Both stores are HUGE. Lots and lots of clothes. They probably made 2 stores because there's just too many clothes for 1. The racks are always full and the store associates are always restocking quickly and never get in your way. They're like thrift fairies quietly putting more cute options on the racks for you. This thrift store has very nice selections, high-priced clothing at very affordable prices. A lot of clothes I bought still had the tags on them. I'm talking $58 Banana Republic top for $4. Never worn. Tags still on. That's a steal. Since COVID they don't allow you to try on clothes in the dressing room anymore. Because of this, they have a 14-day return policy where you can try on at home and exchange if you want. This sounds good BUT you have to find an item of clothing that's the EXACT amount of what you're returning. They don't give money back. Like ZERO money back. Also, you can exchange your items at either store no matter which store you purchased your items from. Just keep your receipt! Overall pleasant experience. There's enough space to where even though there's a bunch of people you still have your own breathing room. The lines can get long at times, but if that happens just go look for more stuff while you wait lol. Mondays they offer 25% off everything in store. Tuesday's is Senior Day (55+) and they get 30% off. They also offer deals on holidays. read more

My dad and I went to this place looking for a night gown for my aunt. We arrived at the place and I help my dad with his wheelchair. He went up the ramp but, there was a door blocking his way. The worker did come out and fix that for us. I do appreciate that! As we enter the store you see flashing lights for a store on the right and then the thrift store on the left. We went left first, they had signs saying "women, men, houseware, etc". The employees do know the store! If you need to know where something is, just look for a lime green vest and they will make sure you get to that item! The prices are pretty reasonable for what you want. read more

I use to like shopping there, but the fitting rooms have been closed for over 3 years. They claim it's because of covid but the restrictions have been lifted everywhere. I think they just don't want to pay anyone to monitor it, but they are losing money. Vallue Village is on the left side of the building (old Ames store for old timers). Unique thrift is on the right (see that review). I love looking for treasures. I always start on the left side. I bring my own Koodie wipes and shopping bags since I refuse to pay for a plastic bag that will rip before I get to my car. I suggest using an IKEA bag or a giant plastic bag from the container store. I fold them tightly in my purse and use them at checkout. You can schlepp your bags to the car and then visit the other side of the store or check your bag in the middle of the store. I put my claim check by my credit card to prevent forgetting I checked a bag. My favorite finds have included a $200 Redskins winter long coat for $19.99, a redskins $69 leather jacket for $29, a pink QVC $79 jacket (new) for $6 and my favorite backpack purse that I frequently use. The stores have increased prices but they have also improved the layout, organized categories much more efficiently and taken time to clean the floors. The cheapest days are Mondays (25% off to all) and Thursdays (25% off with your VIP card. There are special extra savings days but they are the crowded with longer register lines. I sometimes prefer a non sale day where I don't trip over anyone. The most popular sales days are more tolerable early in the morning. I frequently donate back items I no longer use. It is convenient and easy to pull up to a curb and quickly receive a donation slip. Keep an eye on your purse. If I am sorting through a long row of items on hangers, I will keep my purse on my shoulder and not in the cart. Most of the employees that monitor the lines will allow you to take the entire cart into the dressing room. That makes much more sense if you are trying on 15 items. A $4 pair of jeans is only a bargain if it fits. At Halloween you can get brand new items cheaper than those pop up stores that only sell costumes for a month. Everything gets marked 50% off (sometimes more) after Halloween. I love the treasure trove of possibilities here. I am always proud when someone compliments my handbag and I'll say how little I paid for it. Bring hand wipes or gel! My ratings are on the bargains. The employees can be awesome or indifferent. Many either don't understand or pretend they don't know what you are saying. There seems to be a force field that prevents employees from seeing or hearing you while they are returning clothes to the rack. read more

I needed some lamps for the basement so I was told the best place to get them is from the thrift store and that happened to be close to where I live, i have always wanted to go there and finally did. It's very big store it has everything you need to buy, if you need random kitchen stuff or some gears used but clean this place is for you and it's dirt cheap. The workers here are nice butbthe check out guy, I think he was Indian was a little rude, maybe he's having a bad day, but who cares. read more

Some background: I wear jeans a lot and I am incredibly picky about them. Mid-waist, dark blue, actual denim, and regular or boot leg or get out. We've been looking at this place (which turns out to be two places) for years and decided to waddle through here after a visit to Jewel of India. After a few minutes I had a beautiful piece of wool fabric that is big enough to make a skirt and a jacket (or pants and a jacket). On my way to checkout I decided to check the jeans and in less than a minute I had a great pair that fits perfectly. It was also fun to wander through the aisles and wonder what things were or laugh at things we remembered from our childhood. I also found it to be less chaotic than the average Marshalls or TJ Maxx, so that was nice. I will definitely be going back. read more

I am a just extremely disappointed because I was so excited to come here and check it out until I was told I can not try on clothes but instead buy them and return them if they do not fit. I've shopped at this store for years and unfortunately a revengeful manager accused me of stealing after I paid for an item, even though I have proof of purchase. The production manager lied. I asked him to file a police report on the theft and he refused to respond. The general manager refused to hear my side and I politely left. How can you accuse someone of stealing with no proof and also yell at the to get out while being aggressively in their face. The gm completely wouldn't listen to me. This place is a thrifter's paradise. You could spend literally an eternity here. Thrift, eat, and thrift some more. Yes, please! That's right, once you finished in one side, grab a bite to eat next door (cheap tacos!) and keep thrifting on the next side! There isn't much difference between the two; I always wind up spending at least $50 on either side. The clothes are pretty clean sans holes and stains (avg t-shirt price 3.99; blouses 6.99). Glassware can be chipped, so be careful. Lots of Pyrex! The prices are getting steeper and steeper and sales people are getting wiser about brands and trends, so those clutch finds are becoming infrequent. However, if you go on a Monday, they're offering 25% off clothes and there's a frequent buyer's club card (ask for it). Unfortunately they don't use the app that's accepted in NJ/NYC. read more

I've picked up the coolest things along the way, met wonderful people while shopping and also had my share of frustrations (e.g. lines on sale days, rude people nearing running me down with their cart, etc.), dirty bathrooms, etc. All that said, it's worth the cons because I have saved hundreds of $$ over the years and managed to walk away with quality items. Whether you're looking for clothes, shoes, house items, books, etc., you will find amazing things here. Ok I'm gonna say this right now... I have no idea how to review a thrift store. I've been thrifting for 10 years and I don't know how to assess them. How do you know if a thrift store will be good? Bad? Dirty? All I know is that my friend's mom used to pack us into the minivan and drive us to the "rich" side of Providence because the Salvation Army there had nice bags. ANYWAY - when I went to this particular Value Village, I found exactly what I was looking for. I needed an inexpensive coffee table and I got one for $7. Here are some observations I made, but who knows - maybe when you go in a week it'll be different: - This VV had the ubiquitous thrift-store-old-person-toilet-thing so that's good, if you're looking for one - The dinner plate selection was the most sorry-ass sight you'll ever witness - I thought it was standard to have bins of mismatched forks, knives, and spoons. VV was like, "Nope, you are getting a matching set of cutlery. We bag it. And you pay $5." read more

I really, really like this place. There is a cheap retail bazaar on one side (haven't given it much time). The other side is a massive, well-stocked, organized, clean thrift store with decent prices. I don't always understand how they choose prices, but that just makes it better when you get something especially nice for especially cheap. I moved to Takoma Park in the spring from Florida. Everything was fine, but I needed various things for my new apartment. Extension cord with 3 sockets on one end? $2. New coffee table to put a TV on? $20. Best of all, as winter set in I was able to buy scarves, gloves, hats and a winter coat for cheap. I really think this place has everything you need. If you can't find what you're looking for one week, try again next week. Their stock moves quite fast, and it's just a matter of time before you get what you want. read more

This is the left side of the two-for-one thrift store stop that is a must if you are really searching for specific costume or craft pieces! They also have tons of kitchen and home goods in addition to their racks upon racks of clothes. If you are patient and do the digging, you can always find at least one gem to buy! Again, as with the other side I only last about 45 minutes before I succumb to sneezing. Be sure to wash your hands and blow your nose if you're doing any deep searching! read more

Absolutely massive - I was not prepared for how large this place was. A few good steals but mostly Goodwill type prices. Weird organization - glasswares, for example, were spread out among 4 or 5 aisles amongst other decor, rather than being put together. I didn't even really try to look through the shoes or clothes - it was too overwhelming. I wouldn't make a special trip out here, unless you know what you're looking for and have lots of time on your hands. read more
