I called around to 4 different appliance repairs companies before finding Michael at The Appliance Team, and he was the only one who was able to come by on the same day without charging for an emergency visit. He showed up only a half an hour into the 2 hour window that he gave me, with a 20 minute heads-up call to make sure I was home. Super courteous and friendly, extremely professional. He was able to quickly diagnose my fridge, which had sadly reached the end of its life. But Michael was able to give helpful advice on what to look for in a replacement fridge, including brands to avoid, styles that are most energy efficient, and even local stores that he likes. He also gave me some helpful tips on how to best take care of my dishwasher and washing machine. Seriously a great experience within an overall stressful day. I will absolutely recommend this company to all my local friends and family and won't hesitate to call them again should I ever need them.

We were first quoted $295, but after the wrong part was installed, the cost jumped to $498. We ended up paying $692 total for what should've been a straightforward fix. Even after the final repair, the oven was misaligned and leaking heat. Management refused to take responsibility or offer meaningful compensation--just a future diagnostic credit, which we don't need. Not a company that stands behind its work if something goes wrong.

I watched a Youtube video on how to do it myself, ordered the part I needed online at a discount, and then realized I had no idea what I was doing. After watching the video again, it was definitely something I could do, but could possibly take all day or more. Someone with experience could probably be done in less than an hour. I weighed my options and called around to some places for quotes. Some of them wouldn't even do the job unless they provide the parts... I know that scam. Others were offering reasonable quotes for the job, but then would mention a service fee, travel fee, or some other variable that could make it $30-$70 more. I had left a voice mail for Atlantic and when I got a call back, they already had a quote ready of $95. I thought for sure she was about to hit me with a menagerie of additional fee's like everyone else, but that was it... $95 flat. They had an appointment a couple days later so I booked it right away. The repair guy arrived on time and went straight to work. He did a great job and worked very quickly. I ended up having to switch out a power cord on the dryer and hook everything up. I should have asked for a price on that because he rounded it up to $150 total for the whole job, but other places were quoting more than that for the original repair alone. At the end of the day, I still saved over $100 from buying my own parts and using Atlantic Home Services for the labor.

The Repair: GE clothes washer ~10 years old, not draining and getting stuck on pause He came in and listened to what was going on and then decided to crawl underneath to get a closer look. He deduced that the drain pump wasn't working. After pulling it out he opened it up and discovered that the pump didn't feel right and showed me his findings. He ordered the part and would not accept payment until the repair was complete. A couple of days later, part in hand and first thing in the morning he shows up and puts the pump in place, and WaaaaaaLa! He put the washer through all the setting and showed me that it was working. Between both days, he probably spent an hour and fifteen minutes total. Great to have a working washer again! Oh, and not spend a bunch of money on a new machine.

I scheduled with Becca and canceled tomorrow's 911. Glad I did. Cody came and found the problem immediately but it required a part he'd get, so off he went and later came with the part and fixed that leak so we were making ice again but before he left he tried the water and that too would leak.
