I brought my car to Glisson's for an oil change a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I was driving (long…read moredistance) and started smelling burning. I pulled into a gas station and found the oil was basically empty. I was surprised, as the oil change was so recent. I inspect further and find the oil filter has a major gash in the corner ... with oil stains around the gash. I add 2 quarts of oil and watch the filter. Sure enough, a drop of oil starts to form on the gash, eventually dripping. My question is: how could this have happened? The gash was way too big and obvious to not be noticed (on the edge where you grip w your hand). Did they knowingly install an obviously damaged oil filter? If so, why?? One theory (and this is only a guess, but I'm otherwise struggling to hypothesize a reason to give Glisson the benefit of the doubt here) -- I remember when I brought my car to them, I was under the weather, so as a courtesy to make sure I didn't spread whatever I had, I wore an N95 mask. The person at the shop looked at me weird like I was their political nemesis, so I explained that I was wearing it bc I was under the weather and didn't want to infect anyone else, but that didn't seem to change their disposition at all. Again, this is just a guess, but I truly cannot fathom why they would have installed a visibly obviously damaged oil filter on my car. (If someone can provide a valid hypothesis, I will delete this review.) Either way, my engine may have extensive damage due to driving without oil to the point it started burning. Arrggghhh.

Robert greeted me and took all my info. When I mentioned I wanted the cheapest oil change he explained why I couldn't do it in this new car. Apparently I needed to use synthetic or part synthetic which was more expensive than I was used to paying. After he explained everything that was going to be included, we found a coupon online and I was in. I opted to wait in the waiting room so they could do a free vacuum on my carpets. The waiting room was nice. Comfortable chairs, complimentary drinks, and tv. He told me it would take about 20 min but I'm pretty sure it was less than that. Although I had sticker shock at first, they told me I can come in anytime for free fluid top off and tire fills. Their customer service was great, I didn't have to wait long like other places, and the online coupons make the price pretty comparable.

The next morning, I had to check out of my hotel so I came to G and V to wait. One of their lovely staff members gave me a ride to a local diner and even picked me up after!
