Got oil change and ended up paying over $200 to have their errors corrected. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

I went to the valvoline instant oil change and they did a horrible job, they did my oil change and then I ended up parking on 1 of my customers house and when I found out my truck was dripping oil from underneath. I check it out and they spill oil all over my truck and underneath, took it to make them clean it up and not even that they tried to clean it up but very poorly, not professional for what it seems, they don't care about spilling oil all over your car. Ethan was really nice but there is other people there that needs to care more about this kind of things. read more

My 1st experience at this location. I had a Groupon coupon so I saved a few dollars on the oil change but found out it wasn't worth it. After driving only 150 miles the undercarriage cover partially fell off while we were driving, almost caused us to have an accident. Apparently it had not been secured correctly. We made it to our destination and my husband removed the part dragging on the road. Now I have to have find someone to replace it, the money I saved with the oil change won't even come close to covering the cost. I won't go back. read more

Went to take the Jeep in for the first oil change and I was told that it needed "fully synthetic" since it was a 2020. Unfortunately they did not disclose that to me until it was time to pay. It turns out that the jeep also takes conventional. So I was pretty much scammed into paying for a more expensive oil change. At least they were generous enough to give me $10 off hence the 2 stars instead of 1. read more

I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life. I took my truck in for an inspection. The inspection only took a few minutes because my truck is a 1994 model and does not require an emissions test. I was told the truck was ready and the technician gave me the inspection report. The technician had entered an incorrect odometer reading. My truck only has 49132.9 miles on it but the report said there were 4911329 miles. I told him that this had to be corrected. He told me that I was wrong. He then told me to get in the truck and see for myself. This is a one owner truck.....I think I would know how many miles are on it. Besides, how many F150's with almost 500,000 miles are actually still running? I had to explain to this young man that he had left the decimal point out when he recorded the mileage. He then went to make the correction. He made the correction and I gave him my debit card. He put the card in the card reader and left. He was gone for a few minutes and the card reader started beeping very loud. He came back and gave me my card. Then he told me my card was declined. I told him that it wasn't declined, that the transaction was cancelled because he left the card in the reader to long. He then told me to stop being a dick. I was in shock! I told him that I would never come back to this location. He then said that I was never asked to come there in the first place. I asked him why Valvoline just mailed coupons to me if that was the case. I have been to this location before with this same truck for an inspection and received good service. I recently had my oil changed at the Randolph Rd location, great service. Been using Valvoline products for over 30 years and will continue to do so. As far as the oil change stores go I will never return. There are way too many other places to get an oil change without being treated so badly. read more

Normally I go to havoline in Mint Hill. But they were packed and so decided to come to valvoline. Place is professional amd.clean people were nice But it just took to long to complete the oil change. Other than that if you have time good option. read more

We got an oil change and inspection on Saturday, 5/05/18 at the Lawyers Road in Mint Hill location. For a Saturday, I was surprised there wasn't a line and we got right in. I was disappointed that a tire rotation was not included in the very expensive oil change price of $80. Since I also got an inspection, they needed to get inside my car. One of the mechanics left a black oil footprint on my brand new beige car mat (These custom mats cost $100!) They did apologize and attempted to clean it up. The stain was not completely gone, though. It was still wet from cleaning which attracted more dirt and got worse. I understand accidents happen, but in the future, you guys should put down paper or plastic to protect the mats if you are going inside the car. I didn't want to cause a fuss when I was there because everyone was really nice. I will go somewhere else next time. read more

I use VIOC mainly because I have a company car (Holman fleet vehicle) and they take care of the direct billing etc. I brought my car in for an oil change and annual NC inspection and when I drove out, the bill was for $200. I understand all the items they replaced were approved by Holman, but I was not asked about any of the additional items (wipers, air filter). I usually replace my own wipers because $57 for 2 generic wipers is a little absurd. I also noticed that the check box on the receipt says the tires were all at 35psi, but I never saw them touch any of my tires. The monitor in my car showed the psi was 30 on all 4 tires on my ride home. I just think it is a shame that you take advantage of fleet vehicles since I'm sure the approval for work is pretty easy. Shame on me for not being clear about any extra services they will perform, but shame on VIOC for taking advantage of the fleet vehicles. I can only imagine this is a pretty common occurrence. read more

Usually I do my own oil change, but I tried this place because I had a stripped oil plug/bolt on my hands...wasn't sure they could take it off...the person that was servicing my car wasn't either...first they checked the usual stuff, tire pressure, fluids, air fliter and then got to changing the oil...the guy tried with a channel lock...no luck, saw him struggling...I asked if he had a vise grip...he didn't so I pulled out mine...I tried at home, but since there was little ground clearance it was hard to get a good grip without being completely underneath the car...after a few seconds, he got the bolt off...before he was thinking about plugging it back up with the same bolt after the job was done, I handed him a new one...he said, "ohh, you came prepared..." 1 2 3 ...it was done...like the A Team, says, "I love it when a plan comes together!" also, the air filter was somewhat dirty, but I wasn't pushed to replace it...to my standards it was, but the guy said he seen a lot worse, so it was clean to him...said I could go 2 more oil changes before replacing it... the cost of the oil change was in the middle...reasonable...$39.99...I don't know how the places that charge $19.99 make money...doing it at home costs me $15... will return to this place if I need any other work done in the future... read more

I came here a while back and didn't have the best experience. I decided to try again and I'm so glad I did because the service today was AWESOME! Madison and Alisha were super helpful, honest, and transparent. It was awesome to see two women in a field where it's predominantly men and they both knew what they were doing! Unlike other places I've been to in the past, they showed me everything they were doing. She explained to me things that most other mechanics would just talk about and assume I understood. I am new to the area and will be SURE to return here for all my car service needs. If you are ever in the area, you should definitely stop by! I visited the Vavoline location at 9020 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227 on 11/5/17 around 11:30a.m. As I was leaving the location, my truck cut off at the red light. I didn't think anything of it because I know that I need to get my throttle body cleaned again. The truck immediately started and I continued to travel towards Matthews Mint Hill Rd. My truck began making a loud rattling sound and then abruptly cut off. The "check oil level" light and "engine oil pressure" light began to blink on an off. I've never seen this particular light before, so this worried me. I cranked the truck again and tried to make it home so that I could inform Vavoline of what was going. I didn't have my cell phone because I didn't plan to be gone long. My truck cut off again on Willgrove Mint Hill Rd. I walked to the house of where my truck was parked and the homeowner allowed me to use her cell phone to contact the store. I contacted Vavoline and explained what was going on. After being placed on hold repeatedly, Dillon (the manager) stated that he would come out to see what the problem was. He came out and looked at the oil stick and stated that "they didn't put enough oil in my truck". I'm thinking to myself, "enough or none at all?". Just so happened he bought oil with him. He put a gallon of oil in my truck and then we tried to start the vehicle. The battery had gone dead due to the flashers being on and or the system shut down. Dillon and I then came to my home, which was up the street to retrieve my battery cables. We then went back and tried to start the truck again. After numerous times, the truck didn't seem to want to stay cranked. He then proceeded to say that this may not have been an oil issue at all that there maybe something wrong with my fuel pump, blah, blah, blah. He then attempted to call back to the store and informed me that the District Managers were not in on the weekend and the only we could do was to tow the truck. I then jumped in the truck and cranked it and it remained on. He gave me his number and apologized again. He explained that if I didn't make it home to contact him, which he provided his cell number. I made it home and left the truck on for a few minutes to see if anything would happen, but nothing happened as it was parked in my garage. I left to go back to the store and here again, a heard a loud rattling noise. I was thinking that my oil pan may not have been tightened or something was going on. I went over to Vavoline and asked Dillon to take a look at the pan, he said that everything was tightened and there wasn't an issue but the noise stopped. The oil needle now falls below 0, where it NEVER HAS until today. I told him the oil pressure light was still coming on, and of course, he tried to say it was my truck that was the issue. My Tahoe is a 2001, with 372k miles on it. I get my oil changed every 3 months and have NEVER had to replace anything other than a fuel pump, which I replaced twice in 16 years. He goes to read the codes and says that I need an oxygen sensor, blah, blah, blah... I knew that before I went there. I know my truck. Had I gone to Take 5 like I normally do, this would've NEVER happened never received a receipt because their machine was down. I was told that it would be emailed to me, but I never received it. Thank God for the 2 witnesses and the sticker in my otherwise I'm sure they would try to say I never went there. I will NEVER advise anyone to go to Vavoline. read more
