I came to Valvoline for a simple oil change and left with a ruined vehicle. They allegedly failed to replace the oil properly, and my car seized after only about 90 miles. What makes this even worse is that Valvoline initially agreed to cover the damage, then backed out once the repair cost became too high and started blaming my mileage instead of admitting fault. This is unacceptable. A routine service should never turn into major engine failure and thousands of dollars in damage. Their response has been dishonest, frustrating, and completely irresponsible. If you value your vehicle, I would think twice before trusting this location. read more

They do not honor the coupons that get sent out by Valvoline. They said the coupons are sent out by corporate for corporate stores and then told me they are a franchise. Then they try to tell you the coupon is expired. However I can can read and the date was just fine. I reached out to Valvoline corporate and they told me that this is a corporate store.. This isn't the only store I've had this issue with either. Valvoline seems to be running a bait and switch program. Once you're in the door w/ your hood up, what are you going to do, say "nah I don't want it anymore and drive off?" You're toast at that point. Valvoline on Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ. I have literally never written a negative review on a business before. However, as a young girl I feel I was totally scammed by this place. I brought my car (that's in absolutely perfect condition) for a basic oil change and left with a list of problems. First, the guy told me my battery was going bad. I let him know it was less than a year old and still under warranty through my roadside assistance, so I'd have it replaced through that company. Later on he claimed my skid plate was dented and loose... then said to me, "If you hear it dragging when you leave here, that's why." It was not dragging at all when I arrived--and if it had been, how would I have even made it there? You cannot drive your car with the skid plate dragging on the floor. So he had one of his guys zip tie it back on... When I go to leave my car doesn't start. He shrugs and says, "Yeah, it's that battery..." I thought okay maybe that's just a crazy coincidence... I told him I was still going to handle it with roadside assistance, so they jumped it. I drove straight home and called roadside assistance. They tested the battery, told me it was in great shape--and that it looked like someone or "something" had spiked the voltage, causing the issue. THEN the next morning, I go to leave for work and find my skid plate completely detached, dragging under my car, (see photo) making it undriveable. I had to Uber to work, and meanwhile call someone to come to my house and remove the skid plate just so we could drive it to a repair shop--costing me even more to fix something that was never broken in the first place. The 3 cares waiting before me got a bay,I thinking good I am next. 2 more cars came in behind me. When the next bay opened the a car that came in after me. I got out of my car and complained and the service guy said "don't worry we will get to you. I was angry and drove out of there. They should treat all customers with the same courtesy. very poor customer service and zero accountability. I had my rear differential serviced here 10/4 (no issues prior), they ended up cracking my cap and said "it was cracked" after my service was done (not before) and told me it would leak from now on and that I should get it checked out... did not tell me not to drive the vehicle. they sent me on my way with a cracked differential!! I go out of town the next day for two days and all my differential fluid has leaked all over my garage floor when I return. I had no leaks before!! I get my car checked out at Subaru dealer. they are convinced valvoline botched my service because there was a crack in my differential and the drain plug wasnt even put in properly so there was a gap which all caused the leak. I opened a claim with valvoline corporate that same day. at this point, NO ONE has told me not to drive the car. days go by, the weekend goes by, then Tuesday 10/14, my differential seized on the way to work and my axel breaks. my gears have been running dry with no fluid this whole time and now my drive train is completely wrecked! I called valvoline and told them I need to escalate my claim because my car is now inoperable. they know this. they tell me to get it towed to a partner shop. they told me on the phone "we will cover the FULL repair".... so I get my car towed to the shop. it cost ME $150 of my own money. a couple days later then valvoline calls me to say that "after their investigation" (why should I trust that?) that it's all basically my fault because they said "we said don't drive it" when no one ever told me that. nothing about that is noted in my invoice! then they said they would offer to cover the repair/replacement of my cracked cap because that's all they were liable for??? they offered me $524 for a repair job that is totaling around $2000!!!! they should be covering the whole thing! they ruined my car and are denying full responsibility. I have been using Valvoline for almost 10 years now. I had an issue where my cover underneath wasn't fully put back on causing it to be damaged and paying for a new cover for underneath, which was not cheap. I decided to give them another try even though I had this experience prior and went in on Monday to get my oil change with my newer car. I asked for my tires to be filled and checked which was not done, I asked for help with the oil reset instructions which was not done, I asked for air filter check which was not shown/told to me. The guy at the computer put that they did these things on the computer and he also put the wrong amount of oil needed for my car on the computer and if it wasn't for another worker I would of had an overfilled mess. The worker didn't even bother to look up my account I had on file. The worker on computer also decided he would rather talk about my personal life than what my car needed and treated his time with his coworkers as social time, even the guy who was filling my oil up front was asking why I was not gone yet. I am beyond disappointed and hope that my oil is actually fully changed correctly after spending a large amount for my requests to be ignored. Do better. read more

The folks were very friendly and helpful with selections in what services & price ranges they had available. They promptly began working on my vehicle and several other cars started arriving- they had a very efficient way of getting them set up and prepared for their service. I was very happy with my oil change and gave each attendant a Starbucks gift card for a beverage to enjoy on their break! 9/10/24 Around 1pm I was at Valvoline on Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ. I downloaded a 50% off coupon off their website prior, and showed it to them multiple times during the process. I'm disabled so I really have to plan things like this in advance to prepare myself. I asked which oil change I had to get to use the coupon. The guy said the full synthetic, $100 oil change. I agreed because I had the 50% off coupon. As the end of the transaction he scanned the coupon and it won't work. Then the manager got involved and told me the coupon isn't valid with that oil. She told me if I wouldn't pay the full price, then she would have to drain the oil out of my car. I explained the situation multiple times because she seemed more interested in yelling at me than listening. I know I didn't do anything wrong. I asked to speak with her manager and she said she was the highest manager there. She said she couldn't adjust the price in their system. She was rude, yelling and unprofessional. Finally she rung up a similar price and I paid it just to get away from that place. I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE! I WILL SPREAD MY EXPERIENCE TO ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN! THIS IS NOT OK! read more

All Very professional, all employees in constant communication with each other on what aspect of each job is finished. Safety first. No one goofing off. No one on their cell phone. I've been a Valvoline fan for years, even when I was living in the Midwest. I've used this specific location for my oil changes for the past seven years or so, and they always deliver. The mechanics are friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. You don't feel any pressure for additional services, although they will let you know if something is recommended. I have always received great customer service and they have gone above and beyond for me, especially the one time I thought I had an issue after an oil change (which turned out to be completely unrelated - but that didn't stop them from helping me out). I went to this place with my boyfriend who needed an oil change over the weekend. We had a great experience except when they gave conflicting information regarding a groupon. Overall it was quick and easy. I went during the week because I was at 0% oil and I decided to go during lunch. I waited in the stall and after 30 mins they asked me to switch with someone who had been waiting longer in another stall. I was frustrated because I was on my lunch break and how is it my fault that the person was waiting longer than expected, and then not to mention that I had to wait another 20 mins after switching spots. I saw 3 cars that came after me get service which infuriated me more because I was still sitting there. I was trying not to get angry with the worker because it wasn't her fault, but I was really upset. I won't be going back to this Valvoline and will find another one in my area. read more

My husband brought in his 1ton work truck for oil change. Upon leaving realized they didn't reset the change oil light. Also took his tire pressure down to 35lb. Recommended tire pressure is 65-70lb. Not thrilled having to stop at gas station to get air in tires. read more

I was in and out of there in 15 minutes and was getting educated on my car while it was getting an oil change, got a new air filter, new coolant and got my tires rotated. All this was done super fast and the employees were very friendly and not overbearing because it can be at some times (especially being a woman with little to know understanding of cars). I went in at what seemed like a very busy time (Saturday, 1pm) and I still got done in an hour. Tyler checked everything including my tire pressure, filters, lights, breaks, battery, all of it! They filled up my tires and Tyler told me about this fuel stuff that will help with my car and gas (which we all need right now haha) and was so kind and pleasant! I never felt pressured to spend more or felt like I was getting scammed or anything like that! Tundai did my oil change and was so sweet and kind. I will 100% be coming back for my oil changes here! If I could give this place no stars I would. After three years of Loyalty with this company all I got in return was disrespect, the run around, and a seized engine. They state "You see nothing, you hear nothing" in their voice cover trying to set themselves apart from other oil companies yet that is exactly what they will do to you. May 13th I got a full synthetic oil change as I normally do. Not even four weeks later my oil light comes on so I quickly go to my closest location (Cave Creek).They state my oil levels were NOT filled properly and I was THREE quarts low of oil. I asked if it was a leak or car issue and they ensured me is wasn't the car it was the service. They topped it off and did not charge me in which is why they put "tire Check" on my invoice & lied about my mileage. Not even TWO weeks after this event occurred my engine seized on the freeway due to my radiator separating causing my engine to over heat. Due to my vehicle running low on fluids this caused internal damage. After reaching out Hunter the manager at Mesa/Baseline he states he supposedly reviewed DVR footage and stated everything was done properly mean while the Cave Creek location stated it wasn't. I got customer care involved and they put my in contact with the Area Manager "Chris" who then told me on my invoices it stated my coolant was leaking when in fact after going over three years of invoices it doesn't state that once and he was unable to provide me with an invoice number in which he supposedly stated that "comment". I then reached BACK out to Hunter to only find out "Chris" is only a tech and not the Area Manager. Hunter then began to speak down to me as if I didn't understand what he was speaking about when it came to my car and the diagnostic I received. I was over the belittling and the sexist act so l called customer care yet again to finally speak to Austin whom is the "Real Area Manager". Austin then states my diagnostic shows what happened to my vehicle but not what caused it to happen even though it states it in black and white. He then stated I would need another diagnostic to prove "Valvoline is at fault" yet would not provide the service of having my car towed to their location and do it themselves. This whole experience has been absolutely horrible and after always recommending it I would absolutely NOT ever send anyone here again. This company knows they are at fault but will not take ownership until it's proven their way. Finally go ahead of Dough whom is higher than Austin and he states it's shown in the DVR there "was coolant" under the hood at the Cave Creek Location yet NO ONE mentioned it or noted it in the comments even when asked MULTIPLE times and being reassured it was just "not done properly". The other services they offer are always stellar and they are very honest about what you actually need for your vehicle without trying to pressure you into an upsell.
