Came in after work for a much-needed oil change, and I was seriously impressed! As a woman, it can be tough to find an auto shop that doesn't try to upsell you on unnecessary services, but this place was different. The owner personally came out to introduce himself and was incredibly friendly and respectful. The service was fast, affordable, and honest. I didn't feel pressured or taken advantage of, and I didn't have to spend my entire paycheck just to keep my car running. Pricing was more than fair, and the whole experience was smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back and will be recommending this shop to all my friends in the area. Great service. It's first come first serve basis. The guys were quick to get me in and out. I asked about possibly getting my brakes done while I was there and they inspected and I was told that there was still plenty of milage left in them. Which was a nice feeling knowing they weren't looking to change them and charge me for an additional service. I'd much rather give these guys my money than the big chains. read more

Came here today for the first time for an oil change and so glad I did. I got right in, the guys were very friendly and helpful and I was done in about 15 min. They had a nice, cool and clean waiting room for me to wait in while they changed my oil so I didn't have to sit in a hot car while they changed the oil. Best of all the price was great. The only place I go to for my car service needs, been coming here almost 3 years now for my oil changes and what not. I've always had a pleasant experience here, the gentlemen working here do their best to get you in and out while doing quality work. They never try to up sale anything and only do what you ask! It is on first come first serve basis from what I've experienced but I never wait too long when they do have a few cars to work on. Waiting room is nice and clean as well. read more

Just got back from getting my oil changed and as usual all was done promptly, quickly and professionally. I've been going here (Mobil 1 Express lube) for oil changes and light maintenance for over 15 years and Dick and his crew always get you in and back on the road fast. Facility is always clean. The waiting room , though it hardly gets used, is clean and comfortable. Restroom is always spotless and smells fresh too. They never try to sell you stuff you don't need and answer all questions before work starts. For good, reliable service , this definitely the place to go in north Phoenix. I've been coming here for over 7 years; every 8 months for oil changes. The guys here do a great clean, competent job and the owner here is easy to talk to, never upsell, and seems to handle difficult customers well. Straight to the point of the work needed and the price is fair. I'm in and out of this place in reasonable time. Just come prepared ( like with any other vendors) by knowing your car and needs; how many quartz of oil you need, what type of oil exactly( Mobil 5w30, 5w40, etc..), where the old oil is to be drained underneath, what the job should cost. This info is all in your car manual and experience, and tell them what you don't want done(like air in your tire). Make sure before you leave the place to do a quick look around the car and look at the receipt before paying. I tell people to take the extra long drive to come to this place above all others; as with all good things in life requires an extra effort . Thanks guys. read more

First let me say when I need auto work done I look for a shop that is honest and Dick and his crew are just that. My first visit here was for a second opinion on a list of things my normal Toyota dealer said I needed to have done. I'm so glad I got that second opinion because some of the items didn't even need to be fixed. Another reason why I'm giving a excellent rating is because they also fixed my door handles even though it's something they don't normally do but were willing to take a shot at it and they fixed them :). I have only had great experiences with the owner and employees at this Mobil 1 lube express. They are very professional and honest. It's usually a scary experience to deal with mechanical issues as a woman with little to no knowledge about cars I'm at their mercy. They treat me like family. I was told by the car dealership that I needed brakes that would've cost some where in the neighborhood of $800 and when I went to the mobile one they said I still had a few thousand miles and to come back , when I did it was far less expensive. I just had an oil change done here after looking for reviews on places like these (mechanics I mean) and went here, hoping I wouldn't have any hassle with them saying I need this or that done. Nope, not here! I told him what I wanted, an Oil Change, and he asked how many miles are on my vehicle, and I thought it an odd question. But he explained, after I told him what he wanted, and went to work. They checked my air filter for me, asked if I wanted a replacement to which I complied with no pressure from them, thank the gods. Waited maybe 15 or 20 minutes total, then handed my keys and paid their reasonable price for the great work done. Fluid top offs, battery terminal brushing and cleaning, and with new oil and air filter in place, I set about the rest of my day. TLDR; Great work, great service, great pricing. If you want it done fast, well and even cheap, come here. read more

Sad to say, I will never go here again. While the owner seemed very nice, I found out I was getting screwed. I was bringing my Corvette here for oil changes, since I didn't have a low profile jack to get the car up in the air. They did four oil changes on my car. Every time I specified Mobil 1 extended life oil and extended life filter. I finally got my gear to get the car up in my own garage, and I changed the oil today. I found a standard filter today when I changed the oil. Also, from the appearance of the oil, I'm not even sure if it is Mobil 1. I saved a few ounces which I'm going to send back to Mobil for evaluation. But that's not all. I always change the oil in my truck, but I was in a hurry last time it needed a change, and since I liked this shop, I just swung by and let them change it. Fast forward 3,000 miles (two weekends ago) and I'm doing my own oil change on the truck. When I pulled the drain plug, I would say I was very lucky if there was three quarts of oil that came out. And it was in real rough shape. The truck does not leak a drop, nor burn any oil. So it looks like the tech half filled the truck with oil. That is two strikes against Mobil 1 Lube Express. I won't take my chances on a third strike. read more

I took my car for an oil change at this location. While there, the service person told me that my car was due for a radiator flush, so I agreed to have that done as well. The wait was about average for any "quick lube" place and, while more expensive than I was used to paying for an oil change (the oil change alone cost me around $60), I was interested in seeing what difference, if any, using Mobil 1 full synthetic had on the performance of my vehicle (as it turns out there was no noticeable difference). My problem came a few miles down the road, when I stopped at the traffic light at the corner of Bell Rd. and 19th Ave. I noticed a small amount of what appeared to be smoke coming from under my hood and also notice a strange odor. I drove to the nearest parking lot and when I got out of my car, I could hear a loud hissing sound and coolant was spilling from beneath the car. As I opened the hood, I discovered that the radiator cap had not been put back in place. It was actually wedged in between the hood and radiator. Needless to say, I was upset and disappointed that what seemed like a professional operation (they certainly charge professional prices) turned out to be done with such carelessness. If their services are performed by ASE certified mechanics, as they claim, then someone needs to update ASE standards. Thankfully, there was no permanent damage to my vehicle. But that is because I happened to stop at the traffic light and notice the smoke/odor. Had I had green lights all the way, I would have gotten on the 17, and it would have only been a matter of miles before my engine had overheated or worse. I will never bring a vehicle back to this location. I wouldn't bring a lawnmower for service there. I've heard horrible reviews about Jiffy Lube, but my experience goes to show that you can't even trust the supposedly more reputable services, either. read more

Have been patronizing this business since moving to the neighborhood in 2003. I gathered over the years that most likely Dick is the owner and Jim is in charge when he's not there. No complaints until Friday, August 11, 2017. Sent my wife there to have the oil changed in her 2008 Pontiac Vibe (has an internal engine oil filter, not a canister type) and said to get Mobil 1 full synthetic. I said the cost should be around $50 to $60 as that what it cost me for my SUV. She called and said it was over $80 and read me the listed fees on the receipt, $61.99 for the oil change, $2 disposal fee, then a total of $81.04. No explanation for the difference. She went back and asked Jim for an explanation. He told her they charged $14.99 for a synthetic oil filter that wasn't included in the $61.99 oil change but was necessary. They didn't explain before charging her but tacked it on. Mobil web site indicates a synthetic oil filter is NOT necessary. I wanted to go there myself and ask about this but my wife talked me out of it. My opinion is if Dick is not there, drive away. I think Jim is paid on commission as he always tries to get me to agree to a transmission flush, radiator flush, replace belts, hoses, etc. (just like the dealers). My SUV is due for an oil change this week but I think I'll try another lube shop. I try to patronize the independent/privately owned businesses but not at these prices. read more
