I purchased a Groupon oil change for Valvoline and came to this location to use it. Turns out, my fault, thisbwas for a conventional oil change, not the full synthetic I I required. I notified Groupon and they refunded. So I was impressed with Valvoline's honesty upfront and their courtesy I agreed to an oil change using the proper oil. They began to go over my vehicle and discovered the oil filter I provided from Autozone was incorrect. Sure enough, it didn't. They offered to call around to locate correct oil filter. I agreed and they found one at a dealer, because vehicle was too new for after market parts. They stopped one of their employees, had him drive over personally and pick it up. Due the inconvenience they offered their waiting room w/ air conditioning. It was awesome. They finished up and I'm on my way. **The manager, Byron, was professional, smart, courteous and found a great solution for my dilemma. He & his team went beyond to ensure I was happy and my problem cleared up. Their location is convenient and very clean. They are more accessible and reasonably priced than an auto dealer's service department, especially the Dodge shysters locally around Conroe. I went in for a radiator flush and fill. Very helpful staff. The manager carefully double checked the work. I wanted to change the transmission fluid as well, but they couldn't access it based on the car design. They did recommend a place that can do it about two blocks away. I brought my 2019 Escape in for an oil change and tire rotation. The biggest problem was the amount of time it took. After queuing up out back someone came out and told me which door to get behind and that I'd be called in in about 15 minutes. Well that came and went and after 30 minutes someone came out and said - another 15 minutes. He explained there were only 3 people working to service the 3 cars that were already pulled in. Unfortunately - the way the place is set up you are trapped behind the place after other cars pull in for service. I'm sure they don't tell the 5 cars behind me how long it's really going to be. I finally got into the bay and told them I wanted an oil change and tire rotation. Again - super SLOW. I was there for 1.5 hours for an oil change!!! After reading other reviews, I guess I'm thankful nothing else went wrong. I'll try to find a new place for my next change. read more

I went in about two months ago and lost the paper until now. Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had. I've taken my own car to get oil changes since I started driving at 17 and have never been scammed into anything or lied to. I'm very straight and to the point, telling them what I know is best for my price point and vehicle. I went in to get an oil change and they tried charging me $132 for a simple oil change. When I told them that is not correct, they told me they were already putting the oil in. THEN I saw an extra $18 charge on the screen. When I asked what the charge was for, they told me it was for an extra quart of oil that my car took. Made sense. Until I got my receipt. My receipt showed that $11 of that $18 charge was actually for a premium oil filter and the rest was for the quart. An oil filter that did not need to be premium, especially when the oil change I was charged for showed it came with a normal filter with no upcharge. They never asked if I'd wanted a nicer filter or anything. They just did it then charged me. They are just out to get money and the bald guy was extremely rude (not trying to sound rude myself I just don't remember his name and that was the only identifiable characteristic I can think of to differentiate him from other workers). ON A VEHICLE IVE HAD FOR 9mo and did all my oil changes myself - I had to take my F150 in for an oil change because of my HIP REPLACEMENT . I get the oil changed - START SMELLING OIL BURN THRU VENTS. I figured they may have spilled a little oil, thought it will go away. The burnt oil smell continued . After about 350 miles driven I went back to ask about the oil smell, still happening. on the Dip stick I noticed the Oil was WAYYYYYYYYY over the cross hatched markings. They said that was normal and they checked the oil again. THEY STATED THEY PUT IN 6qrts and did show me on the paperwork it was 6qrts put in. They said they "Checked everything". As it turns out FOOLISHLY I TOOK THEIR WORD FOR IT. After driving another 150mi. I decided to DRAIN THE OIL UNTIL I COULD SEE IT IN THE CROSSHATCH FILL/LO DIP STICK. According to the oil DRAINED - I WAS A QUART OVER!!!! At this point I'm praying my seals are still tight and no engine issues begin!!!!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! I took my BMW into this location and they didn't seem to know what they're doing. Both the guys working were very slow. They didn't work on my car very long and I was out the door. I drove my car for a while that day and the next day by noon my car started acting and I opened the hood and there was oil everywhere all over my engine and alternator. I took it to autozone to see what was going on and the guy there told me not to drive it and get it to a repair shop asap. So I took it to a auto shop and they told me that Valvoline the oil filter cup seal was not seated properly causing significant oil leaking onto the belt causing the belt to slip and catch on the lower ac line causing the belt to tear. Plus I would need to get a new alternator due to the amount of oil that leaked all over it. The amount for the repair of the belt was $240.00 more than my $130.00 oil change! I wasn't happy and now I was out $370 for a oil change. Unbelievable! I called the manager named Riley at the Rochester Location and he didn't do anything for me after I explained what had happened. He told me he would file a claim and I emailed him and nothing back after 2 days! This was the worst experience that I've ever had with any oil change company. And now I have to pay over $900 for a new alternator. Beware of this location! read more

I took my car there for an oil change and was informed that they don't carry the oil for it but I could buy it at a parts store and bring it in. I was puzzled because I've had numerous oil changes at other Valvoline's and never had a problem. I purchased oil recommended by the parts store and returned for them to tell me that oil wasn't correct either. I left and went to the Valvoline in Beverly Hill where they got me right in and changed my oil. Very knowledgeable about my car and knew the filter location where almost no one else does. They also confirmed the parts store gave me the correct oil and they carry the same oil as well. Very credible guys on Greenfield rd. They had the proper oil (Same as Valvoline on Greenfield road) but refused to use it. This was a competence issue, not logistical. read more

my name is Reginald Pryor I got an oil change on May 14, 2023 and it was not done right. I had to find out myself that it was not done right by taking it to Firestone. because my oil filter was not properly screwed on right I found out that most of my oil was leaking in my drive way. my car is a 2019 enclave that cost me $55,000 if I had not caught it, my engine would have been destroyed. I gave an invoice from firestone for 134.19 which I gave to valvoline on 3160 Rochester rd Troy MI 48083. After that I talk to customer service which they said that they would send me a check for the amount of 134.19, but this was sent to the wrong address after I gave them the right address they then put a stop on that check and made me wait another 10 days. The second time on July 29, 2023 today I find out that the check that I am suppose to receive has the wrong name on it. I've been waiting almost a month to get paid if it took this long to pay $134 imagine if my engine had been destroyed. I would have had a major problem getting my car fixed I still do not have the money I was promised I find this very unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

The way she told me to come in to the garage and expected me to know where to stop without telling me and then when she did tell me to stop she rudely told me to back up. This is my second oil change at Valvoline on Highway 105 Conroe - first under Covid restrictions. They made it so easy and quick. Super organized. There was no shortage of friendly employees. I never left my car. They performed safety checks, filled all tires, topped off fluids, and checked all filters. The filters were pulled and checked by 3 people and was told they were all pretty clean and did not need replacing. Nice! They provided me with services to consider now or in the future.
