He did need to go back a week later for a touch up because his food kept getting caught or he'd have like a pinch where the cavities were taken care of, but that was like a 5 min fix. They said it takes a couple weeks for it to be back to normal but literally whatever they did worked. I did pay cash for the cleanings because my insurance, i wasn't sure about but they said they will reimburse me. It's been about 6 weeks and that takes a while, being reimbursed but they said the insurance takes a few weeks. MAKE SURE to ask about your insurance because I called and they told me no they didn't take mine, with a few details but the lady who I was talking to just was like no no no, we don't take that insurance, without even trying. My phone accidentally called them, so then they called me back and I was like oh yea you don't take my insurance and asked if she could just run it or a few more questions. She did and of course they take me insurance, it paid for my kids filings. But still waitin for my reimbursement, like I said 6 weeks later. Yea I felt that was very careless and they just wanted to take my money so bad, it never sat right with me, dental work cost a lot so to not want to see about my insurance is bothersome! That's why the 3 start, but other than the few things, it's a great place! Smells nice, ppl nice

Overall Rating: Solid 3 Stars…read more After many appointments at Island Dental, I can say that the experience has just been okay. Parking: There's a private lot shared with another business (a different dental office for surgical procedures I think) with plenty of parking. Ambiance/Decor: It is a very nice dental office and it's very comfy and cozy. It's clean and spacious as well! Customer Service: The customer service is okay. Sometimes, in my opinion, it did feel a bit less genuine/fake and it also felt like I was being rushed when I needed to call. It always seems like the front desk receptionists are in a hurry to hang up the phone. Dental/Appointments/Pricing: When I first started going to Island Dental, I loved my cleaning experience with the hygienist I was originally paired with but when she moved away, everyone after her that I had just seemed okay. My teeth never really felt truly amazingly clean as they had in the past with my primary hygienist in California. They really push the "boomcloud membership" which they raised the price multiple times since my first appointment. I personally think that for the quality of cleaning, it is extremely overpriced. Overall: After multiple appointments, still continuing the BoomCloud membership although my teeth never felt as clean as I would like them to be, I have decided that I would much rather go back to California to my primary dentist than to continue with Island Dental. Sure, it is beautiful office and the hygienists and doctors were kind, but it just isn't worth the price for the experience. I hope this review helps you decide on where to find a dentist in the Summerlin area! :) Overall Rating: Solid 3 Stars

I called to make him an appointment a few days later, and when we got there, the facility was beautiful and clean, and the waiting area has freshly baked cookies and water. The assistant showed him to the waiting room, and on the way showed us all of the certifications of the doctors, their modern machine that can do same-day crowns, and gave a free reusable water bottle filled with some gum, drink powder, and chapstick. I was very impressed and assumed that the experience would be great. However, my partner had a very bad experience. The appointment was for 1020am, and they did the x-ray, then he waited an hour, and then they did the exam and told him he had to come back to do the cleaning and the earliest opening was in two hours. How disrespectful of people's time to assume they can come in two visits. Why couldn't they do the cleaning during this hour where they had him waiting for nothing? They never told us when I made the appointment that it was broken up into two visits - in California for these new patient specials they always do it in one visit. So then he went back a few days later for the cleaning and it was HORRIBLE. Usually there is a dentist who cleans, and then an assistant who mans the suction, but this was one lady doing it all herself. She was not communicative (usually they tell you when they're doing the suction, when to close your mouth, etc, she said nothing) nor detailed (she jumped around from a left tooth to a right tooth when usually they go sequentially), and an overflow of saliva built up in his mouth. Then she POKED his lip with the sharp pick point and didn't even apologize!!! And she was scraping a tooth and missed and scraped his mouth!! Ugh!! How is this person allowed to even clean people's teeth? I'm very disappointed that we didn't get to experience the good dentists that other people refer to in their reviews. My partner was in shock after the appointment and said it was the worst teeth cleaning experience he's ever had. The fact that they have this incompetent tooth cleaner to where they hurt you is unforgiveable. Definitely will not be going back.

I had super high hopes with this dental office after reading the reviews. I called and spoke with…read moresomeone who made dental appointments for myself and my wife. I didn't think much of it but during the appointment booking, I was asked when the last time I had a deep cleaning. I figured that perhaps it's a money grab but nontheless, I gave them the benefit of my doubt. On the day of the appointment, I was greeted upon arriving. I didn't have to wait long before seeing the hygienist. She took x-rays and looked at my teeth. She immediately suggested a deep cleaning. She also advised that she can do half of my mouth right away and the other half in a few days. I agreed and was given an estimate of my charges. I told the hygienist that something has been bothering me in my mouth for over a year. Dr. Stark came into the room and literally glanced inside my mouth and didn't offer any suggestions other than floss and gargle salt water. She didn't spend any time with me. She could have easily advised for me to book a follow-up appointment for a more thorough diagnosis. When it was time to pay, I was charged $150 extra for a procedure that originally wasn't quoted in my estimate. I didn't want to confront the staff at this time since it was late. A day later, the receptionist called me to reschedule my second deep cleaning due to the fact that they recognized a staffing issue for later that week. I was ok with the rescheduling. At this time, however, I expressed my concern about this charge that I wasn't aware of. There was no apology or any express of empathy. I felt disappointed that they didn't seem to want to own up to their mistake. A few days later, on my new appointment date, I once again expressed my concern about this situation. I even offered to pay half price for the procedure on the other half of my mouth. The staff was unwilling to work with me. Again, this was their mistake from the start for not properly informing me about this additional charge that insurance doesn't cover. I was not happy about this situation. I saw the hygienist for the second deep cleaning and she was not the same person that I had the week before. This second person was very rough in my mouth and originally didn't think she needed to numb a portion of my mouth! She was very rough in my mouth and I told her to numb the mouth while she does the deep cleaning. After this encounter, I knew that I was not going to come back to this dental practice. Additionally, my wife had a small cracked tooth. She saw Dr. Stark the same day I was there and a crown appointment was scheduled for a few weeks later. I ended up cancelling this appointment because of the way I was handled. Found a new dentist a few weeks later which I will post a review for shortly. Went there and the dentist was so professional. He took literally 30 minutes diagnosing the issue that I've had and he fixed it! Additionally, I wasn't charged not even 1 cent!!! I was told that this will be completely paid for by insurance. He suggested for me to come back in 3 weeks for some minor follow-up work. I already made the follow-up appointment. However, for the moment, my mouth isn't hurting me as much as before. My wife also went in to see him about her cracked tooth and he was about to fix it in about 15 minutes. He said that for now, a crown won't be necessary!!! And this dentist has in house crown making equipment! He could have easily recommended a crown in order to make money. I just wish Dr. Stark's staff would have owned up to their mistake and that she would have taken more time with me instead of simply glancing inside my mouth and taking a peek at the x-rays. Also, she could have fixed my wife's cracked tooth without suggesting a crown.

Unbelievable the RUDE service at check in I'll definitely be looking for another DDS it's the 1st…read moreimpression I'm happy to report Dr.Stark called and apologized for the incident and it's nice to know that she cares
