I came in for a cappuccino and admired their St. Patrick's Day decor! I am already a huge Van Gogh Coffee fan, and I love what they have done with the clovers and green everywhere. It is very well done :) excellent and fast service as usual.

Cute little finding on my way to Seattle! Beautiful café, friendly staff, and delicious fresh pastries. I had a seasonal special: Snicker Doodle latte, and a biscuit, it was so good. Warm and inviting place, I will come back without a doubt! Support local

Super cute and fun little coffee house on the east side of Seattle. The owner is super nice and the staff are really friendly. They have killer breakfast sandwiches and there coffee is bomb. There sandwiches are delightful. This is a really nice spot to stop before shopping at uvillage. They only have a few tables, but service is very fast. It can get a little loud, so I don't recommend this as a spot to study. Most of all, I really love all the artwork. I would love to buy a few pieces if they were they right colors. I really like this little spot! Definitely check it out.

First thing to mention, kudos for their longevity. They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits.

Definitely a hopping place at the end of the workday. It's got a darker ambiance and it's cozy. It has indoor, outdoor, and patio seating, though we chose to stay indoor. Pro tip - the poofs make you sit REALLY low. The food choices around 1pm were dismal, and limited. Maybe they'd sold out, or maybe they just don't have a lot there, but nothing even looked fresh enough to warrant purchase. The other thing that killed me was the service. There was one person on the entire 4 hours I was there, and it made for an incredibly slow experience. It was friendly enough, if not a little dismissive. Prices are reasonable and there is paid parking across the street, but take that with a "for Seattle" caveat.

And the food is on point - we loved everything we ordered. Cold brew was solid, Persian Bazaar Latte is so damn good. And my daughter raved about the berry passionfruit smoothie. In all seriousness, North Seattle has been lacking in the "cool cafe" department. You know, the one you go into and you feel like it's a place that you'd actually want to hang out. Not just grab a coffee and split. One that will put you in a position where you can't decide if it's time for a coffee or a beer. That's Pacha. The vibes are immaculate here, and every time I come there seems to be more and more energy. I walked in on a Friday afternoon and they had a huge projector playing a World Cup match. The local matcha drinkers were going wild as Egypt cruised along to a victory. My Americano was fantastic, which is table stakes for a Seattle cafe. But the folks taking the order and making the drinks were full of energy and cracking jokes, love to see people enjoying their work. The breakfast burrito was surprisingly good for a cafe, and came with a beautiful aioli. You could tell that they take their burrito-craft very seriously. A thoroughly grilled, well-tucked burrito was an excellent complement to my coffee.

Grateful Bread is a nice neighborhood spot in Wedgewood across the street from Top Pot Donuts, serving as a bakery and cafe. Baked goods and sandwiches are made from scratch, and beverages are abundantly available. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The sandwiches were great and included Romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber (with skin on), red onion, mayonnaise, and spicy dijon mustard. A totally tasty sandwich!! They just threw the sandwiches on the counter without calling my name...fine, let me go up there and ask if the sandwiches are for me. I was met with grunts. I clarify and she says: "it's over there, where coffee would be" Notably, no one else in the restaurant was treated this way, and I was the only Black person in the restaurant. Am I saying this was racially motivated? Not necessarily, but do I think it wasn't? No! Suffice it to say, I'm avoiding this place from now on and would advise others to do the same. The bakery isn't good enough to justify the terrible service.
