They have before and after traditional work hour appointments, and today, they got me in for an 6:30 am emergency broken front tooth fix since I have a job interview and can't be going in there looking like a hillbilly!! And it turned out even better than it was before! I can't stop smiling like a goof! :) Dr. Nelson - never pressures, fairly upfront about costs, friendly, fully explains things to ya Staff - front desk is lovely as are the dental hygienists. Patient Rooms - lovely full window view of their outside flower/succulent wall, massage-y chairs (previously described to me as a "gentle cat kneading on your back" haha) and beats headphones to jam out/tune out the drill Wait Times - you won't really wait in the 'waiting room' as you'll be whisked off to Pricing - higher than many, especially the places that always put promo flyers on my door. But, I appreciate the atmosphere, friendliness and expertise of Dr. Nelson and his staff over saving a few $100 (yeah...it's more expensive, but it's my teeth!) The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is soothing, and the doctor seemed to be very experienced and was kind. What is prompting me to write this review is the flat-out scam this place is. I was told on two separate occasions by the front staff that they take my insurance (also Delta Dental) no problem and they would reimburse my money after I paid. So naturally, I paid the amounts after my routine teeth cleaning and a supposed cavity fill ($300 each session) and waited for the reimbursement like they told me. A week or two goes by, no reimbursement. I call again, and the front desk confirms they take my insurance and that the money would come. Another two weeks go by and of course, nothing but a twenty dollar reimbursement. I took matters into my own hands, saw a previous Yelp review saying they experienced the same thing, called my insurance, and they told me that no, Dr. Nelson's office does not take my insurance. I advise if you have Delta Dental DO NOT GO HERE! They will lie and tell you you are fully covered but you aren't!!

It was literally the most thorough dental exam I've ever had, with digital X-rays (including the panos that my last dentist didn't do), CT scans if needed, lots of photos, a tooth-by-tooth evaluation, oral cancer screening, even looking at mobility, jaw movement, etc. (Finally my knowledge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle comes in handy.) Dr. Pappas even pointed out something I'd brought up to a different dentist years ago and had completely forgotten about. He's also very transparent about whether a treatment can wait or needs to be done right away. The hygienist I had was also very thorough, so I definitely felt like I was in good hands all around. I switched here after a decade at a different dental clinic that had been cutting a lot of corners. As someone without specialized knowledge, navigating dental care can be frustrating and time-consuming. I find it so frustrating--as someone with no real knowledge of dentistry--when I feel like I to have to spend time attempting to research what dentists or other doctors should be doing so I can make sure they actually do it, or to figure out what to do about pain or issues they dismiss or tell me to ignore. We all have enough things to worry about without trying to become amateur dental or medical researchers. So it's a breath of fresh air to go somewhere like Arcadia Dental Arts where I can just kick back and relax knowing they're covering all the bases. Also the office is really nice, and it's right near Lola Coffee. And they have a super cute new patient gift bag, which was a nice touch! Glad to have found a new dental home.

Dr. MARO has a pleasant personality and sense of humor which is so appreciated when someone is working on your mouth and teeth. He put together a plan of care I feel 100% on board with! I had an appt for a cleaning at 7am, coming from Mesa I'd woken up very early to make it. 30 min before the appt. I was told Madison the hygienist had to cancel, annoyed, but I get it- I rescheduled. When I actually couldn't make that rescheduled appt, I called the day before to reschedule. I was told by the front desk girl that it was too late & I'd be charged a $50 fee. I said, it's the day before & courtesy should be extended to me because this was an appt they rescheduled on me 30 min before. She said matter of fact, sorry we're charging you. I knew the front desk would be unpleasant from then on. I got me a new dentist. I still get a weekly text saying I owe them $50.

The staff member reviewing the estimate mentioned they might not be able to provide a standard cleaning if a deep cleaning was recommended, which seems to align with concerns mentioned in other reviews. They ultimately did proceed with a cleaning, but it was one of the most rushed and ineffective experiences I've ever had. The entire cleaning lasted under 15 minutes. When I brought up how rushed it felt and my concerns about not being thorough, I was told it was a standard prophylactic cleaning but I get cleanings every six months, and I know what a proper one feels like. This was not it. To make matters worse, I felt like I was being rushed out of the chair the moment it ended. I won't be returning and would strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before committing to any expensive treatment plan here.

Years ago I went to Dr. Harman regularly (as regular as you might see a dentist). At a routine cleaning I was told I had a cavity and they could drill it and fill it. I declined and ignored it. 6 months after that at my next cleaning Dr. Harman told me I needed to treat my cavity. 6 months later I got a cleaning at a new dentist and they had no mention of a cavity. 6 months after that I got another cleaning from a different dentist and no mention of a cavity. The bottom line was I had no cavity. This can be taken as an honest mistake or misdiagnosis but I'll explain why I think it's more than that. A couple weeks ago my wife's crown fell out. She has continued to see Dr. Harman who might I add has re-cemented her crown multiple times with it continuing to fall out but this time she was told her tooth was infected and she needed an implant for $9,000. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and the new dentist explained there was zero infection. Now we have 2 conflicting diagnoses so we decided to see a 3rd dentist who also said there was no infection and no implant was needed. I don't think this is a coincidence. I believe Dr. Harman manufactures false diagnosis's to pad his pockets. I believe he is dishonest and should not be seeing patients. BEWARE!

I've lived in Phoenix for 56 years and have seen several dentists during that time, but no one compares to Dr Plisky. His staff is also very friendly and helpful. And to top it all off he invests in the latest equipment. My last 2 crowns were very futuristic using 3D imaging and both fit like a glove. I would give him 10 stars if I could!
