Camouflage, cowboy boots, overalls, plaid button-ups, homesteading magazines, backyard farming books, wind chimes, feed, seed, hardware, jerky, and John Deere everywhere .... Yep, this is a store for country folk. I'm well aware that Tractor Supply is a staple store in most rural areas but since I'm from Chicago, you don't get too much country out there. This store has all the basic things you need for around your garden or farm -- shovels, pine bedding, pet food, coops, work boots, some tools, parts, salt licks, and so on. All the workers are nice, too. We come here to pick up anything we need for working outside (tossing out heels and ties for boots and hats) and haven't been disappointed. My husband gravitates towards the farm tools and hardware while I float around near books and garden supplies. I'm sure the rural romantication will wear off soon but for now, we love it!

I should move from Lexington to Winchester so I can live where stores offer this kind of value and service. The store is conveniently located on Main Street but seemed to have more stuff than the Lowe's superstore near me (where their inventory is a hopelessly disorganized mess). D&S Hardware is well stocked in the way hardware stores were before the big box retailers took over. I love D&S Hardware... not just the large variety of merchandise, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great value. I love the customer oriented attitude they convey and the entire experience of shopping there.

Why? Because you get one on one help even when its with the littlest of things such as the needing the right screws. This is important to me especially when I'm in a hurry. Chevy Chase came through for me. There is plenty of off street parking in the back plus a back door for customers. The inside of the store seems huge but its hard to tell since the aisles are narrow and it looks like its two buildings put together inside. The rows of aisles is endless it seems. I got there just before closing and did not have time to browse the whole store. Staff was super friendly and extra helpful. I highly recommend this store for your home maintenance needs.

This in no way was my fault and good customer service should have been provided. They were my go-store for all my needs as well as my friend who owns his own business. Not anymore. Paint, nails, cookware, cleaning supplies, tools, keys, and many odd and end items. The guys that work here are great. They strive to assist people any way they can and do it with a huge smile. They also still wear the old school True Value Aprons like they did back in the old days. Entering this specific store is like you went back into time when things were more simpler. I love it. They write everything down on a carbon copy receipt and tally it all up on a hand calculator. This kind of store don't seem to exist any more. They carry anything you could possibly want for your property. Tools, accessories, vehicles, fertilizer and even yard decorations. They offer top quality clothing for men and women. Staples foods and unique snacks. You can even purchase chickens, ducks and rabbits there. There are aisles of products you cannot find anywhere else and all for very reasonable prices. I specified the Georgetown location because I prefer it over the Winchester store. It seems cleaner, its lighting is brighter and I have never been in the Georgetown store and not had excellent customer service. As farm supply stores go I think this store is top notch.
