Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie (hand-packed)

Van Leeuwen is incredible! While it's on the pricier side for an ice cream shop, the flavors never fail to deliver. There's such a unique assortment here, and my go-to option is always the Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie ice cream. I opted for one scoop today, and it definitely hit the spot. The combination of cookie dough bits and brownie pieces added a perfect mix of texture and flavor--every bite was packed with toppings, which I loved. The staff was super helpful and even encouraged me to try some of the more unique flavors. The beautiful decor and indoor seating added to the experience, creating a cozy atmosphere. I couldn't recommend this ice cream shop enough and will definitely be returning!

I've seen the Van Leeuwen brand at stores in my state but my interest peaked to 10, when I realized they had ice cream shops near the area we were lodging. Located in the lovely Park Slope area (which gives 100% San Francisco vibes), I walked into the shop and instantly knew I was going to have a problem...too many delicious sounding choices! Breanna (sp?) was the lovely young lady who served me. I watched her kindly help a couple with a toddler taste and make their selections. When it was my turn I knew what flavors I wanted to sample...until I rounded the ice cream case and saw more flavors! I decided on the Italian hazelnut and the banana bread pudding. Both were absolutely delicious! I don't recall seeing either flavor back home in stores but I will be looking. My husband and I visit family in NYC at least once a year and I am looking forward to more lovely flavors when I return next spring.

    Sounds yummy.

Someone once told me in order to get the full scope of an ice cream brand, try their basic Chocolate and Vanilla flavors first. Really? I ain't got calories to waste eating scoops of basic ice cream! Give me all the creative varieties that includes, nuts, caramels, and whatever swirls of Wonka creations you can come up with. Now that's a good way to spend some calories. :) Anyway, I didn't order any Van Leeuwen for myself, but caved a little by getting a taste of the Chocolate, meh it was okay. On the other hand the vanilla was better with its bold, sweet buttercream flavors. The two stars here was the kink that spoiled the taste testing...ice crystals. WTF! These tiny ice particles in both flavors diminished the experience. I do remember Van Leeuwen and his partners in their Yellow Ice Cream Truck many years back. Now they have a multitude of stores all over the nation and still growing. Maybe calendar in some Quality Control Inspections to correct improper storage? Anywho, had my little taste tests of Van Leeuwen. I'm good.

I loved this location! After a well-deserved hair & nails day with my daughters, we stopped by for a sweet treat before dinner. It's spacious, clean, & a great vibe. The lady at the counter was very friendly & welcoming. She let us sample three flavors we were interested in before deciding. I enjoyed the "Blueberry Jelly Doughnut." It was good and not as sweet as I thought it would be. My daughter wanted a "Cookies & Cream" milkshake, that she enjoyed. Next time we're in the area & want ice cream, we'll definitely be returning.

I'm not vegan, but I love when a place does vegan well. Their "regular" ice cream is great but so are their vegan offerings, especially the ones made with oat milk. A personal favorite is the banana bread pudding vegan, but today I had their seasonal strawberry sorbet. So delicious!

This parkslope location is spacious, clean, and bright with friendly staff. Came here late at night. They are open until 1am. There is a variety of ice-cream flavors to choose from. There's a variety of vegan ice cream to choose from as well. Little pricey, but the ice cream tastes good and is rich in flavor.

    The ambiance...

Went to Van Leeuwen Ice Cream on Sunday evening to get some ice cream treats. We actually started enjoying the treats before I realized, hey let me leave a review, this is a place I have not yet patronized. I had a Root Beer ice cream float, we also ordered a milk shake with Cookie Dough and Oat Milk, and two additional waffle coes in a bowl with multiple ice cream servings...which I believe was Cheese cake flavored ice cream and also Oreo and Peanut buttered flavored.. . We liked this spot, the staff was friendly, the store was clean and it is somewhere we will visit again..

After getting Thai dinner, we wanted to soothe our stomachs a little with some ice cream, so it was nice to come across Van Leeuwen on our way back to the car. We ordered a scoop of the cranberry crumble in a cup ($8). It was a mixture of sweet, savory, and chunks of soft cookie. It was a little pricey, but I like the unique but good combination. This location does not have as many choices as another I had visited.

We strolled in Van Leeuwen's in Park slope after grabbing a late lunch. Place is clean. Great customer service in giving us samples. Plenty of yummy flavors with Autumn special flavors. Tuesdays, it's first topping free. We were able to sample some of the new Autumn flavors. Cranberry crumble was okay. Sweet potato marshmallows was good. But, we resorted to an old time favorite which is the Big Face Affogato which is a yummy coffee ice cream! We bought a waffle cone one scoop with hot fudge. The ice cream was delicious! The waffle cone was stale, and the hot fudge definitely did not go well with the ice cream. We also bought a pint of Big Face Affogoto for home. The total for one scoop cone was $9.50 and another $10.50 for the pint. It was a bit pricey for the ice cream.

    How pricey is it?

The ice cream is a few bucks more than Baskin Robbins but the quality of the ingredients is far better. You're getting really good ice cream and they allow you to taste before you choose. They have a lot of unique flavors and seasonal ones that are…

You can see the products from the glass, the staff was quite warm and approachable. They were happy to let us taste test from the menu before committing. I saw lots of viable ice cream and ice cream bar options. Eventually I settled on the almond coconut bar. If you like Almond Joy, you'll be in heaven when you taste this. The flavor was rich without being intoxicating and it was the perfect treat for an unseasonably warm day. The prices are Fort Greene. This is not Baskin Robins per se. You're getting gourmet flavors in a pricey area so for me, that's not an issue. Sit outside, enjoy your ice cream, people watch and enjoy the experience.

Dear Customer Relations,…read more I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at one of your establishments. Last Saturday, I purchased an ice cream cake from your store. When my family and I cut into the cake, we discovered that I had been sold the wrong cake. I immediately called the store to explain the situation. The employee I spoke with apologized and told me not to worry, stating that if I came back the following day, the store would replace the cake at no charge. The next day, I returned to the store and explained that I was the customer who had been sold the wrong cake. The employees were already aware of the situation. However, instead of honoring what I had been told over the phone, I was asked whether I had a picture of the cake. That requirement had never been mentioned during my phone call. By that point, the cake had already been served and eaten at an outdoor gathering, so I no longer had it to photograph. I then asked to speak with a manager or supervisor because I felt the situation was being handled unfairly. No one responded. I then asked for your corporate contact information so I could address the matter directly. A gentleman who identified himself only as Kevin provided me with the corporate email address and told me to take a picture of it because they did not have enough business cards. After I thanked him, he asked what had happened, so I explained the situation from the beginning. At the end of the conversation, I politely asked for his name. He responded by saying, "I don't have to give you my name." I was surprised because I had remained calm, respectful, and had not raised my voice, used profanity, or behaved in a disrespectful manner. I simply wanted to know the name of the manager handling my complaint. When I asked again who the manager was, no one answered until it became apparent that Kevin himself was the manager. His refusal to identify himself and the way I was treated made me feel disrespected and dismissed as a customer. As a Black man, the interaction left me feeling as though I was being unfairly judged and treated differently. Whether intentional or not, that experience was humiliating and deeply upsetting. I have been a loyal customer who regularly visits your establishment to purchase ice cream, ice cream cakes, and milkshakes. I never expected to be treated in this manner over a simple mistake that was not my fault. I have attached my receipt and any other supporting documentation. I am requesting the following: A full refund for the ice cream cake I purchased. A formal investigation into how this incident was handled. Appropriate corrective action regarding Manager Kevin's conduct and customer service. A written response explaining how this matter will be resolved and what steps will be taken to ensure other customers are not treated similarly. I hope your company values its customers and will address this matter promptly and professionally. I look forward to your response.
