At my previous job, I passed by this place on my way home from work, so finally went in one day to try some of their ice cream. This is a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, so most of the patrons did not have masks on. Due to this, I tried to order as fast as I could. There is a machine where you pick your flavors, then bring the ticket to the counter and pay for it. Once payment is received, the staff puts together the order. Even though it was pretty busy inside, I got my ice cream fairly quickly. I decided to order 3 flavors because there were so many delicious sounding ones. I picked Halva (like the sesame candy bar), Caramel Nougat Swirl, and S'mores. All of them were delightful, but my favorite was the Halva. It truly tasted like the candy in ice cream form, and was sweet, creamy, and wonderful! I'll probably be back at some point. There were quite a few other flavors that sounded tasty, like the Coffee Expresso, Hazelnut, Toffee, Peanut Butter Cup, and more. This place is excellent. I always get the fruit salad or the ice-cream (both regular and sugar free). They actually give you ripe fresh fruit unlike a lot of other places. The sauce that they serve with the fruit is delicious! I've ordered the ice cream and the ingredient are always fresh and the ice cream is delicious and creamy. This place has plenty of ice cream choices both dairy and non-dairy, kosher ice cream. The amount of ice cream get for the price point is ridiculous in a good way. My husband and I purchased a milkshake, a two scoop cup & my insanely large chocolate dipped waffle cone with 3 scoops for I believe under $12.00 or so. I opted for two scoops of the chocolate dairy and one scoop of the razzle-dazzle, everything was very good. They also have a bunch of frozen ice cream cakes and frozen dessert options. Dairy and non-dairy options and plenty of seating available. Non dairy tend to be pretty melted so I always go to the dairy options. Chocolate dipped cones with different nuts or sprinkles and plain cone options, too. They offer ice cream cakes, different sizes of cups, cones, and they'll even pack you a pint of their flavors! Prices are reasonable but the flavor of the ice cream doesn't feel like it's from a mom-and-pop which breaks my heart a little/lot. The employees are kind and I didn't feel like I was ever judged for my clothes, or my lack of Hasidic Jewish background. I come to Ice Cream House a lot because I work super close to it. The food is good! I've only gotten their ice cream once but I get coffee, bagels, tuna salad on bagels, and salads pretty often. The ingredients are fresh and there are plenty of toppings to choose from. Just don't get the cheese! It's not real and it's way too salty. The popcorn machine is great!! Everyone at my office loves the popcorn from here. It's just the perfect amount of salty and cheap too. The guys who work here are friendly and may seem to be working slowly at times, but I think it's hard to tell because they often only have two or three people working during rush hours. The Ice Cream House could be considered as nothing special. Located in the Hasidic part of Williamsburg, you can call it a Cold Stone Creamery for Hasidic Jews... But you would be wrong if you did! Is it a nice Ice Cream Parlor, YES, but what makes this great is, if you are someone like me, that cannot enjoy Dairy because of allergies / lactose intolerance, then this is the place to be! Now those without lactose issues, won't understand this, but those that DO have issues... when was the last time you had a Soft Serve Ice Cream on a cone? Did you ever have one that was lactose free? For those with lactose/dairy issues, finding soft serve is extremely rare! There are hard packed options like Lactaid Ice Cream and some places around the city, but The Ice Cream House is one of the rare places to have Non-Dairy Soft Serve! They also have tons of cool flavors for the Non-Dairy hard packed as well! They also offer tons of Parve/Non-dairy ice cream sticks and cookies as well in the back. The guys there are really cool, and as long as you don't go in there totally disrespectful, management and the community do not go crazy. They make fruit smoothies too and they also have a salad bar, which was good, but very pricey with toppings and what not! Nevertheless, is this a great 100% A++ Ice Cream parlor. No! wowwww I came here to give a glowingly swimmingly review then i see loads of bullocks about womens rights and showing skin. My friend ordered the vanilla soft serve. They have a lot of choices. I decided to go with the chocolate softee. Not bad but I wished it was bit more chocolatety...I now stick with the softee swirl. This place is huge and offers and astounding variety of vegan ice creams, including soft serve (2 or 3 varieties), regular vegan ice cream in a cup or cone (about 12 flavors), vegan ice cream cakes, and novelty desserts. I'm not sure if this is the same as Klein's kosher ice cream or if they just buy from Klein's (which is also the ice cream used at Food Swings and other veg restaurants). I got a cone with 2 scoops, which was about $3.50, which is pretty cheap. Definitely more cheaper than upscale places like Lula's and Stogo. That said, Ice Cream Castle's ice cream is made with tons of water, sugar, and I think corn syrup. The upscale places make small batch coconut, hemp, and cashew-based ice creams so you get what you paid for. I don't recall what flavors I had but I've had tons of Klein's ice cream so it doesn't really matter. They're all good (minus pistachio and coffee, in my opinion, which I've never cared for). When I was in, the service was friendly, but I feel compelled to share an experience of a female friend that went once. She was told that she wasn't allowed to enter because she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. As this place is run by super orthodox Jews, they have modesty laws (posted on the building!). My friend said the people were very rude and wouldn't let any women enter, but let the guys in. I didn't have any issues when I went so it may depend who's working. This place was cute, lots of different options for treats. I ate from their salad bar, it was okay, nothing mind-blowing but the variety is good. Three friends who ate from it got food poisoning though, and I noticed a DEAD FLY in a bin of coleslaw and a few other bugs floating around, despite the place being considered a strict level of kosher (bugs are a BIG deal with kosher). So I'd advise anyone else be careful. I also had the soft serve ice cream, which was very creamy and pretty good, but doesn't stick out to me as being special. Although I didn't try their other foods I was amazed at the options available like waffles, nachos, a juice bar, and lots of vegan ice cream flavors. Overall, this place was okay, I wouldn't mind going there for some ice cream or nachos, especially with friends who keep cholev yisrael (and as far as nacho cheese, kosher is fairly hard for me to find in general), but I've definitely had better both in terms of the food itself and in seeing other ice cream shops that I feel have a little more charm in their atmosphere.
