Cute little icie and ice cream spot in the neighborhood. If you check in on Yelp and show them the check in they will give you a discount. They have an order counter outside so you can order from either inside or outside. Ordering outside is nice since you can skip the trip indoors. They have so many different icie flavors so it is refreshing to try different ones here that are different from the icie carts on the street. If you want to taste something, they will let you have a small sample of it. The prices are definitely higher than the street icie carts but the quality and flavors are better. The air conditioning inside is not that strong so it may not be a good place to escape a very hot day. read more

I came here with my daughter on a very hot day. It's a simple ice cream shop that also has a window you can order from. They have so many ice cream flavors and Italian ice flavors. They did only have one person working the day I went. But he was moving pretty quickly so no complaints. During the hottest days of the summer I walked several blocks for the Italian ice and it was well worth it, once 3 times in one day! While I've tried dozens of flavors, Holy Cannoli and anything related to Peanut Butter Cup is my expert recommendation. On my first morning in my apt. I'm standing there in my unpacked kitchen, frying eggs and bacon, in my unflattering boxer briefs. Just as I begin to whip up some hollandaise sauce I notice out my kitchen window two young female Louie G employees staring up at me from the back of the ice cream shop. I mentally make a note to get a shade for that window, and wait a few days before I buy ice cream...hopefully they don't recognize me. About 8 months later, with Louie G's closed for the season I have been there roughly a dozen times, and am still sans a kitchen window shade. The staff is young and seasonal but always friendly. They make a delicious frozen lemonade which is great for hot summer days albeit a bit large for one person. Their list of ice creams is extensive with flavors ranging from common to the obscure, but not being much of an ice cream guy myself, I focus on the Italian ices....of which I believe there to be over 50 flavors. While lemon and strawberry are excellent staples, try Kiwi, its spectacular. read more

Be warned! The soft-serve here is no ordinary cold dessert. It is almost shockingly rich and creamy and is served maybe closer to room temperature than to freezing--I suspect making it colder would render it hard like actual ice cream. This might be the sign of quality for some, but simpletons like myself, bred on humble McDonald's and Mister Softee soft-serves, may prefer the cheaper, airy, freezing stuff to this. That said, the italian ice is worthy of repeat visits. It's not the hard ice you'd eat with a little wooden spoon, or even a stiff sorbet. I tried root beer, and it was not as refreshing as actual root beer. The fifth star is for the waffle ice cream sandwich, which blew my socks off. I told the kid working the place I wanted one and he warned me that it would take like 10 minutes.
