Finish quality on their black torquer 450 exhaust is terrible. I have had Vance & Hines exhaust systems on my motorcycles for as long as I can remember. Always love the quality and sound, but that has changed today. I bought a 2022 Harley Davidson Ultra, brand new from Fort Wayne Harley Davidson back in 2022. I still have my 2004 Harley Davidson Fatboy - with a Vance & Hines exhaust system, which seems to still be near perfect, despite having over 50,000 miles on it. When I bought my ultra, I knew exactly what exhaust system I wanted to put on it. There was no question in my mind that it was going to be Vance & Hines. I rarely ride the Ultra, and typically only take it out when my wife and I want to take a scenic cruise through the country, or a trip to the lake. I still ride my FLSTFI or Sporty 95% of the time. The Ultra has less than 5000 miles on it - and doesn't get taken out when I know it's going to rain, and is still in pristine condition otherwise. It's very clear that the motorcycle is not abused, nor is it ever left out in the weather, but I noticed about a month ago that there was a rust spot on the side of the right side slip on (Left side is perfect, so that tells me that there might've just been an issue with the finish application on this side). The bike is and has been in a garage, with three other motorcycles, 90% of its life. There is no reason for a rust spot to develop on this exhaust with so few miles unless the product was faulty from the manufacturer. I would question it, even if the motorcycle had 15,000 or 20,000 miles on it, but less than 5,000, kept in a garage, and it's already rusting? That screams to me, - *Quality problem*! I reached out to Vance & Hines through Fort Wayne Harley Davidson to see if there was anything they are willing to do for me on this, since I have been a loyal customer Vance & Hines for years, but they declined to do anything about it. I get that the bike was purchased late in the season, 2022, which I only put a couple hundred miles on it before the season was over, but wow! I did not expect such low quality from a high priced motorcycle exhaust manufacturer. I was hoping they would stand behind their product, but no. This will be the last set of Vance & Hines exhaust systems that I purchase. They lost a loyal customer, over what probably cost them less than $100 to make. I would've been happy to install it myself, if they would've said "Yeah, it shouldn't be rusting! We'll send you the right side slip on right away!" Just be aware, if you are looking to purchase their product, that Vance & Hines quality seems to be declining, at least from my perspective. I will not have rusty parts on an otherwise pristine $30,000 motorcycle with less than 5000 miles on the clock, so I am looking for a new exhaust provider. Several of the riders that I ride with agree that there's a clear problem with this exhaust. read more

Called sat on hold for 18 minutes and then call disconnected. called back told wait 30 minutes then it went to voicemail and I left message and emails. Tried again after 4 hours later and was told number I was #4 in line so I hung up. Waited 2 days no response so I texted and called Mat who had texted me the exhaust type on my ride. Again no response so next day called left message and text filled out warrant form. Again 48 hours later nothing except now when I call it goes straight to voicemail.Well enough is enough and I'm calling Discover issuing a chargeback and buying a Dynajet tuner. Tried live chat and was taken to faq page repeatedly . tried calling and after 25 minutes on hold got message that said customer service not available, leave a message. Bad Product - Horrible customer service Bad enough that they ran an absolute piece of garbage for the Honda Navi. I've waited nearly 3 weeks for a refund and now it seems I'm starting over. It took the second guy 10 minutes just to find me in your system.....They are emailing me a label, a label I may or may not be getting for the past 3 weeks, so I can take their broken exhaust for a ride to the UPS store and ship it back to them. It will be well over a month before I see the start of a refund. The runaround is what is going to keep me from ever buying anything from them again. You should have bucked up after Bob's screw up and just refunded me. Sending pictures for the 3rd time is a waste of time if I still need to box it up for you and send it back. Be professional, send the return box to the customer or, at this point, just apologize and issue the refund. read more

I have to give a big thank you to Bob Ornelas and the staff at Vance and Hines for helping me with a broken baffle on my Pro Pipe. They sent me 2 baffles and both ended up breaking so they sent me a new muffler under warranty. They were very patient and put up with my daily calls. I have had numerous vance and hines products, intakes exhaust and tuners. I ALWAYS recommend this company to everyone for its excellent products and support for them. I have always been impressed by there customer service but recently I had some damage done to my bike that required me to order some replacement parts. Cheyne McNab helped me out on both my my calls. He went above and beyond with makings a bad situation good. He was able to get all the parts I needed ordered and shipped with in the same day. Called in as the website didn't answer my questions. After 21 minutes back and forth finally talking to Bob, I was told " just go to the web, everything is there" and was hung up on. Called back to find out who to elevate this poor customer service to and that request was refused by a young lady and she hung up on me. I guess V&H has so much food on the tables that they can basically tell customers to F-off! Unbelievable what has become of Terry and Byron's company. Especially, Cheyne McNab, who thinks It's appropriate to respond to a customer in this manner. I recently installed a FP3 on my FXBB and started getting an error code for the idle speed control. This was on Saturday around 7:30-8pm. I sent an email and because of it being the weekend I expected to get a reply Monday (today). Surprise to myself they actually got back to me yesterday asking to send in the map. I did what they asked and the bike was running great within a short amount of time. I am very satisfied with the customer service This was my 1st V&H purchase but I will definitely be prioritizing them for any future part purchases. read more

Very bad experience after 19 years of loyal of this brand on all my motorcycle, DO NOT PURCHASE THE NEW 450 slips-ons TITAN OR SIMILAR, VERY BAD SOUND. After spoke with a costumer service supervisor about my case, just purchase a brand new set of slips-on for my harley and was the worse experience and very low sound wish is not common on Vance &Hines, ask about an exchange or some type of solution and nothing happens. Install my new slips-on and immediately don't like the sound, ride about 40 miles and was a very low but dip, but no sound. I hope i can talk to an uper management of this company that i was loyal all this years an some one explain to me this i purchase was the worse experience on my life buying some pipes. VRSC 08 NIGHT ROD WIDOW SLIP-ONS These pipes make the VRSCDX, which normally sounds like a collection of sewing machines (or, much like it's big brother the Porsche), sound much more like a Ducati. Very throaty at idle, and then more Ducati like around 3-5k RPM's. 7-9k RPM's it actually seems quieter and a big change in sound (a lot of bottom drops out). If you feel like your VROD just doesn't sound like a Harley, these pipes make a huge difference. They complement the bike as well by extending the black lines of the pipes and just leaving a hint of chrome to cap off the ends. TORQUE ADDITION Supposed to add about 20 pounds of torque. The difference is noticeable. It makes the heavy 08's ride a bit closer to the lighter 06 models. More noticeable greater than or = 4k RPM. FOR HARLEY SOFT BAGS Plenty of room from the bags to the pipes... no worries! MINUS A STAR I feel like these babies need to be tweaked a bit more to gain more consistency to the sound throughout the RPM's. Still, would not hesitate to recommend these pipes to any VRSC riders. read more

WOW I'm very impressed with this company. I had picked up a Vance & Hines slip on for my Quad. I needed a spark arrestor so i called in and spoke to Dave. He helped me get all sorted out and i should get my new parts in a few days. Dave also gave me some great technical advice and on what direction to go in. He went above and beyond to help me and that's what this country is lacking; People who know their stuff and are helpful. I have bought many V&H products over the years, spending thousands of dollars on several bikes, and the first time I actually need something from them, I get nothing. I have a 19 Road King Special with V&H intake, exhaust, and the FP3 tuner. The tuner would not work with my bike, meaning every tune that I was told to install by them still didn't work (made the bike lose power across the board and had horrible acceleration) flashed it back to the stock tune and it ran perfect. Long story short, I called, explained several times to end up back to square 1...They never mentioned anything about sending me a new tuner knowing that was the problem. I Highly Recommend This Company. I could not be happier or more impressed with Vance and Hines and their industry leading customer service. Impressed with their line of products and the high quality in which they are made, i have purchased several different V&H products for my Street Glide. These products are heavy duty and very, very well made. It's for this reason I have spent so much money with this company. I discovered that the chrome on one of my muffler end caps was bubbling up. Even the best of companies can make a mistake now and then so don't take my problem as any reflection on V&H and their usual level of high quality products. My problem was an anomaly. I called V&H and spoke with Arsenio. I explained my problem and with no hesitation whatsoever, he told me that they'd have a new end cap back to me within two weeks. No questions. No hassles. No grief. Nothing but a cheerful promise to make things right. They didn't even ask for me to send them back the damaged one as I was prepared to do. This is a great company to do business with. They engineer and manufacture great products and on the very rare occasions that a part isn't absolutely perfect, and this is indeed VERY rare, you can count on them to do the right thing. read more

I wanted to put out a great big thank you to Cheyne Mcnab of Vance and Hines. I installed a FP3 tuner on my 2016 Fatboy Lo shortly after buying it last summer. My wife got me cruise Control for Christmas. On a forum I read that if I turned on my tune after the install at the dealer I would lose the cruise in the ECm. I emailed Vance and Hines and messaged them on this forum and within a day Cheyne got me all set! What fabulous customer service! At night on New Years! The FP3 tuner is the best product of its kind and the customer service that is included with this is second to none! read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars... First week of June I called Vance and Hines and ordered new baffles and endcap for my wifes Harley... A Birthday present... They informed me that it was back-ordered 30 days. I called back early July to check order and was informed that the agent helping me in June, Never submitted my fu@#in order...Reordered and was told same thing... 30 days... Well here we are on August 8th and I was just told that that item is now discontinued and they have none in stock. They suggested that I call JP Cycle and order from them... Well... I will NEVER use or suggest Vance and Hines ever again. I ended up calling JP Cycle and I paid less than what Vance and Hines was charging for their own dam part... 3 day delivery... In May of 2016 I purchased and installed an FP3 on my 2011 Heritage Softail and I couldn't be more pleased. Their support has been awesome. Cheyne McNab from V&H has been awesome working with me getting the perfect map for my bike. I recently upgraded to V&H Softail Duals and again Cheyne was right there working with me to get the right map, as my bike is a bit custom with previous engine upgrades. The bike runs great and of course sounds awesome. I highly recommend Vance and Hines for their great products, but more importantly their support and customer service. read more

It's not often that I am this impressed with the way a company stands behind their product. Recently I ordered a V&H exhaust system from Amazon, but I receieved the wrong mufflers. The distributor wanted me to pay to ship the items back and then he would give me a refund. I didn't want a refund I wanted the parts I ordered. I reluctantly decided to call the Vance and Hines tech support line and they requested a few pictures of the defects and I receieved my new mufflers the next day. I live in Hawaii and wasn't expecting them for a 2 weeks! I was blown away with the friendly assistance I received from Ryan Guardado. Thank you for all your help! read more

Just wanted to give Raymond a big 5 Start Review! I will say my baffle does fall apart every 2 years and the pipe did rust fast for a flat black finish but I LOVE THE SOUND 2014 Street Glide Special. Anyway called about the baffle again and needed a new chrome end piece, after reading bad reviews I was skeptical on the experience. Raymond was great ! End cap was in stock he was able to ship immediately and gave me a sweet deal ! He also explained that they needed to custom fabricate the baffle it would take a few weeks. As promised it showed up today ! Maybe two weeks tops and everything is installed and back to normal! Thanks for proving the internet wrong and keeping another good loyal customer ! read more

Last weekend at the Laughlin River Run, I decided to have a New head pipe and tuner installed on my 2016 $40k CVO Ultra, Screaming Eagle 110 with only 2,400 mi. The bike was running perfect as it should of with only 2400 mi. before pipe and tuner. I had a choice of vendors and chose V.& H. due to reputation. After 6 plus hrs. of wait time due to several bikes wanting upgraded systems, My bike was completed. My wife & I loaded up & started back to hotel. Unfortunately the bike was running extremely rough, ck. engine light flashing temp light on and bike was overheating within the first 1/4 mile. It was now closing in on 10:00 P.M. at the last day for V. & H. to be at the venue. I headed back to the vendor area and discussed the issues with V. & H. staff. The staff could not figure out the issues in the field. They decided to take my bike in their semi truck back to their shop. The staff gave us a ride back to our hotel and were very accommodating. However, now without bike, I lost two days of riding after preparing all week for the River run and spending much $$ to just get to the event. "Not real happy", but I understand things happen and thus far the crew at V.& H. have done what they said they would do. They worked non stop all weekend in 110 degree heat. I was sure they were as frustrated as I was with this bike. We will see how this all turns out as the bike is now in the hands of V.& H. I will add to my review when repaired. Hopefully great news from V. & H. when they complete the bike. "GREAT NEWS" Turns out the water pump took a dump simultaneously when the work was completed. "A lack of R & D. on Harley?" I now believe the cat and the 110 degree weather were the culprit. Nothing to do with V. & H. The staff at VANCE & HINES had my water pump fixed, installed a nice set of mufflers, re-tuned the bike and delivered the bike to my home 100 miles away from their shop "PRO BONO" To say I am over the top amazed and ecstatic would be a under statement. It has been more that 8 weeks and Vance & Hines has still not delivered the replacemnt part. They have agreed to replace the heat shield under its warranty as the product broke prior to the expiration of its one year warranty. I purchased Vance and Hines Big Radius 2-1 exhaust for my 2012 Harley Dyna less than a year ago. With tax these pipes cost over $900. The welds which hold the brackets to the heat shields are not strong enough. My rear heat shield detached at 50 MPH on highway 1. Fortunately, it did not injure anyone. This same problem presented itself on my friend's 2012 Sportster although he has the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2-2 system. It is clear that the heat shields are very poorly made and dangerous as these are large metal parts that easily break loose under normal operating conditions. I contacted V&H and they informed me the replacement part costs over $230 and takes 6 weeks to get. I highly recommend avoiding this product due to poor quality control and inadequate problem resolution. Rather than not ride for six weeks and waste another $230 I will replace the entire exhaust system with another brand. What a shame because I like the look of the pipes. read more

I have been a Harley rider for many years and I will say V & H has always had good parts. That said, there service has made me so enraged I will NEVEr buy their product again. I purchased a Vance and Hines exhaust from another company at a much cheaper prices, but it didn't come with some parts. I called Vance and Hines and asked to order the few parts, and they told me I needed 2 small pieces of sheet metal (about 2 inches wide and 3 inches long) and about 3-4 bolts. These items are shipped overnight, and I was charged $137 dollars for 2 small pieces of metal, AND there were no bolts in the box, rendering the pieces USELESS! I call and speak to Eddie Gonzalez (manager) and he says they made a mistake and they'll send out the bolts right away. 2 days later, I finally get sent a tracking number stating that it was sent UPS ground (I originally paid for overnight shipping) and could be here in 4-5 days. SUCH A USELESS WASTE OF TIME!!! There are many different ties you can buy motorcycle parts from, I would recommend NOT using Vance and Hines. read more

I placed an order February 2016 and still for 6 month they did not send my part , they said it will be shipped overnight , but still nothing for 6 month.
