I've started going here for my two bikes and they do a good job. They never scratch the rim and are very prompt/responsive. Never waited more than an hour or two for a turn around time. I will say what is strange is since I've been going here, they claim to never dispose of the used/bad/changed tire(s). At least, with me. I have used MC Tire Works on and off for about twenty years and with the exception of a few pinched tubes, I received satisfactory service. However, recently I had Jim replace a broken spoke on my rear dirt bike tire. Shortly after that, I broke another one. Jim told me that the spokes were breaking because they were loose. I told him that I tighten them with the wrench that came with the bike. He told me that there is no way the stock wrench can tighten the rear spokes tight enough, so I agreed to pay $50 to have him tighten all the spokes. A couple of months later, another spoke broke...this time right at the nipple. This clearly reflected that the spoke was tightened TOO TIGHT. Before this happened, I just trusted Jim's advice that the tighter the better when tightening spokes. However, if you google the question, it will tell you that over tightening spokes can and WILL break them.. and in this case it was evident that over tightening is what caused the break since it the nipple broke in half. In addition I also consulted a friend who is a former Pro Motocross Champion who also worked professionally with dirt bike wheels, who confirmed that, indeed, the spoke broke because it was over tightened. When I confronted Jim about the matter, he denied that an over tightened spoke causes breakage and refused to fix it for free. After reminding him that not only had I done business with him many times over the years, that in this particular case it was irrefutable that the spoke broke because it was too tight. He then said that my Motocross champion friend was full of crap and that he never saw me before in his life... which was a bold face lie. That was the end of it. Jim has no integrity. read more

Shows you what I know. I did everything backwards. Instead of finding a shop to replace my rear tire, I bought one first elsewhere then found the shop. I have heard about this place but never been their personally. So I took my new tire and the wheel I removed from the bike to MC Tires. And they did the work. But if I sought them out first and gone to their shop in the first place I would have saved a good sum of money. They had the tire I needed at a lower price from where I got mine on Amazon. I hesitated to write as Paul did find probably the only Michelin Commander III rear tire my husband wanted. He had it shipped in from Georgia within 4 days, my husband and I were thrilled, I have Michelins on my Roadking and my Lexus and I've loved them dearly and my husband was going to take a chance and follow my lead for a change. Since it was my husband's birthday I was going to pick it up, we have the tire installing equipment in our garage since we have 4 Harley's in the family my brilliant husband thought it was a good investment, however, after work he surprised me and rode up to MC and was going to have it installed on his 2019 RoadGlide Special for his birthday 1/24/2021. My husband patiently waited for Paul to finish his lunch. Paul installed the tire, my husband assumed Paul knew what he was doing, yea, ASSUME...DON'T GO THERE. By the time he got home, I was driving on our street home I saw my husband down on our driveway!!! A 62 year old guy who's been riding since he was 13, rides every day to work, NEVER trailers, rides long distances, etc.!!! Paul didn't tighten the screws on his exhaust and other screws so by the time my husband got home to our house in Anaheim his whole backend was jiggling apart and my husband...who NEVER GETS PI**ED off was so livid that he jumped the clutch in the driveway, dropped his bike, now has a scratched saddlebag and other scratches on his beautiful bike!!! WTFFF!!! Yep over $400 and now we have damages!!! So he had to take the truck and go to HBHD and go get screws to screw his bike back together....THANKS FOR NOTHING!!! So I've lived in San Pedro since 2017...I've always drive past this place. In august of 2021 I purchased my first motorcycle...and since then I've probably replaced my tires 4 times by now. With manufacturers being tight with materials, the tires I get are rarely in stock. Every time I buy tires I buy an extra set because of this, so that when the next time comes to change I already have them. I finally decided to stop by this place and see what they can do. I walked up and asked how much it was to change the tires. He asked me what kind I was looking for. I told him I already had a set, and they are the Q3 plus. He said bring in the wheels off the bike and he ll do it for 45 each. Which I'm fine with. However I have no place to take off my wheels and asked him how much it was if wheels were on the bike still. To my surprise he said they won't touch it. Ok, cool...I'll take my business elsewhere. I understand that they want to make a sale on tires. But the fact is I'm not going to buy a set when I already have a set. I've run into this with shops before...they won't do maintenance or changes if you don't buy the material from them. Ok, it's 2022...I'll take my business elsewhere. I would've been willing to pay 90-100 bucks a tire. But since they shut me down str8 out, I'll be happy to just pass this place daily. And honestly after I've read the other lower star reviews, I'm glad they didn't change my tires. No response or reply will get me to come back and try this business...I'll happily ride to Pasadena Yamaha and have my stuff done there. read more

I'm really happy with their service. I was looking for a shop that could fix a small air leak on my back tire that I had for two days, and everyone was booked. I'm lucky to live a block away from a gas station that has an air machine. I used that machine four times in two days and I was fed up. Luckily I called another shop and they recommended MC Tire Works. As soon as I knew about them I called them to make sure they were open and then rode to their place. On Saturday 3-27-2021 - I took my Street Bob in for a New Metzeler Cruisetec on the front... I thought the price was right, but the headache was to follow.... This is my Story... So the Tire gets installed, and I should have known things were gonna probably go bad, because instead of using a Torque Wrench to tighten things they tightened the Axle Nut with a Boxed End Wrench & a Soft Blow Hammer, which I thought was kinda strange for an Expert Tire Shop to do... so anyway I pay for the Tire and ride home, and everything's good, or so I thought. A few days later I go to get on my Bike and I take a look at the New Front Tire that was just installed, and it was on Backwards - the Rotation Arrow on the Side of the Tire is pointed the wrong way ! I'm thinking WTH, how can a Motorcycle Tire Shop, that claims to be Experts at installing Motorcycle Tires do something like that ? So the next day I call the shop, and I think Paul answered the phone, and I tell him the issue, he kinda chuckled and he said to bring it back and they would remount it correctly. Before I took it back to the Shop on April 3, 2021 which was a week later, I decided to checked the torque on the axle nut, just to see if they had it right using their Wrench & Hammer method, and it wasn't tight enough. It took another 1/8 of a turn to get it to 70 Ft-Lbs. and then I looked the Axle Cap on the Righthand Side of the fork and it didn't look right to me either, so I took a picture of it. ( it was not right at All ) When I got to the Shop Paul probably knew I was the guy that had just called, and one of the other guys there said he was probably the one who put that Tire on the Rim Backwards. Then Paul said you know there's always a 50/50 Chance of putting the Tire on Backwards. I'm thinking really, that makes No Sense. These Guys are supposed to be Experts ? So I mention the Torque issue on the Axle Nut and the way the Axle Cap was installed... He said it will be Right this time don't worry... They finished the Mounting and Balancing for the Second time and I leave, the next day I checked the Torque on the Axle Nut, and it was the same issue exactly, it took another 1/8 of a turn to get it to 70 Ft-Lbs. and then I once again took a look at the Axle Cap and it didn't look completely right to me again, so I took another picture of it. ( it was a little closer, but it still wasn't right ) and then it Hit Me... These so called Experts at M.C. Tire Works Endangered not only my Life but my passengers Life with their carelessness. I'm was getting ready for a Long Trip, that's the reason I got the New Front Tire, and If I had not notice that Direction Arrow was wrong on the side of that Tire, who knows what would have happened to Us on our Trip. If you Google "Direction Arrow on Motorcycle Tire", this is what it says: "One of the most critical mark on a motorcycle tire is the rotation arrow, or arrows. Today's specialized tires generally have a tread pattern that must go in only one direction. Some manufactures even state that their tread patterns are designed to disperse water, and by mounting the tire backwards, they won't work. " I believe that Quality Work and Rider Safety should be First and Foremost when it comes to Motorcycle Tires... but I'm guessing with that 50/50 chance of getting it Wrong, that Paul had mentioned, there has to be many other Riders out there right now who got their tires at M.C. Tire Works, who didn't check to see if the Direction Arrows were going the Right Direction on their New Tire(s), and They don't realize that their Tire(s) are installed wrong, and that these Tire(s) are not able to work as they were designed... That's a Real Scary Thought - Please Check your Tires Paul, I want my money Back... J. Cool read more

Look, I've been going to these guys for years. You can probably get a cheaper deal elsewhere but your riding a motorcycle! 2 wheels. Safety is a BIG deal. These guys are experts with a lot of experience. If you want some kid with limited skills working for minimum wage at a multi brand shop who just wants your money working on your bike to save a few bucks, it's your choice. This review is for tires on a 1982 Honda gl500 beauty. Came in and asked a ton of questions and they answered everyone without making me feel like I was a bother. I purchased an awesome shinko white wall tire and the gentleman explained if I bring in my wheel he will change it for next to nothing. It was a great deal and he made me feel confident I could remove my own rear wheel, which I did and it was also a very rewarding experience.
