Had a really frictionless and painless sale of our Subaru Crosstrek here. Highly recommend. Here's…read morehow it went: -I went to CARMAX website and punched in my VIN # and a few details about miles and condition. They gave me a competitive quote. -I scheduled an appointment to sell it. -I arrived at the appointment. They checked out the car and gave me a check for the quoted price. -We were out of there in about 35 minutes total. Easy peasy. No hassles. No bait and switch. No haggling. So nice.

Most of the damage to the vehicle I purchased happened at Carmax while it was being processed…read more I had an SUV shipped from a Carmax in Colorado to this facility. It had a few very minor scratches that were documented. I inspected the car first thing and it looked good and I asked to take it out for a drive and we began some paperwork to make it happen. The salesperson pulled the SUV into a receiving area for my test drive. While getting in, I noticed multiple vertical deep scratches on the driver's side door I hadn't noticed when I did my preliminary walkaround inspection just 20 minutes earlier. They were actually more serious than any of the minor documented scratches disclosed when the vehicle was shipped so I didn't understand how they could have been missed. I mentioned it to the sales rep upon return and was promptly dismissed. He didn't seem concerned at all and urgently ran off to return the car to the secure lot. Maybe they became more noticeable from the different lighting and direct sunlight. He mentioned later that he had trouble putting the lockbox back on the window because it kept rolling back down while he was trying to resecure it in the full up position. The plastic wind guard trim didn't help, Im sure. Apparently the car was detecting the lockbox as an obstruction as if there was a finger in the way triggering it to fully retract as a safety feature automatically, taking the lockbox down with it. I didn't think much about his comment at first, but put it all together after the fact. When the window was rolled down, the heavy lockbox Carmax struggled to hang on the window glass scratched the door...multiple times as they were fussing with it. The scratches are vertically aligned and exactly below where the lockbox was. Most scratches are horizontal, so these were odd looking. They weren't disclosed in the car listing because the car was most likely damaged in the care of Carmax after I paid to have it shipped. Since I am already into the car for shipping costs, no matter what I do, even if I return it, I'm out at least the $800 I sunk in shipping. So even walking away would be really expensive. The 2023 SUV only had 5K miles on it. Now I own it, and it looks like hell. I'm actually ill over this for not being more assertive. They ruined a really great SUV and stuck me with their sloppy damage and negligence. It looks like it was aggressively keyed. What I ordered and shipped, wasn't what I got. Now I get to drive it around, potentially for years, looking like someone who gets their car keyed. BUYER BEWARE. Don't give Carmax ANY money in advance. Don't have a car shipped. Just wait for the right one to pop up locally. Before you drive away, do a final inspection and match up any damage with what was originally disclosed.

I purchased my vehicle from Dick Says Yes (Dick Hannah Dealerships) toward the end of December, and…read moremy experience since then has been nothing short of exhausting and deeply disappointing. In just one month of ownership, the vehicle has already been brought in for service three separate times (not including the other two occasions I've left the car for diagnostic). I most recently picked the car up from servicing 2/2/2026, only to have the service engine light turn back on almost immediately (2/3/2026). I was informed by the dealership that their diagnostic equipment does not provide in‑depth readings, and that I may need to take the vehicle to Mercedes for proper diagnosis, entirely at my own expense. Being told I could be financially responsible for continued mechanical issues on a vehicle I have owned for barely a month is unacceptable. This situation has caused significant inconvenience, including repeatedly having to arrange alternative transportation while the car is being serviced. Purchasing a vehicle should come with reliability and peace of mind--not constant breakdowns, repeat service visits, and uncertainty from the start. I regret purchasing this vehicle from Dick Hannah / Dick Says Yes dealerships. Based on the repeated mechanical failures, unresolved engine issues, and the short time frame in which all of this has occurred, I strongly believe I was sold a lemon. At no point during the sales process was I advised of existing or ongoing mechanical issues. Now, after the purchase, I am being told that I may ultimately be responsible for repair costs related to problems that have existed since the vehicle was sold to me. Due to the seriousness and persistence of these issues, I am actively seeking further resolution through formal consumer‑protection and legal avenues, including: Washington State Lemon Law Administration (Office of the Attorney General) Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division BBB Auto Line Other purchaser‑rights and consumer protection agencies Potential legal consultation regarding Washington State Lemon Law protections I am posting this review across multiple platforms to document my experience and seek proper resolution. I strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to proceed with caution and to be fully aware of the risks involved.

I was very clear from the start that I needed to confirm a few specific mechanical details before making the drive from south of Portland. Specifically I asked for a cold start video to listen for engine health and a quick confirmation on whether the coolant pipes had been upgraded to aluminum. These are deal breaker items on these cars and it takes less than two minutes to check. Despite calling the main office and texting both the business line and a personal line for a salesman named Chris I got absolutely nowhere. I waited over 24 hours for a simple response and was met with total silence. If a dealer cannot be bothered to provide basic transparency or even a "we are working on it" text to a vetted buyer with an appointment then they are telling you exactly how they operate. It feels like they are just waiting for someone who won't ask the right questions about the car's history. I ended up cancelling my visit because the lack of communication is a massive red flag for any major mechanical issues they might be hiding. If you value your time or want a seller who actually stands behind their inventory I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Mitch is fantastic. No, wait, Mitch is ALL CAPS FANTASTIC…read more He is personable, kind, honest, and sincere. He is also funny and cool; as one of the other reviewers said, you'd like to have a beer with him. You can work with Mitch in two ways. One: he might happen to have the perfect car for you sitting in his lot already. If so, lucky you! He only sells cars that are in great shape, often managing to find what I call "car unicorns" (one-owner cars with great maintenance records from states without road salt or flooding). Two: if Mitch doesn't happen to have the right car for you, you can use him as a sort of "car sommelier." He'll help you figure out what kinds of cars you might like (which was super helpful for me), steer you away from bad years or bad models, and then, when you know what you want, he'll source you a great car. When the car arrives in PDX, he'll take it to a reputable mechanic to make sure it's in tip top shape. We were definitely going to use Mitch to source a car for us, but, alas, we unexpectedly found our own extremely rare "unicorn" at a different dealer. But I will absolutely use Mitch's services when it's time to replace our next car. In fact, I am looking forward to it. Shocking! Thanks, Mitch. You rock.
