When Dr Leung explained that I would not be having the procedure that day, I lost my composure and burst into tears. I was so dejected and frustrated with my dental issue; this was my third dental appointment that left me disappointed and with my abscess unresolved. This kind and very compassionate man, who had never before met me, offered to see me before the clinic opened on the following Monday to get my extraction done. I finally got my impacted wisdom teeth (all four third molars) removed at Vancouver Oral Surgery Group on 300 SE 120th Ave in Vancouver, WA, and I'm so glad I chose them. I was pretty nervous going in, but Dr. Martin Seidenschmid (everyone calls him "Doc Martin") made the whole thing so much easier. He has a great sense of humor, took the time to explain exactly what was going to happen in simple terms, and was incredibly gentle, quick and skilled during the procedure. I barely felt any discomfort afterward. Just some manageable soreness that was way better than I expected. His experience showed as I was expecting impacted wisdom teethe to be a lot bigger deal to get out of there! I felt completely confident and cared for the entire time. The front office and support team were just as outstanding and made everything stress-free. Michaela at reception and billing was an absolute superstar--she handled all my insurance questions, paperwork, and billing details with patience and a big smile. She explained everything clearly, followed up promptly, and went out of her way to make sure I understood my options and costs upfront. She has such a warm, professional way about her that turned what could have been a headache into something easy and reassuring. I can't say enough good things about her! I really did like the staff. I was worried about going under but they made me feel at ease so I didn't worry so much once the day came to have all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. I had 2 on the bottom that were impacted and it was time. I will admit that I woke up before someone was probably suturing me and they just told me to relax and I caught myself panicking but was too groggy to do or say anything. Plus I thought they were still pulling teeth so got worried. They weren't but when you're in that state you do not know. I think the main complaint that I had was that I was not told that I would have my cheeks sliced on the inside. I don't really understand why this is done but I will tell you that I have bitten the inside of my cheek more than ever and let me tell you it hurts! I did ask about this after and it kind of came across as, "How else was I going to get to those bottom teeth?" Not really sure since I still don't understand how cutting my cheeks helped. I just worry that I will never not bite the inside of my cheek. Most of the assistants are nice but there was one who, during one of my return check ups, was snarky with me. Sorry that I have questions but I've never had this done and not sure that this is what's supposed to be happening. The only recommendations that I have for the docs are, please explain what will take place when during the surgery so that your patient does not wake up one day asking, what happened. Want to know how I learned that I had the cheeks sliced? I bit my cheek so when I went for the check up I said that I felt a bump in my mouth and asked if they could check it. The doc said, "Oh, that's where I sliced your cheek. You're probably biting on the suture." Imagine my surprise. I don't want to deduct more stars because really, I know that my case was a bit of a challenge and they did check on me often without charging me extra, plus most of the staff, including the doc, were nice and caring. So, would I go back. Only if my wisdom teeth grew back! I had severe pain that would come and go due to four of my wisdom teeth needing to be removed and I have a complex medical history that made me very anxious about surgery. I highly recommend Dr Edwin Leung at Vancouver Oral Surgery Group. I literally had no pain with my extraction due to nitrous oxide gas for the insertion of the IV followed by sleep sedation. My insurance covered most of the cost, too. I would not hesitate to return in the future, if needed. read more

My dentist refereed me to the Vancouver oral surgeon group to get my wisdom teeth looked at. I am not planning on getting them removed anytime soon but I agreed and made an appointment to make sure it's not urgent. The oral surgeon seems amazing! He was super down to earth and just looked at my teeth instead of doing any scans. It was super quick. However I was not told at all that the first appointment costs $232. I just got a bill and called and ask what it was for and they said it was in small writing on a page of a packet that I signed. My boyfriend also had an appointment with them and he was not told either. Just a heads up for anyone making an appointment, I would not have made the appointment if I was told it would cost so much :( read more

I highly recommend Dr. Edwin Leung if you are ever in need of an extraordinary oral surgeon. After two weeks of excruciating pain I got a referral from my dentist to see Dr. Lueng. I get extremely nervous going into dentist offices yet Dr. Leung and his confident assistant, Josh, were excellent listeners, empathetic, and very professional yet friendly. Dr. Leung kindly was able to fit me in for an extraction the next day. At the extraction appointment I met the rest of his fabulous team, Katalin and Rose, who assisted the doctor with an IV sedation extraction. I did not have one second of pain. They sent me home with clear instructions and called later in the day to check up on me. This is day two and I still have no pain and my mouth is already healing nicely. I just want to relate my experiences with Vancouver Oral Surgery to anyone apprehensive about IV sedation, extraction and implant dentistry. Dr. Leung and the staff at Vancouver Oral Surgery were able to restore several of my teeth and eliminate the pain I had been experiencing for quite some time. Dr. Leung and his staff are very reassuring for those of us apprehensive about dental work and he made sure he told me exactly what he was doing at all times. I was surprised that I had no pain when all the anesthetic wore off, so I never had to take so much as an ibuprofen. Their after-procedure information and follow-up call were reassuring as well. It's been several years since I had my first of several teeth extracted and replaced by an implants and I can report I've had no issues what so ever. Dr. Leung has made it possible for me to eat and drink comfortably and without pain and I can never thank him enough for that! read more

Please don't be a sucker like I was and trust the office staff to provide accurate costs around your surgery as it relates to your insurance policy. Do all your own research and homework on the procedure you are having done and make sure to personally verify all the information they tell you. Just cause they have an insurance department and deal with it everyday, unlike you and me, apparently doesn't make them any better at it. I am currently being harassed by their offices to pay an additional out-of-pocket expense of $500 (on top of the $750 I already paid) because they didnt verify that funds were available through my insurance at the time of the procedure. I trusted their staff to provide accurate information and instead feel like I got caught up in a hustle. I would have made different choices had I been provided with accurate information. Be careful going here they charge 125.00 consultation fee insurance don't cover this fee I tried to be nice about it they did not budge also charged for covid screening 35.00 as well really. I presented my insurance card at time of appointment, and they proceeded without telling me upfront the cost out of pocket fees would be i listed misunderstanding and assuming is poor practice. i should have known this from the start. The stars aligned for me when I found Vancouver Oral Surgery. The Doctors and staff at this Clinic are simply the best in Vancouver. I needed an extraction and they were able to accomodate me on short notice and still provide the best surgical experience I have ever had. Doc Martin Seidenschmid is a skilled surgeon and was able to do the job in record time. I have had experiences with 2 other Oral Surgeons in Vancouver, both at different clinics who did not measure up to Doc Martin's level of skill, care and expertise. The assistants who were in the room and assisting him were also great and did their job so flawlessly. The clinic staff is professional and did the greatest job getting me in and out and last but not least I must say that this clinic did not once even try to upsell me for implants or even mention implants, but when I am ready for implants I will return here and would not even consider going anywhere else. read more

Wow amazing experience, I got both of my upper wisdom teeth taken out today and it was painless and very fast. The staff is very professional, the Dr. who took my compacted wisdom teeth out was so nice and made sure I was comfortable the entire process. It only took 30 minutes. My husband went in to have a wisdom tooth examined that had been hurting. Dr. Leung looked at it, told him he had long roots, and that he could pull it with local anesthesia since they weren't prepared to sedate him and hadn't seen him. Dr. Leung was very nice, but I would've thought they would have an anesthesiologist on site to help in situations like this. My husband is a diabetic and so I was worried about infection. My husband chose to have the tooth pulled because he was in so much pain and it was cracked. It only took about 15 minutes. I would've given five stars if they had given my husband a decent ice pack and made a call to see how he was doing. The ice pack they gave was worthless, we were a half hour away and it's pretty important to apply ice right away. I was surprised no one called at any point in time to check on him. read more

I have had Dr Martin complete two complicated extractions which were next to impacted wisdom teeth. He is very gentle and both extractions were completed without any unforeseen complications. There was minimal pain after the extractions and the healing happened very fast. If I ever have to have another tooth extracted, I want Dr. Martin to do it. Then the receptionist came in and said that the doctor was running behind and that it would be another 45 minutes at least. So we cancelled and they asked to reschedule. read more
