I haven't been to a dentist in 15 years... and I come from really bad teeth genetics from both my parents! So needless to say, I have a lot of work to be done and am preparing for some partial dentures). I just had one root canal four crowns and a cavity done (all in one appointment... The QUALITY of work they did AND GOT DONE IN ONE AFTERNOON was outstanding! I was pretty comfortable within about five minutes into my first consultation appointment. As a first time patient, Dr. Recore did not attempt to "upsell" me, and created a great plan for me to love my smile (and within a budget I did not share with her)! During my appointment, I didn't feel a thing (yes I used the gas) and I am a very sensitive baby when it comes to my mouth!! I put in my headphones and listened to my music and went off into my own world and they did their thing! Dr. Bardeloza Did my root canal and this was the best root canal experience I've had (and I've had a lot of root canals from various dentists). I'm leaving this review the day after and I don't feel any discomfort!! I can't even tell I had any work done!!! Christie did my temp crowns for me on my front top teeth (I have been so conscious of those teeth ) and she did BEAUTIFUL work (she tells me the permanent crowns are gonna look even better!!!) my father was a longtime patient of the previous owner and 25 years ago, My son went in after breaking his top front tooth. They were able to build his front tooth back up and he still has it to this day (not once has it broken off!). Going in as a first time patient to new ownership gave me nerves, but they settled them immediately (it's such a nice and comfortable environment with the staff, everyone is really kind). I am 50 years old and for the first time in my life, I am excited to start seeing a dentist to fix everything needing to be fixed and actually doing preventive care! I know this is a really long review, but this place is worth it and I'm hoping it helps someone who is really-really nervous about going to the dentist (like I was). read more

Noah Stella, the business manager for New Horizons is very eloquent and comes across as very kind in his comments. But he refuses to acknowledge that his claim they always verify coverage is false because they were not aware my coverage was 70% not 50%. He also refuses to acknowledge that the morning of treatment when I said I would not do the procedure unless my insurance company pays for it, they asked if I wanted them to call the insurance company that morning, which of course I said yes. That call never happened but, but they did lead me to believe it had, and all was set. read more

I just moved here from Oregon and was looking for a new dentist for a cleaning. I go to the dentist religiously and take very good care of my teeth. I was told by Vancouver Smiles that I had stage 1-2 gum disease, needed deep cleaning and needed a crown for almost $2,000. Well, I'm so glad I got a second opinion from New Horizons Dental. They were wonderful and they don't herd you in and out like cattle. I DO NOT have gum disease and DO NOT need a deep scale cleaning. Was a patient for over 15 years and spent thousands of dollars on different procedures. I had a discolored front tooth that I implored Dr Jen to fix and her treatment recommendation was to grind the front teeth down and cap them for $7000. My tooth was healthy and too much for my budget so I declined. 7 years passed and the tooth got more grey and ugly. I happen to go to a specialist who said he could fix it for $300 by going in and cleaning the inside of the tooth. It worked great. My next visit to dr Jen I told her of the procedure and she said oh I knew about that but just told the hygienist to remove the grind and cap off my chart. Never even offered that inexpensive option to me in the past. Just Let me walk around with ugly tooth for 7 years. Dr Jen is all about the money and I would recommend looking elsewhere for someone who truly cares about you as a patient read more

It took 45 minutes to get my insurance figured out . inexperienced dental assistant. Totally didn't collect my Saliva as you do when you go to the dentist. So I had to shallow my own nasty tooth chucks as they grinded away my broken tooth. To make matters worse they charged me for their mistake (they chipped my tooth) while trying to fix my other teeth. Have been going to New Horizons for at least 15 years and my current Doctor is Jennifer Ehrlich who's done a great job. Had 2 crowns and a filling this morning and couldn't have been more pleased with the work. Very High tech and state of the art equipment and procedures. In years past if I would have anything close to the work I had done this morning I would have been in pain for about 2 days+. Absolutely no discomfort during or after the two crowns I recently had. If I could give zero stars I would. First off, the technician accidentally punched me in the face. She dropped one of her tools and went fast to the floor to grab it and her fist hit my cheek. Didn't even apologize. She said, "oh did I just hit you?" Umm yeah you did. By the end of the appointment the doctor finished my fillings and said, "by the way I did cut your tongue with the drill at the beginning but it should be done bleeding by now." Great Dental Assistants! They really make people feel welcome and safe. Wait times was about 8 mins to be called back, appointment time was appropriate for my services. Very disappointed with results. Dr. Steve insisted upon extensive dental work after a routine exam. I had no issues, but got pressured into having the work done after he declared "Armageddon." My bite hasn't been right since. Chewing is out of sync. Some of my teeth are moving. I have no idea how much it will cost to fix his "fix." I wish I had gotten a second opinion or gone somewhere else altogether. The one star is for the friendliness of support staff, with the exception of the office manager, who is not. read more

I'm a new patient at New Horizons Dental and I chose them based off of how many positive reviews I saw. It is definitely all true! I really like how the receptionists provides an overview of the services for the day and what your insurance will/won't cover. I have never experienced that before and was pleasantly surprised. All the staff at New Horizons is very nice and wants you to have an enjoyable experience (as much as you can at the dentist). I liked how the doctor and hygienist are very forthcoming in dental advice. In sum, highly recommend and am looking forward to my next appointment! read more

These people are awful. The staff was really nice until I started asking questions, "Dr. Steve" did NOT do a good job, and tried to use his mistakes to create more business. They were deceptive about describing how much procedures would cost, and it has taken a LOT of time and expense to repair the damage done by these people. The first reviewer is probably pretty lucky she changed offices when she moved all the way across the river. Among my favorite quotable quotes from working with them: "A cleaning is $178." "Does that include everything?" "Yes! It's all included!" "Why does my bill say $356?" "That's for the additional procedures that are part of the deep cleaning." "So... everything's not included after all? You just have two different procedures, one called a dental cleaning, the other called a deep cleaning, that both cost the same price, but have to be added together in order to get a deep cleaning?" "I don't know why they do that, it seems to confuse a lot of people who ask about it." "Your credit limit wasn't high enough to cover the cost of a cleaning and the fillings, so we called the card company to raise your limit. Apparently they need to actually hear from you in order to do that, could you come talk to them for a moment?" "Oh, Dr. Hopmann did a filling for me last year, and it took over 6 months to stop hurting. That's just a part of dentistry, sometimes it takes awhile for the nerves to heal." "How weird! It usually takes 6 months after a botched filling for the main part of the nerve to die? It stops hurting after that? Oh, but I'm sure he did a better job on your teeth for free than he did for us charging over $200 a filling." "How much does it cost for a root canal and a crown?" "$1750!" "Oh? Well that's not too bad. Both procedures for under $2k, I can live with that. Would you put that in writing?" "No, that's $1750 for the root canal and $1750 for the crown." "Then why didn't you say $3500?! How much will the whole thing cost all together, with all of the additional procedures that are normally used?" "You didn't ask for the total bill estimate. We don't know what will be needed for your root canal, so we can't provide an estimate." "How much does it USUALLY cost people? No, wait, what is the smallest our bill could be, assuming you do all of the necessary procedures involved in a root canal, and a crown, without leaving out any of the normal additional things that are done with every client who has one of those?" "I'll have to get back to you on that. I... umm... I don't have time to figure that out right now." The best part was dealing with their rude, but apparently dumb, finance manager who actually told me "Dentistry is NOT a science! Sometimes there is just no way to tell what is going to happen!" Dentistry IS a science. You should probably be aware of that if you work in the field. You could look it up on the computer. You were using it for Facebook, so I'm pretty sure it gets Google, too. read more

Don't get Dr. Jen on a bad day! She was very unfriendly my second visit and clearly having a bad day, which I get happens, but when patients have anxiety about being at the dentist the last thing they want it to be treated so poorly. She ended up putting a filling in the wrong tooth and didnt even apologize for it. As I was walking out, I saw her walking down the hall and throw her face mask into a room. Again, clearly a bad day! Wont recommend or be back due to her behavior and unfriendliness. read more

Since moving over my dental needs have included chipped tooth, new crown, cracked tooth with extraction & bridge installation. Especially appreciated the prompt response for each problem including the opportunity to come in quickly for evaluation & as well as immediate pain treatment, when required. I've been seeing Dr. Steve for several years and have only had good experiences. From fillings/crowns to wisdom teeth extractions, Invisalign, at home whitening kit, and routine cleanings. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. They also do their best to put high anxiety patients (like myself) at ease when doing any sort of invasive dental care. I also might add that Laura is the best hygeniest ever. I've tried a couple of the other gals there and although they were nice, I refuse to see anyone other than Laura. Front to back this dentist office is the best I have ever been to. It had been way too long since I walked death row to get my pearly whites cleaned and routine maintenance done under the hood. I fought my wife tooth and nail (pardon the pun), but I lost the battle and, under extreme protest, my wife made an appointment for me and I showed up after a sleepless night in fear of judgement day. From the second I walked through the doors, I was blown away with the caring, personable vibe they had. Rikky was running the check in desk, and was extremely personable. She made me feel a little more at ease with what was about to unfold in back. She could see I was visibly wanting to be anywhere but there at that moment. She checked in with me several times and made conversation to distract me from what was about to happen. Before I know it I'm getting called back to the chair. Hillary was my hygienist and took such great care of me. She knew how uncomfortable I was and walked me through everything she was going to do. Before she would do something different she would check in with me to make sure I wasn't in pain or having an anxiety attack. Hillary kept conversation with me the entire time, and made me feel more like a friend than a patient. I have never experienced that at any business, let alone a dentist. I have been there 3 times now and every visit I've had has been amazing. I felt like everyone at New Horizons truly wants to know their patients and genuinely care about making going to the dentist something you look forward to. read more

I quit doing my periodontal treatments a few years ago due to I did not care for the 'other' office and it was always painful. When a back molar lifted right out one night a month ago, I decided it might be a good idea to resume my treatments finally. I am so glad I chose DR. GERALD J. PAPADOR. I saw him initially but ended up today with MONIKA ALCORN, DENTAL HYGIENIST doing the actual scaling and root planing. I have done these treatments at least 2 times yearly for 25 years and have never experienced such a painless procedure. I "know" I will not have to look further. I have found the best office in town with the best drug (Halcion) that works! Nice change from Valium and Nitrous Oxide that NEVER worked for me! read more

0 Stars I was told if I was unhappy with the fact that they lied to my insurance company they injured me and didn't finish after injuring me by dropping a drill on my head which she said over and over how sorry she was and then blamed her microscopic glasses thing then all of the sudden she never dropped it she comes back after leaving the area after she dropped the tool she returned 5or6 minutes later without those glasses and continued working all of the teeth that they worked on are rough like sandpaper when I contacted them to tell them about how my head wouldn't stop hurting from the sight where she dropped the drill on me and I was told three or four times it weighed only 6ounces "no way we hurt you" I don't know but it turns out that the dentist that worked on me really isn't dentist and isn't even on their license knowing a bit about blood-borne pathogen and what sterile means I was very concerned doctor technician once she knocked a tray of instruments on the ground and she picked up at tools put them back on the tray and continue to use those tools on me but after dr.lee or not dr. Lee drop the drill on my head when she came back she said she went too deep on that tooth and now it needed a crown and because I was not scheduled for 1 she put a temporary filling and left it at that a few days later my head was still hurting I contacted their office and was told to go to the emergency room or to stop calling because I called a couple of times I'm sure of what had actually happened because my insurance company had a different account of what occurred and how many teeth have been worked on when I pointed this out to New horizon dental they sent me a check for $88 and $0.18 and it says refund I contacted them and spoke to the only manager about what had happened and about this refund and at that time I told her I was unwilling to accept that as a refund considering that every tooth they worked on was like sandpaper and I was told that to have a tooth removed I would have to see a specific dentist but dr.lee removed it. so not only did I have someone that wasn't a dentist working on my front canine to canine top and bottom I did call and ask for them to send me a copy of the work done on what teeth that they did work on what they did and then the imaging I never received any imaging the CD that they sent me was blank and when I called and asked if I could just come in and get it I was told that they it aren't dealing with me anymore and that I should get a attorney after I said I'm going to get a second opinion the office manager told me 2 not contact them anymore and to get an attorney and a second set of X-rays to prove that they worked on what they worked on the reality is a person who is not listed as a medical professional employed by a New horizon dental but she did my dental work without being a dentist and without enough knowledge to work on my teeth let alone an extraction I absolutely will fight to be receiving all of my money back so I can fix those teeth and hopefully get my money back to be able to do so. read more
