From time my wife and I arrived for our eye exams we found everyone was pleasant and most friendly. Our wait was we were examined. Our appt was with De Trang. She was thorough the and informative and was able to determine my existing eye issue without having to ask as she tested my eyes. She had one test to determine the health of my eyes retested since the images were not as clear as she wanted.she took the time to answer all of my questions and wrote a new script. After leaving my previous review I was contacted by Julie the manager from the Vancouver location to initiate a refund which I appreciate. Julie was easy to communicate with. She worked through my issues with me quickly, and informed me Lindsay from the Camas location would be calling me to complete the refund. The next day I received a curt 52 second call from Lindsay. The entire conversation went as such: Me: Hello L: I'm calling you about a refund. I need your debit card numbers and expiry. Me: Okay [lists off the numbers]. Thank You. L: You're welcome--and slammed the phone down on me before finishing her words. She did not confirm my name, confirm my card details, tell me when I should approximately see it return to my account, say sorry it didn't work out or anything. I only hope she took my card details correctly at this point. I didn't even know who Lindsay was as the optics staff never told me their names, but now I realize it was likely Optics Staff 1. I wish I had been put on a call with someone else to deal with this refund. I'm baffled why the staff has been unprofessional throughout my experience. The stress they have caused is inappropriate especially for a doctors office. Thankfully the refund arrived after a few days, but I do not recommend this location. read more

First of all. I will start by saying that my son has had several appointments at this location and we've had no issue. I scheduled myself an appointment here even though it's a good 20/25 minutes from my house because they have been great with my kiddo. My appointment was at 2:30, so I arranged for a babysitter for my newborn twins to be at my house so that I could leave by 2:00. The babysitter was on time, but both my newborns were screaming so I couldn't get out of the house until 2:10...and I knew I would be 5ish minutes late. I tried calling the clinic several times between 2:10-2:25 and no one answered. I ended up leaving a message that I was going to be 5 minutes late, as well as sending a text letting them know that I was sorry, but was on my way. I received a text back at 2:30 letting me know that I would have to reschedule. I hoped that when I arrived, I could explain a little of the situation and they could work it out. I arrived at 2:37 and explained to the receptionist why I was late and that I was terribly sorry and hoping that they could make it work (I was nearly in tears). She went back to speak with the tech and came back just to let me know that they could not make it work and that I would have to come back. I said "no thank you" and walked out the door. I totally understand that their time is valuable and that I was wrong in being late. I do know that I've had to wait past our scheduled time with my son before, so it seems to me that their time must be more valuable than mine. It's just really, really frustrating that they had no compassion for me whatsoever and now I'm out the money it cost to have a babysitter, as well as the gas to get across town. I won't be going back here and I'll be taking my son elsewhere too. A little compassion and understanding goes a long way. read more

This was my first visit, and everyone was so kind, prompt, and highly competent. The doctor was knowledgeable about how my chronic illness brain inflammation was impacting my vision, and made both a short and long term plan with me. I was very impressed and grateful. I've been a customer over 6 years. Not any longer, aside from a high staff turnover rate they have consistently failed to notify me when glasses were ready. Sometimes I've waited months to find out they were ready for several weeks. I've also had to warranty 3 different times the lenses or coatings. The safety frames they offer are extremely dated compared to current styles available elsewhere. Disappointed. I went in December for a vision exam for contacts. I took home some trials with the optometrist had me try 3 different combinations of the 2 lenses. They weren't for me. Beginning of January I went back for a second appointment, they had me see another optometrist. She gave me lenses to try, which she said one wasn't the right strength but she'll send me home with it anyway for me to test the lens fit, meanwhile she will go to the downtown Vancouver location to pick up the right lens prescription, and I can pick it up the day after(Friday). I called Monday to see if the lens could be picked up, the gal said they had to order them and they'll call me when it's in. It's now March and I haven't heard a single thing from them. My wife and I just had a very comprehensive eye exam. Unfortunately I have a horrible memory for names, but the female optometrists told us what she was doing and what she was seeing and then gave us detailed information on what we should do. I really liked this place. My first time here I explained to my new doctor that at my last eye appt (the previous year with my previous doctor) they couldn't figure out what was causing blurriness and told me to just hold off a year before changing my prescription. While the advice ended up being good (my Rx is the same a year later) it didn't comfort me that my optometrist didn't have any good ideas. I had told him I was about 2 weeks post partum and wasn't sleeping and he talked about the joys of parenting. Fast forward to my visit at Vancouver Vision Clinic and when I told him that story he seemed well aware of the impacts post partum has on vision. It comforted me that he listened and validated what I suspected to be the case. Definitely going back. read more

Very considerate staff. Helpful in selection of frames. As a diabetic, I have to have a dilation every year, they are considerate with that.

I want to preface this by saying I did not know my insurance would not cover my glasses, it only covered my eye exam (I had been misinformed by my insurance company, but that's a separate issue). Moving on, after my eye exam and receiving my updated prescription, I went to pick out my glasses like so many of us do. I found a pair I liked and we talked prices and I told her I would pay the $318, but I didn't get paid till Friday and asked if she could hold them for me. (Again I didn't realize I was going to be paying outta pocket, that is why I asked this). The optician stated she could hold them and that she would write it all down and I could call back and pay over the phone. So of course I call back when I get paid and make the purchase and they tell me it'll be 2-3 weeks before they come in and I say great and we go on with our lives. I get a text message that my glasses are in and I'm excited and so I leave work a little early so I can pick them up, keep in mind this is Friday. I put them on and when I first put them up, I could tell that these were not the right frames, but I seriously doubted myself because this has never happened to me before and I've wore glasses since I was in the second grade. Instead of listening to myself, I think maybe I'm wrong and I go home. The next morning I wake up and I think about it some more and I'm like no these are definitely the wrong pair so I sent them a message (considering it was Saturday) and I explained to them the frames that I did pick out. The ones I had picked out were mostly clear but had some black and they were plastic. The frames I was given are black and metal. I have never chosen a metal frame for glasses in my life so why I ever doubted myself, I don't know. They get back to me once they opened up Monday and stated that the frames I chose were the ones they gave me, but that I could come in for a frame restyle. I didn't like that they wouldn't acknowledge they made a mistake, but I didn't harp on that. I asked if I needed to set up another appointment and they said I could walk in. So I leave work early again to deal with my glasses and I don't find the frames I wanted in the store anywhere and she shows me just a random pair of clear frames that were clearly not it and states she thinks those are the ones I wanted. I tried to explain to her how the frames I chose looked and I asked her if she understood what I meant and she said that she didn't. She joins me in looking over the frames one last time before I go and she picks out a pair that are very similar to the ones I wanted and she was like, "Oh, you mean like this?" And I wish I could explain to you all about how I felt like I was really being gaslit into not knowing what I was talking about by this woman. At first you act like I'm just wrong and didn't know what frames I wanted, then you say you don't know what I'm talking about, but immediately were able to figure out what I was talking about. Like these glasses she picked up were not the ones I wanted but were VERY similar. Honestly if they had been the shape I wanted, I would've gotten them. Anyway, I couldn't find a frame I really wanted and she told me another option I had was to check the Vancouver location to see if they had them. It was too late in the day for me to go there that same day so I have to miss work some more to deal with this issue and go another day. I go to the Vancouver location, they try to help me find the frames I want. The optician I was having issues with I guess put a note for the clear frames I told her I didn't want so they are thinking those are the ones I want and I have to re-explain myself again. In short summary, they were nice, but no luck. At this point I don't really know what to do. I call the Camas location and tell them the Vancouver location didn't have them either. They must have been a discontinued frame or maybe they were available but just didn't have anymore on site. They told me they could issue a refund, but they wanted me to come in that day by a certain time that I just couldn't do because of work. I have missed so much work over these glasses at this point it is ridiculous and so I have decided to just keep these glasses that I don't want because at this point even if they give me a refund, I have to miss even more work to go somewhere else to order a pair of glasses from them and I just honestly have given up. read more

I have been going to Vancouver Vision for close to 30 years. I have seen many of the doctors either for myself or my children and I have always been pleased and impressed with the care we received. They are all very thorough and friendly. Care of their patients is clearly #1. I usually see Dr. Patel and he is so personable and knowledgeable. I had my eye exam done here, and purchased my glasses here. The care I receive here is superb. I especially like that I have an option during my eye exam not to have my eyes dilated (instead, I can pay a little out-of-pocket to have a photo taken). The photo of my eye is always interesting and I like the time the doctor takes to review the image with me. As for eyeglasses, the selection of frames is the best quality, the prices are reasonable (although my insurance really helps moderate that cost), and the optometrists are top rate, offering suggestions and explaining my options. After 17 years of wearing glasses, I've never had an experience this bad with an optometrist. Went in months ago, picked out glasses and sunglasses, ordered same day. I was informed that any scuffs, nicks, or other issues would be covered by a two-year warranty. Later that day, I get a call: "I just noticed your prescription is for bifocals, do you want those?" I declined, pointing out that if I'd wanted those, we would have discussed it while I was in the office. I was then told it would take about two weeks to get them; ended up being a little over three. Once they arrived, something was wrong. My prescription hasn't changed in years, but my eyes couldn't adjust to the lenses and I start getting headaches. First return visit, I'm met with blank stares from the woman helping me. She says she has to ask someone else; she then follows up with me later in the day, but reads me chart information from another Jennifer who was waiting for a call from them. She laughed off the mistake, but I found it to be less-than-funny considering she'd given me another patient's information due to a lack of paying attention. Come back again the next day, and the next woman to help me figures out in less than a minute that the pupil distance is wrong. Turns out they never measured it in the first place. The glasses go back, I wait another two weeks. The glasses arrive (again), and something is still off but it's better than the first time. When I put on my contacts and sunglasses, my sight isn't the same as it is through the eyeglasses, but I'm so tired of sacrificing lunch breaks at this point that I keep the glasses and decide to find another optometrist. Fast forward a month, and I seem to have a chip in the top of my lens plus a dent on the frame, seemingly from a fall. When I go back in to get it fixed, they buff the chip and inform me "damage of this sort doesn't qualify for the warranty." They point out several times that I likely dropped them, and I wouldn't disagree; glasses get dropped often and are (usually) designed to withstand some wear and tear. But the icing on the cake is they point out my lenses are too thick for the frame, meaning they sold me frames that weren't built to contain my RX. I've been to other optometrists who were careful to point out the compatibility of the lens with the frame, so this was a combination of laziness and sloppiness as far as I'm concerned. I regret giving this place my money, the whole thing was a disaster from beginning to end. read more
