First of all, Dr. Nguyen is incredibly knowledge and provides very clear, concise, and understandable explanations for diagnoses. He also spent an extra 5 minutes at the end of my appointment explaining how my insurance covers contacts vs. glasses and what the pricing difference would be. I initially planned on getting contacts, but he walked me through the EXACT cost for the lenses I would need without insurance coverage (almost $1000) AND told me how I can find cheaper contact prices to pay for out of pocket. Also, Kevin in the front office is an absolute delight! He helped me find good frames and provided very helpful and honest feedback in a professional manner while looking for a frame that would fit my face well. They provide reminder texts before appointments, are open on Saturdays, and are so incredibly kind and professional! Will never go to a different optometry office again! read more

My original review is below, and it stands, but I reduced it by one star because I am tired of both of my pair of glasses that I got from here keep falling off my face every time I look down. A proper fitting glasses is an important as proper lenses... The place is welcoming and friendly. The inside is  well decorated. The business is run by the two owners which means that they care. The doctor took his time and went the extra mile to confirm his diagnosis. They have a good selection of eye wear including high end selection. They even mocked up the bifocal glasses with take to make sure that I am comfortable. They have all the fancy equipment including a machine that measures the fit by wearing a fancy thing and taking a digital picture of the face. They also don't use high pressure tactics to sell you frames. There's a private parking lot, so don't worry about door dings. Come here... read more

My youngest daughter recommended me to Dr. Nguyen & I couldn't be happier! If there is another clinic out there that compares to Kevin and the Dr. I don't know where it is!! From the moment I walked in the door, I felt such a welcoming and feeling of ease. Both gentlemen are forthright, honest, pleasant to the nth degree, yet also true professionals. I am blind in one eye due to past surgery for retinal detachment, and Dr. Nguyen's main concern was preserving the best possible vision for my good eye.There were some concerns regarding that eye and Dr. has had me in on several different occasions to check that eye pressure, with no extra charge beyond the initial consult. Also, his detail in explaining everything & answering my questions fully were perfect, very kind and forthright. I ordered new glasses (which were needed), I was under no pressure at all and got solid advice from both as I tried on different frames. Dr. Nguyen and his staff are incredibly kind and efficient. You can tell he has a real curiosity about what he practices, which to me, is certainly the mark of a competent professional. Right before I moved out of the state I received a new prescription and ordered some contacts. The new lenses turned out to be defective, and although I was technically no longer his patient, Dr. Nguyen worked quickly with the manufacturer and myself to make sure that this issue was taken care of. read more

The whole family invades this place and the staff don't cringe. Imagine that! Dr. Nguyen has been taking care of my husband's vision needs for over 9 years. When it was time to bring in the kiddos (ages 7 and 6) I was impressed, at how well Dr. Nguyen was able interact with them. Using different techniques, Dr. Nguyen was able to complete quite an extensive exam on both without any drama. The selection of frames is fair to good (a few big name brands) and prices are somewhat reasonable. I noticed some frames were priced a little higher than what I could find elsewhere. Frame fittings are in depth and making sure they fit great is a priority of Bonnie's. It can be tough finding a good place for vision that does right by the family. Impeccable service and quality eye products. I've been going to Tuan and Kevin for about 2 years now as my preferred optometrist. Right off the bat, I must say their customer service is like none other because they don't only make you feel like they care, but they really do. I drive 15 miles just to see them. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and treated as not as a visitor, but a guest. A guest they truly want to take care off. I appreciate the fact that I don't feel rushed when I'm there. They told me that they purposely set aside an hour for every client in order to provide quality service. I didn't feel like a transaction, but I was able to connect with Tuan and Kevin on a personal level. The way business should be done! I also appreciate the fact that they go from brand to brand, and actually take the time to educate me on the various eye products they offer before I make my choice. This time I went with a pair of Adidas glasses made in Austria. They also told me that they only showcase top notch, reputable products. This makes me feel confident with any purchase I make. Completely legally blind, I am. That is without correction. I am very sensitive about who and what goes near my eyes. Dr. Nguyen is smart, young, and definately enjoys what he does. The building slightly sticks out on 182nd, and the interior is very nice. My visits were informative and quick.. We had to tweak my perscription to get it just right, but this was never a hassle and the shop hours are good for workers. I have contacts and was interested in a new pair of glasses, there was no pressure to buy, and the selection of styles fit all budgets. I even got an initial discount on my first visit because I brought my old prescription. If you live out Gresham way, this is a great spot for eye needs. read more

What a great experience I had today with Kevin and Dr. Nguyen! First off I was greeted by gracious Kevin. He is so kind and friendly and so helpful and knowledgeable in all their eyewear. Then I had an in depth eye exam with Dr. Nguyen. Even though I know a lot about my diabetes, he taught me things about how it effects my eyes that I was unaware of, it was very educational. The reviews for the establishment are stellar so I thought it would be cake. I went in for eyeglasses and contacts. Dr Nguyen suggested soft contacts. I requested Gas permeable. He drove it hard and ended up fitting me for soft contacts. Fast forward a week later I pick up my glasses and they're bifocal not single vision and it seemed off but I was going to leave with my glasses. The contacts I tried for a week did not work out. The prescription for the lens were not accurate and things were blurry and uncomfortable. I asked him again about the gas permeables and he said maybe they were better for me. ??? Why didn't he just fit me for those when I requested them the first time? I gave up on the contacts for the moment and told them I would order contacts from them when I needed them. They charged me for the fitting for the contacts and when I called them months later requesting gas permeables, they don't call me back. I understand things are hard with covid, but a call back at least would have been nice. Three times I've called and they still haven't gotten back to me. I am a little bit annoyed. I was going to recommend them to my husband but I really don't think so now. I don't know how I'll get insurance to pay for another contact fitting at another optometrist. Oh well. My husband says to go someplace else and spend the money out of pocket because it sounds better than dealing with these clowns. Update: Personal message below was sent in response to this review. To me it was passive aggressive... they want to make things right but they also said they checked their phone records and show that i only called once. I in fact talked to Kevin the first time and asked him to send me a hard copy of my prescription and he never did that either. I am not interested in continuing care from them. read more

I went to Gresham Vision Source for the first time last week and I was beyond impressed!!! With every single step of the process, I felt like a VIP customer. After I had checked in, I was browsing through the frames. Kevin immediately came over to describe their selection to me. The lady at the front desk (sorry, forgot her name) was also extremely helpful, taking time to show me each pair until we found the perfect frames. There was no pressure...no annoying upsales. At no point in the process did I feel rushed. And the icing on the cake....Dr. Nguyen!!! Dr. Nguyen is amazing...I wish he could be my primary care physician. He is incredibly thorough, patient, listened to all of my concerns, explained every step of the process and helped me make an educated decision about what the best course of action would be.
