Tom was the rep we dealt with. Seemed nice at first, but don't be deceived. Went in once, found a car we liked, but he wouldn't negotiate we were working in a budget. So we left, no harm, no foul. We decided to come back another day after not finding what we wanted, and I called Tom ahead of time to see if the car we looked at was still in stock. He remember us and all of the details of our visit. That made us feel better, we told him we were on our way and he said he would have it ready. He tried to pass off a similar car to the one we looked out, gave us a song and dance about having to change out the brakes and tires (which were clearly new) in the two days since we had been there and then tried to charge us a $1000 more. I knew when I saw it immediately that is was a different, but if it would have been around the same miles and the same price, I wouldn't have been bothered. But it wasn't, and Tom had to bring his manager over. I should have known when I came back and he wouldn't look me in the eye that he was lying. Women use your clues!! My 16 year old son was looking for an older truck on the internet and found one on the Vandergriff Chevrolet website. There were so many pictures and even the Car Fax was right there on the website! We called and made an appointment to see it. I was greeted by Tony Mullens who was our sales consultant. We bought the truck the next day, because it was exactly as the ad had explained it - even though I was expecting the "gotcha" moment, the truck was even better than advertised. This dealership houses liars and lazy salesmen. They sent us a letter saying we are a preferred customer and we could upgrade to a new 2018 version of our truck. BS!!!!! We went to talk to them and showed them the letter. Only up our payments by $65 per month and no money down. We pick out a truck we like and start talking $$. First offer they came back with was over $1200!!!!!! Are you kidding me? After going round and round with this idiots, they finally said they could get our payment down to this certain amount which was still way above the additional $65 as promised. Then they said we had to put money down. We didn't ask how much, we just walked out. The salesman assisting us had no interest in selling us a new truck. He seemed bored to be there and whenever we would counter with something, he would just say "OK" but he never mentioned anything to his Sales Manager or Finance. We would ask him about it again and he would say "Oh, yeah, I'm going to mention it". Liar! They wasted 5 hours of our time just so they could jack with us. The letter they sent us was just a marketing scheme to get us in the door and the fact that they said we are a "Preferred Customer" is a joke. We know the game dealerships like to play. But if you would have sat there with us the entire time, you would have left when we did, if not before then. Some dealerships just are not worth the effort. Do not waste your time with this dealership. I called to discuss buying a vehicle and then closed on the price and conditions. As they were preparing the purchase order and I was about to leave to head to the dealership, they went back on their word and told me I could only buy the vehicle at a higher price than what was given before. The sales manager Kelly Cook reviewed the recorded conversations, agreed that they made a mistake on their side, but decided not to sell me the car at the price I was told. Earning my business and the small amount of money that made up the difference was not worth it to him or the dealership. The business they are running is not fair and is shady. Purchased a new car the end of October 2015. Took my car in on March 4, 2016 for an oil change, a tire rotation and an A/C issue. My car was there for over 2 weeks before the A/C was even looked at. I picked my car up on March 28, 2016 and it looked like it had been in a mud off roading trip. When I took my car to the car wash I discovered hail damage and it was never disclosed to me that my car had received hail damage while in their possession. I now believe my car was not clean for that reason. That they did not want me to know of the hail damage. When I purchased my car they told how excellent their service department was. Unfortunately my first experience was not a good won. Cody should have had my car clean and he should have informed me of the hail damage. If anyone would ever ask me to refer them to a dealership I do not feel I could ever refer them to this dealership. read more

Would not recommend this location at all. I bought a car a few months back with $3000.00 extended warranty. The car had problems within a week of purchase. Took the vehicle back to them, they had it for almost a week and the only thing they did was give me my new key phob. I then took the vehicle to my mechanic, which I was informed that the struts were bad and needed to be replaced. Called the extended warranty company who told me that I needed to take it back to the dealership because it was pre-existing problem. The dealership wanted to charge me a fee just to look at the vehicle. I spoke with the DIRECTOR Joe Bailey in person, who told me he would look into it and give me a call in a few days. I never heard from him at all. I left several voice mails with him and did not receive a call back. They knew they were selling a car that needed repairs and was unsafe! Would suggest looking for another dealership, if you purchased from them you too could be driving in an unsafe vehicle. read more

My entire experience was VERY lack-luster . I bought a car and upon test driving the vehicle, I noticed the ac wasn't working. The salesman josh, informed us that the ac would be fixed upon purchase. When we get ready to purchase the car, I was leaving work telling him that I'm interested, get the car together so we can do this. I arrived, the car wasn't ready AT ALL. I underwent the entire process and still took me 3-4 hours just to pay them and be done even though we've previously negotiated the price down and everything. I get the car, it was in the same condition I literally saw it in, test driving it a few days back. Dirty leather, ceiling, floor, outside, and the ac wasn't operational. This was a HUGE negative for me because me and the salesman have communicated A LOT throughout the process due to this being my first car. He should've had the car spotless and presentable when giving someone their newly bought car. I get the car, he tells me the ac still isn't working. I'm just stunned because, I don't know how long it takes to fix an ac but it definitely doesn't take weeks (they didn't do anything).. He told me that I had a choice of driving off the lot as is, or leave the car there and drive my car back home. My car, had 191.6k miles on it with 6 HUD lights on. Long story short, it was a death trap and on its way to the junkyard. I didn't want to drive that car 40 miles back to my apt and come back the following day knowing my old car was OFFICIALLY theirs, and if the car would've broken down (which I've assumed it would), the entire process would've had to be reworked. They had NO loaner cars available . I was fucked from the jump and told him I couldn't be without a car and was FORCED to decline. They played me and told me the condenser needed to be replaced on the vehicle on the initial diagnostic. Skipping ahead, when the dealership finally was able to have loaners 3 weeks later, I drove up there to get the car looked at for the ac and get it fixed by the SAME dealership I bought it from. These are the SAME people who knew what was wrong with the car in the first place and didn't properly disclose all the issues along with it. Reason for this is, when the car was being looked at, I was told by the mechanic down the street at Don Davis, that the vehicle's COMPRESSOR wasn't working. The cost of a compressor vs condenser is like night and day. Two different price ranges I wanted to be in and I really feel this is fraud due to the dealership SAYING it was a condenser which is a easy $200-300 fix as opposed to a $1000 fix now I'm stuck with for receiving wrong information. Basically paid $175 for a " diagnostic " (half the cost to fix the condenser) to have someone tell me, it wasn't the condenser, it was the compressor. I was just completely appalled all together with this experience and wont be doing business with them again. I just wanted to write this to let other people be aware of the situation. An oil change, with an appointment will take up to 2 hours, want your tires rotated, add another hour. 24,000 included maintenance is great, if you have the ability to drop off your car or have nothing to do for a few hours. Where do I start with my dissatisfaction with Vandergriff Chevrolet? Last week we went into the dealership and finally had to find someone to come help us. Then when we found one we liked, we were waiting forever for our salesman to even talk to a manager to see what the offer we could get on the Chevrolet Trax. He politely told us that there were 5 or so other people in front of us and only one manager working so it would still be a long wait. We had already been there over 2 hours so we decided to go and he informed us he would call us with an offer either later that night or the next day. We never received a call back that next day or the rest of the week. We figured they didn't really want our business. Then the following Monday we were contacted by Assistant Sales Manager Ashley if we were still interested in the vehicle. We explained what had already happened and she urged us to come back in and give them a chance. We came back in Monday night and found one we liked. We got the offer sheet and told them we would get with our bank to set it all up. We went home thinking all was well. We looked online and noticed the MSRP for the vehicle we were getting was listed for about $1000 less online. I called them Tuesday and they said to come back up for a new offer sheet. This was Tuesday evening. I told them the bank would be contacting them to set it all up. I called on Wednesday because the bank can not get anyone to call them back and fax over the information so the PO could be completed. When someone finally did call back our bank they said they would send the information after lunch. My wife had already contacted the insurance company so everything would be ready to pick up the car that afternoon. Around 2 Ashley called us back to tell us that someone had sold the vehicle Tuesday night and there must have been a communication error. Is this how business is conducted? I left a review on their Facebook and they replied back to it telling me who to call. My wife tried to call him and left a message today but never got a call back. So frustrated with it all. Do NOT buy a preowned Certified car here. I bought a 2015 Malibu in October and the timing jumped on December 30th. They said they saw "signs of water damage" and I needed to get my insurance company involved. The insurance company come in and ran all these test. The air filter was brand new so no water entered it. There was no water in the oil, and they paid for a third party forensic expert to come out who also said there was no water damage. Vandergriff refuses to pay under warranty even when they know there was no water damage. and said that I had to bring in the service loaner the same day or be charged after my car has been in the shop for 3 months. The service guy, Brandon Allen has been very unprofessional calling the insurance people dumb, and saying the forensic experts were as stupid as his car runners. They still have not fixed my car so I am getting a lawyer to sue. I repeat, DO NOT BUY OR FIX YOUR CAR HERE. Very unprofessional and typical car salesman attitudes. read more

I have inquired about a car online. The initial email was very quick as well as having my questions answered about the particular car. I exchanged a few emails with chris beck. He had agreed to discuss price over email but stopped responding after the first number was thrown out. I figured he got busy so i sent a simple "hello?", He then responded with the price of the vehicle online as if i hadnt already seen that price as i inquired via their website. The reason I'm leaving a poor review is NOT because of price. It is because i was told there would be open communication via email and instead i got an unresponsive sales person that can't be bothered to follow up with an interested buyer. I then followed up with a phone call directly to the dealership and was told someone would get back to me. I got a 2013 Chevy Cruze less than a year ago and have had problems with constantly. I was told when I got it that it was GM certified. I must say I am a little disappointed. It has been in the shop every few months since I got it. I went here because I wanted a dependable car and I didn't want to worry. All 3 times I have taken my car they have kept it for one time a week and next time 10 days. Currently there now since Monday and today is Thursday. 1st time no loaner car given, loaner given the 2nd and 3rd time but it's a hassle. Worried that when extended warranty runs out I will be left with a high car note and a lot of service cost! Update it's Friday just came in to pick up my car, was told they fixed the catalytic converter , did the oil change and tire rotation. Got in the car the same tire that had low air in it when I brought it in was still on the same side of the car and lower than the other tires which Is why I know it's the same tire. Rotate means that you changed them around right. I don't think so. So if you lied about something as simple as that what else are you lying about. I wonder if there is any oil in the car as well. There was no sticker in the window. Might be a little thing to some people but honesty is BIG with me. read more

My husband and I came in and bought a 2002 Chevy Silverado, which so far we are extremely pleased with the vehicle. However, your customer service was not up to par. I was extremely frustrated with how it was handled as well. We drove 3 hours to purchase the truck. When we got there around 2 pm, Brian helped us right away. We got to look at and test drive the truck. As I said, we loved it and said we wanted it. We got right on to the paperwork, which was great. Finance was great, easy to understand and quick. Then, they told us it needed to be inspected and cleaned. We asked if we had time to go and grab a quick bite to eat. Brian told us we had time and that the truck would be ready in about 30-40 minutes. When we returned, Josh came and told us that the truck wasn't going to be ready until tomorrow. We told him we couldnt come back because we both worked the next day. So he went to see what he could do for us. He said it could be done in an hour and a half. So we left and found something to do in the mean time. We came back an hour and 15 minutes later and Brian told us that we had to wait another hour and a half. By this point, I was furious and wanted to talk to a manager. So I went and asked the receptionist who I should talk to. She pointed him out and we talked. He got up and was looking for Brian when the truck pulled up. FINALLY. Five HOURS after Brian first said it would be finished. We left at 8 pm and did not get home until 11:30. After all was said and done, it would have been nice to get at least an apology for the inconvience, but we didn't even get that. I am severely upset with the customer service we received and will never be back to purchase from this dealership again. read more

Horrible service department - they do not care about you, your vehicle, your time or doing the right thing. They do not take care of their business nor do they call you and let you know what is wrong with the vehicle or when it might be ready to be picked up. I waited for 6 days with not one word from my "Service Advisor" Cody - not one call - they cannot be bothered. Bottom line, GO ELSEWHERE FAST!! There are too many dealerships that value customer retention, customer service and have employees that actually care and want to be helpful. We contacted the General Manager as well as the Service Manager to see if we could not get some issues resolved and they never bothered to respond back. Laziness and just absolute lack of ethics seem to be the number 1 priority there. I would not recommend them to anyone - don't waste your time, energy or money there because you are just another number to them at best. read more

My reason for my rating is I took my saturn Vue in for a leaking oil ckeck which was found along with an coolent leak. Also asked them to fix a Co2 sensor, while there i asked for a trany fluid change. The PROBLEM it took them 15 days to find a small oil leak that was coming from a timing belt cover. The power steering that was check b/c of recall but was barely refilled with the minimum amount of fluid, lucky I cough it before it caused damage. The small oil leak never got fixed, b/c they quated me over $2,200. Cheaper to by a new motor. The service supervisor was never there and did not know where my car was at half the time. ? If you ask them to call you back good luck! Upon pick up of the vehicle they forgot it and trapped it and took them 30 minutes to get it out. They did do service to my vehicle but that's what they get paid to do. Working with the customers not so much. They had it for a total of 16 days. read more

They were great in person and over the phone before we came to see them. We live pretty far away and were looking at a used truck through them. The price was good, it was in good shape and the test drive (around the block) went fine. They were all smiles and handshakes. I'm not a mechanic but when I looked at the engine it looked fine. The belt on top had been replaced and it sounded fine. Then ON THE WAY HOME from buying the truck the engine started making a whining/chirping noise. I figured it was the new belt so I took it to my mechanic. Before all was said and done I had spent 600 dollars out of pocket two days after getting the truck home. According to my mechanic the belt tensioners had to be replaced along with the alternator and the air conditioning belt which they had used armor all on to make it look new. The top belt was new but according to the mechanic the belt they replaced was so far gone that they had obviously replaced the top belt to make it seem like they wouldn't be a concern to someone like me who knew a little but about engines but not enough to really make a good judgement. Furthermore, he said that part of the reason the alternator went bad was because they had sprayed so much armor all on the engine to make it look new and shiny that it had seeped inside it and ruined it. I contacted them even though I had an As-Is agreement I had signed hoping that because it messed up ON THE WAY HOME and it was their fault that maybe they would make it right but the sales manager told me that I was out of luck. He said the reason that I signed that agreement was for this very situation, of course he didn't take my calls himself, he relayed this through his sales team who actually tried to get him to help me out. I've had the truck a month now with no other issues but the lackluster way this situation was handled has left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be purchasing from any dealerships associated with this one or it's owners again. I drove 200 miles round trip to get this truck. I understand that yes, they technically weren't liable because I signed an agreement but when a mechanic says that it's their fault it broke then a good salesman that cared about his customers and reputation would fix the issue in some way or another. It is what it is I suppose but I figured people should know what kind of people are really in charge over there. At this point it's too late for them to do anything to remedy the situation and I'm done trying to get anything done about it. read more

My daughter and I went in today to get a used car for her. This was our third dealership to visit in as many weeks. The sales person was extremely talkative. We had more facts faster than we could digest them. Not a bad thing but more missed than we adsorbed. Finally in the office going over the numbers the sales person wanted for my daughter to over state her earnings to get the bank to approve the loan. She did it once not entirely understanding what was asked of her. This was not enough and the sales person came back and asked for her to raise what she made again. By now we understood that the bank had a threshold that it would need for her earnings to be to approve the loan. We totally understand the banks position. They do that for a reason for the bank and the customer. It is also there to help the customer from getting in over their heads. Lying on the application, we would have only ourselves to blame. This was unacceptable to us and the sales person was "upset" but did keep his cool. The sales manager came at the salespersons request and confirmed what we suspected. We left disappointed. read more
