Eagle transmission off of Cooper St in Arlington Tx. Is probably the shadiest repair shop in the area. I have a 2003 Silverado That is going on its 3rd rebuilt transmission in 18 months because of their quality of work. I just brought them my truck today. they proceeded to claim my vehicle was out of warranty which is 24mo/24000 miles its been 18mo/11000 miles. then proceeded to tell me the vehicle has trans codes due to electrical issues. which isn't correct either. the only times I've had electrical issues is when they've had the vehicle in their possession, the first time was when they ended up cutting my kill switch on the vehicle and the other time when they happened to disable the neutral safety switch and have an outside company come reprogram with a tech2 device. also with my second visit with the company the catalytic converter was stolen off of my vehicle. so now they don't wont even on their work they do. I've been the auto repair industry for the last 2 years, I've never heard of a company which so bad reviews and a distaste in everyone's mouth. I cannot recommend them more I have taken 2 of my vehicles there for a while now. My Challenger got a whole suspension overhaul at a great price and has driven like a dream since. Its like new now. I took my Jeep there and Ken had to do a lot of work to get her running again. Shortly after that the stressed alternator went out and ken actually found it was the issue and since we are a loyal customer fixed it for FREE after our other big work, Guys in my experience they are fast, well priced, good, and extremely pleasant to work with. Total sales job from beginning. Diagnosis was actually free but all the rest was BS. There estimate was $3500 and claimed it would be much better then new, Sais transmission was trashed inside then the bullshit started flowing, if they offer financing you know its gonna be high or a scam. They also said it was a Mercedes Transmission, its not so parts weren't high like they said. Got car back today from being fixed, They charged me $300 to replace computer and transmission works great now. I found a new computer for $167 online so there fee is very acceptable to me. Places like this should be called out......I can imagine if I had let them fix my tranny then they would have said oh its more $ cause ur trashed tranny also blew the computer. This place is a joke from the get go. I wish to God I would have never taken it to this week transmission shop. The manager Steven is very rude to say the least. I put my transmission in the shop and they kept over a week. Got it out 3 weeks later had to take it back to them same problem. 1 week later had to take it back again. Said it would be a one day turn around because they rebuilt another one and would just have to take one day. LIAR it took 2 more days just to put a transmission in. Nothing else. Creep LIAR. I can't speak highly enough of this place I drop my car off in the morning by early afternoon they had a quote and the parts being shipped and the next day my car was available. They will not tell you a complete cost upfront. They will offer to tow you car for free if you have the work done with them but then tell you it must be past the seals to include towing after it's been towed. They simply tell you it's $$ to take out the transmission and look, they don't tell you it's 2x that to look deeper when they find nothing at first then pay again to put it back in without fixing anything. I'm sorry but if I'm selling a service that requires that I remove something then put it back in I am up front with ALL costs. If they pulled this move in court it would be called perjury. Bad business practice gets you bad reviews people. Call them for yourself and ask how much to rebuild a transmission bet after giving them a year, make and model they still won't tell you anything realistic outside less than 5000 more than 200. read more

Take your money and your vehicle elsewhere and save yourself the headache! This place doesn't know the first thing about customer service and they sure as hell don't know anything about transmissions! I had my vehicle picked up by them two months ago and they gave me a quote of $3600 to rebuild my transmission and they also recommended my battery to be replaced. When I went to pick up my vehicle it wouldn't start. One of the techs came out to look at it and they never replaced the battery. Once they got it running it stalled out on me twice in reverse. I told them and they said it was probably some safety switch but it would be fine. My truck is back in their shop and has been there for almost a week and now they are saying it will be sometime next week and they will call me don't call them. Horrible communication, very disrespectful and clearly they have no clue what the hell they are doing! read more

I had a clutch go out. Staff convinced me to work with them rather than the dealership through promise of OEM parts and a great competitive price for repair. After the repair work the car was returned to Eagle due to the installed clutch the very first day and several times each month thereafter. We later found the clutch was not OEM and it had to be replaced a year later to resolve the intermittent problem Eagle could not pinpoint. We had a very costly and uncomfortable year. read more

Totally would recommend this shop to anyone looking for an honest shop who makes good with their customers. Our Hyundai Santa Fe must have been the most frustrating job they've ever done. Not only did they give us the free inspection, they gave us a fair quote. Like another reviewer stated, they took us into the back room where they do their rebuilds and showed us every part of our mangled transmission. After agreeing on a price, they set to work. This is where things took a turn for the worse. After getting the entire transmission back together, they ran into an electrical problem after reinstalling. They could not find the problem and reached out to every option of help they could, troubleshooting the issue with other shops and other transmission specialists around the country. Finally, and yes, it took quite awhile, they decided it was best to drop the tranny again, at their cost, and tear it open. Finding one issue, they put it back together and reinstalled and got us running. Frank was good about keeping us informed and was amazing about being apologetic for the issue and how long it took to find. Even through all of this, we were happy to have this big repair behind us and headed home. On the ride home, the check engine light came on and so we took it to a local O'Reilly's to have the codes read. Sure enough, they were transmission codes. We called Frank and his response was, "no problem, bring her back and we'll fix it." Again, this was done at no further cost to us. These repairs also took a little while, but they reached out to their resources again and finally decided that the factory had sent them a bad part. After purchasing another, they put everything back together and our little Santa Fe is trudging along perfectly! Long story short, it was a mess. Not just for us, but for the Shop and it's employee's as well. Frank was perfectly kind, funny, and helped us wherever he could. This shop lost money on our job, they had to have. Yet Frank made it seem as if it was his pleasure to do so, just to make it right. I hope I never need his services again, but if I ever do, I will go back without pause. Anyone who says they've gotten bad service from this shop obviously weren't going to be happy no matter what. Frank and his team bent over backwards for us. Thanks guys!!! read more

Mansfield location I brought my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee to this location after, I was told by another location I would need a rebuilt transmission for $3800. I wanted a second opinion after reading some questionable reviews. I found this place after calling the Arlington location. The lady on the phone informed me they had a Mansfield location and that she would get some info and have someone call me. Not more then 2 minutes after hangin up my phone rings. A man introduced himself as Steven and was very pleasant and thoughtful about my situation. After explaining that I am a current grad student who does not have a lot of money for car repairs he assured me that they provide free diagnostics and that it may not be a transmission problem based on the info I had given him. He also assured me if it was a transmission issue he would work with me any way he could. Steven's thoughtfulness and professionalism throughout this whole process was reassuring and quite frankly a relief. I was worried that I was not going to be able to fix my car at a reasonable price and this was the same day that I started a new semester. To make a long story short, they fixed my car and my two front brakes for under 600.00. Turns out it was a connector case issue. My husband will be taking his truck here to have them look at it and I will be bringing my current vehicle as well as any future vehicles here for as long as I live in Mansfield. This place is a nice addition to my wonderful community. It's nice to know their is still honest and trustworthy businesses left in this world. They earned my trust and my business. I was told by Eagle Transmission in Arlington was very knowledgeable on old AMC transmission. I called and was told if I brought my transmission in, they would break it down while I was there and give me a price to rebuild. They would not quote over the phone. I told them I was 2 hours (100 miles) away. I brought the transmission, they would not break it down while I was there but I was told they would break it down and get back to me the next day with price. 2 days later, they called me with an estimate range. Without even touching the transmission, they looked up all the parts to completely rebuild. I can look up parts and just parts replace on my own. The transmission works, just has a hard shift into reverse and low. It is spotless clean. Very little work to be done. I took a second one I had apart and put it back together in an hour. There isn't much to it. I can buy all the parts for it for under $400. With all this, they said around $1600-1700. So far this has been a waste of 4 hours of driving and several phone calls. It is still another 4 hours to pick up my "untouched" transmission from these incompetent idiots. read more

A couple weeks ago, I needed to use my camper van to tow a trailer to an important event. I noticed when getting it ready that it was leaking transmission fluid after towing the trailer. I knew I needed to have the transmission really looked at, but figured changing the fluid before the weekend would buy me some time. I took it to Eagle to have that done. Instead of just taking my money and changing the fluid, they told me they thought I'd be wasting my money and would actually be hastening a total failure due to the detergents in new fluid possibly breaking up any varnish, etc. They advised against driving my van at all, but knew I really needed to use it and suggested I just took it really easy on it, and suggested that I brought it back as soon as I could to have a more thorough look. I took the gamble and tried to use the van that weekend. The transmission totally failed before I even got out of town. I should have listened to them. Anyway, after finding another vehicle to tow the trailer and returning from the weekend event, I brought my van back to Eagle. They didn't just tell me, "Oh, it'll be $X to fix it," without saying anything else. They had me come in and they showed me every part that was damaged. They informed me that many places will just give some high-end rebuild rate when many transmissions only need a couple parts to fix. Eagle, on the other hand, doesn't do this. They quote and fix only what is needed. Well, I really made a mess of my transmission, but they gave me a fair price and good vibes, so I decided to let them fix it. If I could give this business a ZERO, I absolutely would, the manager is even worse than a ZERO. My experience with this entity is as follows: I brought my '05 Suburban to this shop because my transmission was slipping. We dropped our vehicle off around 9am on a Friday. Frank said that he would diagnose my vehicle for free and that the diagnosis would be complete by the afternoon. I was informed on Tuesday that he needs to pull my transmission out of my vehicle and disassemble it to find the problem. Frank told me that this would cost $480. Me, being ignorant regarding auto repair, did not know that there is a diagnostic tool that other, more well established locations could use to run a diagnostic on my transmission without having to pull my transmission. I agreed. Frank then called me Wednesday with this long list of things that were wrong with my vehicle. It all boiled down to the final numbers. He quoted $3200 for a basic transmission rebuild and $3800 for his "spiffy" transmission rebuild. I immediately realized he was more than double charging me. I told him I would call him and let him know whether to move forward or not. When I called to let Frank know that he is to load up my transmission and have my vehicle ready, he promptly starting talking badly of other businesses and told me that the best deal he could offer is $2200 and continued to put down any other business that would do it for a lesser amount. That next day I went and paid the $480 that Frank charged me to release my vehicle. Upon entering, he was smoking a cigarette in his office which made the whole lobby reek and stuffy. As the tow truck driver was driving away with my Suburban an employee stopped the driver and started handing parts of my suburban to the driver because they had been left out of my vehicle AFTER I was told that everything was ready to go. This concerned me so I went inside to voice my concerns to Frank and all he could say was that it was a mistake and that if other parts are missing that I can call him and let him know. There was a very sarcastic apology along with a very unprofessional version of his conflict resolution. I found that quite surprising considering he is such a smooth talker upon entering his business, however there is absolutely no smooth talking or rational conflict resolution given. As I walked out of the building I sighed and Frank mocked my sigh. I turned around and told him how unprofessional he was and his response was "Well I am being as professional as I know how to be with you". Further inspection of my vehicle showed that my transmission was put on cardboard, not plastic, on my tan carpet in the trunk of my vehicle. As mechanics, they should know that oils/liquids soak through the cardboard and stains carpet. This is yet another example of how poorly I was treated. I am completely and utterly disappointed in all the "service" that was given. I will be contacting the better business bureau with my complaints. This location is nothing but a scam and the manager, Frank, is an amateur at best. I do not understand how this location has not been shut down due to all the other reviews that I see that have gone through similar issues with Frank. read more

On June 9, 2015 I drove my car to Eagle Transmissions for their free initial diagnostic service. I spoke to Frank who told me that he would call me by COB to let me know if they found anything wrong. I explained to Frank that my car was running fine and I was only concerned about the ABS and Traction lights that came on. Frank told me that he do the free diagnostic and call me with his findings. During the road test my car was wrecked by an employee. Instead of Frank reporting this to me, he called me back on June 10, at 3:08 p.m. and told me that my car was driving fine but he was concerned about a small amount of metal shaving found in the pan and he wanted to find the part that may be damaged. Frank assured me that this would not cost much of anything to fix and he would have my car back to me within 2 days. On Friday, June 12th, I left several messages with the shop about picking up my car and I never received a call back. On Saturday, June 13th, I called the shop at 8:43 a.m. Frank answered and told me they weren't able to start on my car. I told Frank I would follow up on Monday. I called the shop every day from June 15th thru the morning of June 18th trying to find out what was going on with my car. On June 18th, 2:54 p.m., I received a call from Frank asking me to come in to discuss my car. I told him that he could just tell me over the phone. Frank informed me that my car was wrecked on June 9th during the road test and apologized for not telling me sooner. I told Frank to file a claim with his insurance and put my transmission back into my car. Frank responded by saying that they would charge me for the labor and they could not guarantee that the car would run. I reminded Frank that the car was driving just fine when I brought it to the shop. I also informed Frank that had I known my car was wrecked, I would have immediately terminated all services with the shop. read more

I called them to state my problem and talked with Frank. He said he could have it towed free and do a diagnostic and determine the problems and available solutions/. Vehicle was towed on a Friday and he said he would get back with me on Tuesday. Well took till wednesday for the call and he said he was still reviewing the truck but if I wasnt happy they could put the transmission in the back and charge me 400-500 for the already reviewed work. Wednesday he knew what was up but said he needed to call around on parts to get a proper estimate,. I told him I wasnt looking for a new transmission but in my situation I wanted to have available options that werent too costly. He couldnt give a estimate or round about estimate as he always says, "I learned one thing throughout the years and thats to keep my mouth shut" (wth). He did stress we would have multiple options that werent costly and different levels I would chose from. Thursday he tells me he has it and its $3000 for the rebuild, I am like what happened to the multiple options, if you dont want it we can load the trans into the truck (same B/S) I told him I would be in friday to review the paperwork and explore the option. He said we can do this as early as Monday and have it ready by Wednesday with many options to help with the cost. ALso he would have to order the parts upon approval. I told him I have to talk with some family members, which in my current situation were helping me, and I had to review this with them. Thursday I call later that day, for the previous call was at 1:23pm, and no answer to the facility and left messages. Friday I call at 9:00am and tell him I want to just buy a used one and bring it. After being placed on hold he comes back and my mechanic is working on it and almost done. Really a half a day to rebuild when you didnt have the parts previously and had to order them. I told him to stop, I am not going the route of the doo-doo bird, I will get one and you guys can earn some labor to install, but not no 3000 rebuilt trans. Heck your best out right buying one.. he told me "He wasnt going to stop the mechanic since he was paying him 40.00 an hour, really? Did all this in half a day yo uare over charging my fool, and I am the one paying him and hes not getting paid since I didnt ok. Told him I was coming there, he said you dont have to come, "I am committed to this and you need to be too" Oh, really (didnt know I have law-enforcement background, well I retreieved my vehicle and then he tried some you cant take the vehicle until I am paid $1600.00. Not trying to tell anyone to try and get any service free, but by law shady dealers/stores/businesses cant by law keep your property. I paid the tow fee and diagnostic and took my truck. APD was also notified with all my info on this item and told me if any problems to contact them (AYM). If you go there you are about as insane as Charles Manson, and all the bays were fool, the scam goes on. read more
