Tucked away in back. There is a crew onsite to help drive your tree from the field to your vehicle. No bailer or shaker, however the selection was great. Saws are provided and they do have some already cut trees to choose from. Parking can fill up quick but there's plenty of space. No kid activities, hot cocoa or things like that BUT if you are on a mission just to get the "u cut" tree without all the extras, this is the place! Price $50 for any tree. ANY tree. They have such a wonderfully huge property. Every tree is $30 regardless of size. They provide cutting tools and will help if you ask. I would say if you are looking for a tiny tree you might find a better deal but I would say this will be our go-to spot for every Christmas to come:) read more

We ended up getting our tree here. It took a looong time for us to find one that we liked, as a lot of them were huge, and a lot of them had dead needles / branches. That being said, we were able to find something we liked eventually when we went to another field, and you can't beat $25 for any sized tree. The biggest negative was that there was no shaking and baling available. Also, all of their trees had that sparse look to them. It's a style that isn't for everyone. It was very busy, so this seems like it's a popular place. You pay in a semi-permanent tented area. They also had wreathes and mistletoe for sale, and there was a neat train engine setup to look at. Saws were available to borrow. People were driving around with trailers to help you tote your tree up to the parking lot. read more

For 25 dollars a tree, you really can't beat it. The tree has been in the living room for about five days now and holding up well. It was pretty busy the day we visited (being the weekend after Thanksgiving). After parking we walked around to the covered area where the registers are. After asking a friendly worker where the saws were, we headed out on the grounds. There are so many trees here! The varieties they carry is pretty minimal, but with so many trees around, we were able to find several that suited our needs. It was fun to explore the different areas and look at all the mushrooms growing on the ground. When we finally cut down our tree, it was a short walk before a man driving a cart saw us and loaded the tree onto the cart to be transported to our car. After that, you pay in the covered area where the registers are located. They have string to tie the tree to your car.....but it would be a good idea to bring your own in case theirs aren't long enough. We actually had to tie some of our strings together to make it work. Who knew that Charlie Brown noble firs came in so many sizes? These trees are horrible. Sparsely limbed, unhealthy looking, and not at all groomed or tended to. We walked around for 30 minutes or so and didn't see anything remotely worth harvesting. $25 is too much for these fire trap trees. Good thing Lolich's is right down the road and had a large selection of fresh and healthy trees to choose from. read more

Umm, this place is a dump?! Umm, that is a dump! Today was the day to go out and get a Christmas tree. We were told that Vandermost Farms had great deals ($25) on all Christmas trees. Off we headed with the family. The trees were pretty awful. You could tell that they had not been trimmed or cared for in many cases. In some cases the trunks were huge while the tree had remained small. Most likely the symptom of over trimming for too many years without a sale. The most disturbing thing was the dump right next door. I had not done my research. Turns out the owner of this tree farm is also the owner of the Lakeside Land Fill. The same one who is at ware with Ponzi Vineyards over the mess he is creating. So, if you are thinking of heading here to get a tree, I suggest heading elsewhere. read more

A fantastic selection of you-cut Christmas trees here. Not many differing varieties, but what are here are truly beautiful. My estimate is that there are 25 acres of trees, most in the 5' to 12' class, with many taller. Very helpful staff, some with Kubota utility vehicles lurking along the roads ready to pick your tree and help load it. All trees regardless of size are $25 this year. Many types and sizes of hanging wreaths for sale near the covered register area, many with multi-colored adornments. Mistletoe is sold in small bunches wrapped in clear cellophane for a dollar. That's a Deal in my book. The parking lot surrounds a residence that is secluded from the small paved side road off of Scholls Ferry Road. Be brave, drive all the way around to the back of the house for parking. The cashier area will be easily visible at the back. Pick up your handsaw here and head out. Make it an adventure and seek out the further reaches of the farm. Your special tree is here, I'll bet. Go find it! Small side note- if it raining or if it has recently rained, wear a trusty pair of shoes. My family and I have been getting our trees here for the past 7 years. It is a nice family farm with a huge selection of noble and nordmann fir trees, each is only $25 no matter how large or small. The trees appear to be well cared for. The grounds are mostly grassy, not overly muddy, but still rain boots are recommended. The people are very friendly. There are guys driving around in small tractors to help haul your tree back to the parking lot if you wish. Inside the area where you pay, there are homemade wreaths for sale, and also an antique steam train engine which was a huge treat for the kids when they were smaller. We have been completely satisfied with each and every tree from this farm. They each have lasted inside the house for at least 4-6 weeks. We won't go anywhere else. read more

This was our family's first time at Vandermost's and we had a great time! There are so many trees to choose from and for $25 bucks no matter the size, you really can't beat that! I've seen a lot of complaints on here that a lot of trees had dead limbs, spiders/bugs but come on guys. These are living trees growing on someone's property. They're not pre-bought, cut down days or weeks before they make it to a Christmas tree lot where they're shaken out and spruced up for you to buy. I think it's common sense to expect these flaws but I digress. Vandermost had a lot of gorgeous trees large and small and saws to borrow to cut them down with. The staff were friendly from the gals making wreaths to the gentlemen hauling your tree up to your car for you. Where you cash out is a little shop with unique handmade wreaths of all sizes, bundles of mistletoe or holly to purchase and garland. They even had an old lit up train in there that kids loved taking pictures on or ringing the bell. Our little family had such a good time. We'll definitely be back next year! read more

For the true Oregonian this place is awesome! Yup, the trees have a few brown needles, a few spiders, and not over shaped like all the other oved priced farms in the area. But that is what you should expect with a Real Tree! Huge trees, any size $25! We were able to bring along our dog and had a fun hunt to find the perfect one! We got a beautiful tree probably 15', only problem was we needed more lights to put on it! No shaker or bailing only meant we had to do both ourselves, which added to the fun! read more

From an experience perspective this place it not terrible (though that is not a complement), but it's got the standard stuff - barn full of wreaths, hot cocoa, etc. However, our biggest gripe, which will prevent us from ever returning, is the tree itself. We've had it in the house for less than 5 days and it is dry and dead. We followed all the standard protocol, I'm convinced they just take terrible care and/or possibly have these shipped in. My spouse and I have gotten trees here in the past and returned this year after trying a few other places in the interim. While the hunt is part of our Christmas tradition, our experience at Vandermost was overly difficult due to the overgrown size and quality of trees, and worst of all, no help getting our tree up onto their cart and from it to our car. Regarding the tree quality, we walked around for nearly three hours, finding a lot of trees off color or with a large proportion of dead needles, not what we want in our house. They look bad and would make a big mess throughout the season. We finally decided to cut the top out of a rare healthy looking tree and asked if we could get help getting it to our car and loaded on top. We were told yes, they would call someone, and shortly afterward a man came by with a cart. Though it would have been easier to pull up with our car, especially since the tree was right behind the nearby barn, the man said, "no!" and then refused to even respond to anything else we said. The tree was very heavy and we asked several times if he could help, but he did not even acknowledge us. My spouse and I struggled to get it ourselves, even considered cutting our losses and going to request a refund, but at last, albeit with sore backs and some scratches on our car, got it first into the cart and then from the cart to our car. In the end, we got a nice tree for $25, but can't remember a more negative experience getting one. It was a weekday in early December, and perhaps the staff is more helpful on weekends, but going here is definitely a huge effort, and they may not have what you want at all. read more
