August 16, 2023 As many of us are aware, and after 30 years, in the same location, Irma had to relocate her business due to the chamber selling the building. Today, I finally was able to visit Irma at her new location after making an appointment the week prior. I'm still sad she had to move her hair salon but happy to see her back to working her shears. After moving and not being able to find a good hairstylist for my girlfriend, we ended up here. We had heard about this place through a family friend that came in here once so we decided to come and visit. My girlfriend got hair coloring done and she could not be any happier. I decided to get a quick haircut my self and the lady was very knowledgeable on how to use the clippers. The best part about Vanessa's, other than their great job on the hair cuts, coloring and even the customer service, has to be the price. For the amount of stuff that we both had done, she charged very cheaply. Once we were done, she made sure to ask us how we felt and if everything was done well and proceeded to thanking us for coming in. Pros: PRICE, Customer service, quality, style, quick, professional and knowledgeable. Cons: Surprised that there is not enough reviews about this place. This place needs to be more known. $10 for a trim and she didn't ruin my hair which is really easy to do because I have a growing out pixie cut and it has been butchered in the past which would always force me to go all the way up to LA to my old hair dresser so she can fix a trim gone wrong. She was very considerate of what I wanted for my hair. However, I'm not sure if there was a language barrier or if I'm just terrible at explaining things which is why she looked confused so that would be my only concern if I were to go there for anything more than a trim. If you're looking for hair coloring services, DO NOT go here. I went in wanting sort of like an ombre balayage type style. Dark to medium browns a few lighter strands here and there and was left severely disappointed. The lady who did my hair, Irma I think, kept saying the results were because of how low I wanted the lighter pieces to gstart but really it was because she cant blend hair dye to save her life. After explaining I was not satisfied she tried to fix it but still left me with a straight line between the brown and blonde hair. It was literally garbage. I asked to be refunded, she refused but 're scheduled me to come in for an all over color to fix it again (this would be her second attempt at fixing but 3rd time dying my hair) I took the appointment but will not be returning as I do not want to put my hair through a 3rd damaging dye with someone who clearly lacks the skills required to do it. read more

Went here because of the good reviews as well, and for the price it was a fair haircut. I have long straight hair and got a trim (about 3 inches) for $18. The facility is a bit old and dirty looking, and the hairbrush the worker used to cut my hair was a bit old an dirty looking as well (doubtfully cleaned between uses). I hope no one before me had lice or anything :/ . The haircut itself was ok; I would have preferred a softer looking hair cut line as opposed to it being completely straight. If you're on a budget, I'd say this place is ok, but as for me I don't think I'd go here again. read more
