    Bistro Sandwich w/ Sweet Plantains

I walked in and there were about 3 ppl ahead of us in line for the kiosks and then I ordered the Bistro sandwich. The kiosks were pretty close to each other so it was a pretty tight squeeze with your neighbor when ordering. I paid about $15 for this meal of the sandwich, a side, and the fruit juice. After I waited 25 minutes for 1 sandwich, I walked up and asked how much longer for my food to be ready. It was already ready but the workers were talking so they didn't package my food and call my name yet. It was also loud enough to the point where my girlfriend asked to eat outside. The Bistro sandwich included eggs, ham, sausage, and cheese between your choice of bread and you can choose toppings. It was mostly pretty flavorless so I'm very glad I put sauces to help balance that. Next, the ingredients I mentioned were all super soft which kinda sorta sounds good but I could only tolerate eating a sandwich of mush for so long. The redeeming factors of the sandwich was the bread and the size. I got the medianoche bread and that was pretty yummy and it was also a pretty hefty sandwich. Plantains were good, nothing special about them. Maybe I just chose the wrong sandwich for breakfast :( I sat outside and was greeted by friendly bees who wanted my food. I'm actually quite fond of bees, but I appreciate them more when they're getting their own food. TLDR; Long wait times (25 min @ 12 pm on Saturday), Bistro sandwich was big with customizable toppings but not very good, bread is good, price is okay.

My first time visiting a Puerto Rican bakery. Jason explained the menu patiently. Thank you! I came back the next day to get more :) love the Yuca Frita, ham croquettes and triple meat jibaritos (plantain bread?)

The other half was a lot more burnt

I usually come here and dint have any problem with the food, usually I have to wait about 15 min. This time around there were two people already waiting infront of me, they took 35 minutes just to "finish" my order. When I get to the car I check my order just in case and I was missing an order of toast, I go back and tell the employee at the front that I was missing the toast from my order, and I had to wait another 5 to 7 minutes for an order of toast, just to find out the were burnt. They had poor time management on all orders, while also affecting the client's health.

This is a Puerto Rican spot that is delicious that I had to get breakfast and lunch in the same day. I started off with their breakfast sandwich on a Cuban bread which was a 10/10. I got a runny egg so it was perfect the way the sandwich was made. Then for lunch I got a beef empanada which reminded me of how my great grandma made it from San Juan. It was perfectly seasoned and didn't have olives or anything extra, just ate that with mayo ketchup. The cashiers were nice and if we needed to be explain the menu they are willing to help. There is seating inside and outside for the Lake Nona location and a perfect spot to eat at.

We went at around 9:30 am, pretty busy. Easy to order. We noticed that it was all women workers and thought that was pretty neat. I think they can improve on getting people their food or drinks, instead of you having to ask if what is out on the counter is yours. It does feel homey which I liked. The prices were reasonable, because I ordered an egg sandwich and I ate breakfast and lunch from it. We also ordered a piña colada which was delicious and their coffee is good too. I definitely recommend. Love places where their food is fresh and not frozen.

I'm not from the area. I'm more to the south of Florida, was in the area dropping off a friend at Orlando airport. I decided to get some Puerto Rican food (in my area is rare to find) and all I have to say is WOW. I order the Tripleta Jibarito sandwich and oh my. This was perfection. I had mine with the sorullitos, and after tasting the sorullitos I wished I could had bought an extra side order. Besides the food the place is immaculate clean. Love the wall art and pictures representing the island of PR. The vibe was perfect. It felt good to be around my people, but the most important thing is the honesty of the workers. Do you know that while there I used the bathroom. I guess while drying my hands my husband's wedding band which I wear in my pointer finger (he passed away a month ago) must've slipped out. I make the drive back home, which is 1 1/2 hours and a few hours later I noticed that my ring was not on my finger. I bawled like a baby. Anyway after searching around the house and car, I decided to call the restaurant, and lo and behold someone had found it and gave it to one of the staff. His name is Grabiel. Talk about honest people. Gabriel, if you are reading this thank you from the bottom of my heart. My husband of 35 years never took of this ring, so me wearing it keeps me connected to him. Thank you to the person that found it and returned it. You all made my day. I had my sister which lives 20 minutes away pick it up. I don't care what they say my people are the best!! Honest, caring and hardworking.

So excited Taínos is here now! The best off bakery, cafe, frappes, and ready to eat hot food. Want to get a quick bite in total Puerto Rican awesomeness, then search no further! No wonder this is their 5th and newest location. Noise level is standard, and may hold a one on one meeting, if you don't mind the wonderful beats of drums and trumpets as they play Salsa. I so wanted to get up and dance to the old school sounds of Frankie Ruiz and Lalo Rodríguez. They do have tropical juices, but only the orange juice is fresh squeezed. What did I try? I had a pionono empanadilla (empanada stuffed with sweet plantains and ground beef) and it was just right! I also had a passion fruit container juice. All good. Took some quesitos home that I'm sure will not disappoint.

So excited to have found this place! Only tried a few things -- guava y queso pastelito, quesito, alcapurria (which I haven't had in years) and papa rellena. Soooo yum! Service was fast and friendly. And the prices were very reasonable. They have a great menu that I hope to try soon. Will definitely come back.

WAS so excited to drive here from Gainesville fla to try this place and at 2:20 Pm Thursday they were out food cause they didn't order enough for the week!! They should've went a Latin supermarket and filled their order for the week it's a shame!!! :( Chicken was worst!!

Hi I recently visited Tainos Bakery from Lake Nona and ordered a Mofongo with carne frita. The meat was good but the Mofongo had no taste at all.

    Porkys yum!

A nice addition to this busy plaza's variety. If you're looking for a quick and filling bite I definitely suggest them. So far I've had a few sandwiches and no regrets. The size is big that many only eat half and take the rest for later. The porkys Bbq is a perfect mix of meats with a sweet savory taste. The jibaritos are great when you have them fresh, using plantain instead of bread it's a nice healthier change up. I would have given the fifth star but sometimes there's a language issues as my Spanish is terrible, and sometimes they have to hunt someone from the back to translate my order but it's worth it for a tasty, filling meal at a nice price.

I recently moved to Orlando and was pleasantly surprised with Taino Bakery in Lake Nona. The restaurant is very clean. The employees are very good at explaining the menu and ingredients. As a Puerto Rican, it had been a long since I had a good, authentic Tripleta sandwich. It was delicious and with authentic flavors. The mofongo was very soft, well seasoned and garlicky. The order of mofongo and pork was very generous. My daughter ordered a Twix frappe and it is the best I've had. Also try the bakery treats. The quesitos are delicious.

My favorite local spot to grab quick food from! I love the pancakes here! The best pancakes I've had in Orlando. The pizza empanada is also very good. I haven't tried their Mofongo yet but the Mallorca sandwich is big and very good. I usually will have the grilled chicken platter with rice, beans, and sweet plantains and it's so good! Usually Tainos is busy on the weekends or during lunch time during the week. There is indoor and outdoor seating, music playing indoors

The candied pecans gave it a contrasting sugared crunch making it really addicting to eat, and the candied oranges rounded out the flavors. I hope they'll keep bringing this cookie back!

I personally prefer a softer, fluffy cake with a noticeable cocoa flavor and a tangy cream cheese frosting. Gideon's version was very different from that. The color was much more intensely red than I personally like, and I felt like I could taste the coloring. The texture of my slice also felt more wet/dense than moist and fluffy. There was plenty of frosting, but the cream cheese flavor was much more subtle than I prefer. I know this cake has a lot of fans, so I think this really comes down to style and personal preference. One feature I really appreciated was the charging ports built into the high-top seating area, making it a great spot for studying, working, or simply enjoying a dessert and drink.
