We do have a small child with us, but we decided to sit outside. This made the wait a lot shorter than I'm waiting for inside. It was very hot, but they do have a nice outdoor area that's shaded and they do have an additional fan to help with the heat. Our food came out relatively quickly, and everything was delicious. Woah! If you are hungry this is the place to be... I've wanted to check this spot for brunch for awhile but most of the time we've passed it's been super busy. Got lucky this time!! Oh man, I actually forget the exact names of what we ordered. I do remember asking the cashier for recommendation and she told us her favorites and what she recommended. She did not list the item I originally wanted as her favorite, but she did note that it was popular and one of the most ordered by newcomers. Going back recently for breakfast was a great reminder of how delicious the food is here. Had a couple or friends grab a spot in line around 8:30, a bit prior to opening time which is 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Once my party of 8 entered, we approached the counter separately to place our orders. The young man working the register was full of pep. He clearly had his coffee. I envy his morning person mentality. Food arrived in good timing. Not everything at once, but no major lags. Every bite (which totaled more than 7) was full of flavor. Those grits are perfection. No need for salt or pepper. They are impeccably seasoned. My hashbrown cakes with pimento cheese also had me luxuriating over each morsel. Blissful flavor. My main entrée was also soooo good. Our trays were bussed appropriately and all staff was amiable. My only improvement would be the state of the restroom. Only an hour into being open and the trash can was overflowing. The service was amazing and I loved the ambiance, with the group seating. As they serve you after you sit, however I had a lot of gripes with the food quality. Everything "Looked" delicious and as you'd expect with the prices but after eating. It's made with more of a phyllo-style crust, so it was really flaky, but I personally missed that classic buttery pie crust. The Minnie Pearl was my favorite by far. The chicken was crispy, the waffle had that slight sweetness, and everything together just worked. Probably one of the better chicken and waffles I've had in Orlando. It has a casual, cozy, neighborhood feel. It's not very big, so it can get a little busy, but it adds to that local spot vibe. Service was friendly and straightforward. Visiting from California and had to give this place a try. My husband and I walked in and McKenzie was there to greet us. She was absolutely amazing! She explained the menu and gave us recommendations and unfortunately how to tell us that the pot pies were sold out (understandably so since we arrived an hour before closing). Keep in mind the kitchen closes 15 minutes before the restaurant does*** My husband and I decided to split the Minnie Pearl, which is their amazing take on chicken and waffles. However, I definitely think their grits were the star of the show! I believe they were a cheddar cheese and chive grit, and they were absolutely amazing! My excitement began to wear off after sitting at my table for 30 minutes and watching people who came in 20 minutes after us, get their food promptly. We stopped one of the staff who kept walking by and asked them about our food order. She brushed it off about tickets and the orders before us being worked on. I tried to explain nicely that the people getting their food were people who came in after us but she brushed it off and never checked the kitchen for us. We came in for lunch on a Thursday around noon and there was no line. You should note this restaurant is closed Monday-Wednesday. We were greeted by friendly staff. I ordered a Southern Cobb salad with fried chicken and ranch dressing and a diet coke. We grabbed the end of one of the long tables in the dining area. Food came out pretty quick. My salad was large and very good. All the veggies were crisp and the chicken was cooked great. I really enjoyed my lunch and I know the others girls said they did too. Their fried chicken is excellent, I've never seen an overcooked egg, their grits are amazing, their gravies are perfect, their biscuits are to die for, and their Mac n cheese is creamy delicious goodness. I haven't tried their lunch menu myself because I can't bring myself to not order breakfast. Between the Minnie pearl, three little pigs, seventh trimester, their specials, and even their sausage sandwich, nothing on a lunch menu could ever tempt me away. And don't even get me started on their bakery! Their bakery is a separate counter with cakes, cookies, handpies, brownies, and whoopie pies. It's served with a side of cheddar chive grits. The portions are generous, and every component was flawless. The chicken had an incredible crust, the biscuit was flaky and buttery, and the touch of marmalade created the perfect sweet-and-savory bite. The grits were creamy, savory, and totally crave-worthy. I don't even typically like breakfast, but this was easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The service matched the quality of the food. After ordering, you get a number and seat yourself. Our food and drinks came out incredibly quickly. The floor is well-staffed with a team that is consistently friendly and attentive, quickly clearing plates so your table never feels crowded. On your way to the tables, you pass a gorgeous bakery counter with seasonal selections and staples displayed under glass. Food so good, it put us in a coma. This place may have the best chicken and waffles that you will ever eat. Pearl sugar waffles with a piece of crunchy fried chicken, egg, and housemade vanilla syrup...the only thing that could go wrong is a sugar crash if you're over the age of 20. But, it's well worth it. The grits that it came with were deliciously savoury as well. I placed a pick-up order so I didn't have to deal with the line that wrapped around the building. It was very easy to place the order over the phone and I would highly recommend it after seeing the crowd dining in on a Saturday afternoon. Bit tough to navigate through the crowd and no signage for picking up to-go orders but an employee saw me looking lost and assisted right away. The bakery in the corner is so neat, I purchased a ding dong and the bacon smores. Honestly, could have done without the smore. The ding dong was a moist chocolate cake covered in a chocolatey coat (my partner ate half of the dingdong and said his bite had an odd chewy chunk in it, my half didn't have the present) but the smore just tasted stale. The burger need some sort of sauce because it gets a little dry and the fries need more ranch seasoning. Other than 2-3 fries that were randomly heavily seasoned, the ranch flavor was pretty subtle. At the suggestion of the cashier, we went over to the pastry/dessert bar and ordered the cinnamon roll that's apparently only available on Sundays. We walked out back and grabbed a picnic table. We were a bit disappointed that there wasn't "more" to the back patio. It was just right along the parking lot with not much ambiance. Our coffees and water were delivered soon after we sat down, and we ate the cinnamon roll while we waited for our sandwiches. It was good, but nothing that made it special from other cinnamon rolls I've had, particularly since it was $8. The sandwiches were delivered not long afterwards. They came out freshly made and hot. They were also very big. The biscuits were so tall, fluffy, and flavorful. My egg was cooked the regular way (over medium), though, so it wasn't super juicy for the otherwise dryish biscuit. Thankfully there was also hollandaise sauce. The sandwich was delicious, and the hashbrown casserole was amazing and creamy. Would we go back? For the food, definitely. Their fried chicken is outstanding in how crunchy they are in their outside and how juicy they remain inside. Everybody at the table enjoyed their waffles and pancakes and biscuits. I think their grits might have been a little undersalted or underseasoned from our last visit a couple years ago, but they were still good. Oh, the gravy in one of the specials was fantastic. This is a hole in the wall restaurant. I have lived in Orlando for many years and found this place by accident. The food was fresh. The service was warm and friendly. They complete the package and I see why they have return customers. Not a chain restaurant and it shows. No wait to get in and the owner down to the cashier were all awesome to deal with! read more

Food The food is good, and I enjoy the flavors. The temperature tends to be more "under-the-lamp warm" rather than fresh and hot. The biscuits are nice and fluffy, while the eggs are on the smaller side. Service The service model is pay-at-the-counter and then sit down, but they still bring out your drinks and food. It can be difficult to get a drink refill, and I eventually had to walk up to the staff to ask. One complaint is the menu listing: under sides it says "egg $2.00," but they require you to order two eggs, making it $4.00. I was told it must come as two eggs--unclear why--but if that's the case, the menu should be updated to avoid misleading customers. Ambiance The place is cute with both indoor and outdoor seating. I love the signs inside, which add a charming touch to the atmosphere. The owner had the community paint the parking lot in support of the community. Loved it! read more
