Hiring this contractor turned out to be one of the worst and costliest decisions I have ever made…read more The contract was for over $200,000 to lift the house and install a basement ADU. More than three months after the project was to be completed, I hired a lawyer to determine how to proceed given the poor quality work I was seeing and not knowing when the job would be done. Their standard contact language indicates payment to client of $300 a day for liquidated damages for each day beyond the contract end date. I had a ton of documentation about their delays, business practices and my damages and felt extremely confident going to court but late in the game I learned that they could just claim bankruptcy and I would never see a penny of what they owed; this on top of all of my attorney fees. They do go by N & R, NRC Homes and Megapolis so gave me pause about their claim of not having any assets. In the end, I settled to avoid this possibility of eating all costs. Below is just a short list of the experience I had with this contractor. I do think their concrete and framing crew leads and crews are great but they are told what to do by Anatoliy and Alexander. I'm happy to show anyone all the documentation I have of this horrid and costly experience. * Project end date was end of August and project was still not complete in December and quality of work was taking a nose dive. * Tried to claim a change order of more than $3,000 for reestablishing status quo electricity to my house and shop. They said they needed to rewire and move the electrical panel outside or I would trip the breakers in my house. This didn't seem to be a problem for the electrician I hired when I refused to pay for reestablishing status quo; panel is inside per plan and no major rewiring was needed. * Installed R-11 insulation when plan called for R-19. Did not communicate or submit change order prior to installing. I just caught it and called them on it. * Installed spigot several inches proud of wall and it leaks making it prone to bursting and flooding the apartment. * Had to take numerous measures in December to keep pipes from freezing in backyard wood shop b/c they did not install a shut off valve. * Their electrician told me what step lights to buy then installed electrical boxes that were too small to accommodate any step light. I had to build wooden boxes to house the lights. Spent many hours with my electrician and my time trying to remedy the situation. Still trying to fix so they are waterproof. * Billings often included charges for work that was not done which was corrected after I called them on it. I was even told one time that it was a "Quick Books' glitch but somehow it always benefitted them. * They tried to install the wood flooring in the basement when humidity levels were substantially higher than the manufacturer's instructions. I even sent them the conditions of installation several days earlier b/c I suspected they would do this. Subs and a new manager, who I never was introduced to, showed up to install the floor in the pouring rain. I turned them away saying it would void my warranty. They tried to bully me into doing it that day saying they would be back if there were any future problems and that if I didn't install it that day, it may delay my project for weeks. In the end, they brought over a dehumidifier and installed it a couple days later. * Did not install deck step to grade per plan and just pushed up the dirt and held it back with leftover wood flooring boards. I had to pay for materials and labor to accommodate the grade change by building a small retaining wall. * Brand new Kohler cast iron tub has permanent rust stains from leaving nails in standing water. It's also not close to being level. * Plan called for casting bolts into concrete for outside railing. Was not done. I had to pay for more complicated installation and also have ugly concrete patch where I had to remove an extended concrete lip which was a tripping hazard.

We recently worked with him on a home project that included new flooring, a full kitchen demo and remodel, and redoing our fireplace. He came highly recommended to us by our designer (Andrea with Copper Boom Design) and I am glad we listened. From the moment we met Artur during a project scoping meeting, I noticed his attention to detail and keen eye. He asked thoughtful questions, identified potential risks that would require extra work, and was very thoughtful about his commitments. On the first day of work, Artur showed up at exactly 8am as he had promised and immediately got underway. Without fail, he arrived at the exact time he said he would each day he said he would be on site. He communicated any materials delays, concerns, or risks without hesitation and with appropriate urgency. More than that, he tolerated our questions and concerns throughout with kindness and respect, even the very silly ones. At the end of each day, Artur could be found organizing his tools in one place to keep them out of the way, vacuuming where he had worked to prevent dust and mess, and cleaning up the outside workspaces. Who would've thunk?…read more Actually when we couldn't determine the source of the leak we checked Yelp and found Kelley's in Everett. They came out, gave us a free evaluation and determined not so much a leak from a pipe but more from the bathtub wall on the other side, water running down and flowing through the path of least resistance. Older house, bath tile on dry wall etc. Well we decided just to do the whole bathroom to be sure and it came out nice! They not only determined the area of leakage, but found and pointed out issues and flaws from the original build and fixed them. They do excellent work, great customer service. They don't up sell and are very professional. Clean up was great and they even carpet cleaned the traffic area they walked through after the job. Then come to find they do so much more. Went here for flooring for stairs and bedrooms, I had purchased laminate flooring for downstairs…read moreonline thinking I was getting a good deal but the MDF backed flooring I got is crap, so I wanted to see what I was actually buying. I really wanted a bamboo based laminate but all of theirs were mdf backed so we just went with a regular plywood backed laminate. The one we chose was out of stock but due in so we went ahead and ordered it, came in pretty quick and so far the flooring I put on the stairs looks great, we have medium size dogs that run up and down stairs and it is holding up great, I will probably end up redoing the downstairs with flooring from these folks.
