Non-traditional future bride here! I found Vanity Belle on Yelp. I booked my Bridal preview, which is basically a trial for the wedding. I paid $200 for the trial makeup for hair and makeup. I'm not a traditional bride by any means. I asked for bold, gothic makeup. Which I know, most brides go for natural makeup. I wanted smokey eyes and bold, wine lips. And a flawless, porcelain face. Basically, vampire makeup lol the airbrush makeup really took my interest as well. The shop is laidback, and all of the artists make you feel comfortable. Taylor was my artist. She was very friendly and listened to what I wanted. I asked for goth glam and she delivered. The makeup and hair both came out great. She did airbrush makeup and that was really fun to try out! Vanity Belle saved the day! I needed a new hair and makeup team 6 months into wedding planning and I was terrified to find someone new! I had trials with Stephanie (hair) and Michelle (makeup) and instantly fell in love. I woke up on my wedding day second guessing my hair and makeup looks! I know how difficult it can be having two brides but Jonathan was great with the initial communication and schedule. Danielle was a sweetheart not getting frustrated with multiple day of schedule changes after bridesmaids dropped off. Both myself and my bride looked amazing! Our hair by Denise staying in place for the entire day and throughout our all night dancing! Allison our makeup artist was perfect I asked for more of a natural look and she was able to accommodate everything I wanted. I'm not big on hair and makeup and they made it a smooth process from the beginning. Keep in mind there are extra changes for locations further out and early start times, but when it was all said and done a little over $2k with tip for 2 brides , 5 bridesmaids hair and 3 bridesmaid makeup services. read more

Aimee-Beth and Karissa were absolutely amazing!! Starting with my trial they were both so attentive and took the time to understand what I was looking for. They were happy to try different things to make sure everything was exactly how I envisioned. I have long thick hair and Karissa took her time and had so much patience and care with it. On the day of my wedding, they showed up on time and with such a calm demeanor. We were having some issues getting music going and Aime-Beth was prepared and quickly set something up. They both went above and beyond in making sure the vibe in the room was calm and positive and not chaotic or stressful. I had a large group and they stayed on schedule. Unfortunately, this is a 1 star review...If I could give it less than 1 star I would. I originally reached out to Vanity Belle via phone on 12/6 to request hair and makeup for 12/20. I left a detailed messaged and asked for a call back. On 12/7, I got a text asking me to go online which I did. I submitted my request and received a reply go online and submit my info again. I did it immediately and just waited. I was told that the date was available and that was confirmed online through their booking system. Finally on 12/13, I received another link to confirm my services. I followed the prompts and didn't hear back from them until later that day. I began to email back and forth with Jonathan Nino who is their Bridal Director. He asked for the times and I told him. Keep in mind, I'm assuming they are available like they previously stated. 2 days later on 12/15 he replies with "I'm sorry, I no availability for the 20th:(" that is a direct copy and paste from our email thread. So, now you aren't available when you said you were? I was counting on them and didn't contact anyone else for services. I asked if he had anyone else who might be available and the reply was curt. He just replied with "No:( Sorry!" No follow-up, no courtesy and completely unbothered. Thankfully I found someone MUCH better in my area who was polite, professional and answered quickly. At first I was so bothered by this but after looking at the reviews, I'm glad it didn't work out. I can't imagine having to deal with their unprofessionalism and sub par work. If Jonathan is a Director and this is the kind of customer service I'm receiving from the lead...no thanks. It's a hard pass for me. Lesson learned! TLDR: My trial was a failure on all levels (expectations, safety, results & experience) Expectations: I booked hair & makeup and was confirmed with two people, Michelle (makeup) & Krystal (hair). When I showed up, only Krystal was there with no explanation. On my wedding day, to stay on schedule, I need two people so this was an immediate problem. This felt like a bait & switch. Expectations part 2 & Safety: VB has a long list of COVID rules in their confirmation email, including wearing a mask at all times until makeup needs to be applied to the lower half of your face. None of the precautions were followed & for the majority of my appointment I was the only one wearing a mask. Krystal immediately told me I didn't need to wear one, then condescendingly said "you know you'll have to take it off anyway for makeup." Results: The hair could have worked, with some feedback. It's not full enough and it fell more almost immediately. Krystal curled, teased and then bobby pinned the style. I have thick, long, heavy hair so some sort of structure beyond bobby pins was needed (hidden braid maybe). The makeup was terrible. Not only did the foundation start to flake immediately, it looked nothing like my inspiration picture. The eyelids were just a wash of peachy color, no shading. She didn't bother to contour my face at all. My brows were barely touched. The lipstick clashed with the eye shadow. I felt at that point she just wanted the appointment to be over. Experience: I don't know if it was the mask thing or just a bad day, but Krystal barely talked to me during my 2.5 hours in the salon, including not asking much about my hair or skin. The skin situation clearly resulted in worse results (dry patchy areas immediately after application). The other bride doing a trial at the same time had two providers who were cheerful & chatty. That's the energy I need on my wedding morning. Overall: 1/10 what a waste of time & money. My biggest issue is the lack of follow through on what was promised (2 providers, COVID rules). Was sent a proposal from Jonathan (director) for pricing and when I asked for the contract he raised the cost of some line items without telling me and put a same day turn around requirement for me to sign, hoping I wouldn't notice. Stay away from this business for your wedding needs as they are not honest and not trustworthy. Firstly, I want to say that my makeup artist (Karissa Lorinne) and the hair stylist (Denise Sherri Anne) were awesome. I would highly recommend both of them! They did such a great job on my hair and makeup and that of my mom, and my sister-in-law. They also took the time to make my little niece feel comfortable and provide her with a little makeup and a braid for the wedding. She was being a bit difficult, but they were really patient with her. She was also not on the schedule, so they went out of their way to do this (I had paid for an additional person, but they are unable to attend, so the service itself was essentially paid for). While Karissa and Denise were great - the entire booking/scheduling system (Honeybook) with Jonathan was a bit unorganized. It was very difficult to find a time that worked and we traded a large number of emails back and forth. A phone call or an instant chat service might have been easier and more efficient. There was also an issue with me coming in for my bridal makeup/hair trial and my original makeup artist was unavailable (which was fine, it was an emergency), but Jonathan emailed me to tell me, rather than giving me a phone call to let me know. I was driving (hour and a half away) to the appointment when he emailed me, so I arrived to find out that I would not be able to get my makeup trial that day, which I had taken the day off from work for since it was rather far from my home. The scheduling issues and the lack of a phone call when my service was essentially cancelled is the reason why I am removing one star. read more

I've known Karina for years & have never been more satisfied in giving her the opportunity to be the first one to ever get her hands on my hair. I honestly had doubts before booking with her since I've had damaged hair before (due to hair being done at home lol). My hair used to be shoulder length since it would rip out from how damaged it was. After 6-7 years of not touching my hair and of course because of aging/hereditary, I ended up getting a bunch of gray hairs (biggest insecurity) I gave my full trust to Karina & all I can say is Wow!!!!!! I had Vanity Belle do my hair and makeup trial for my wedding, some pre-wedding hair services, and day of bridal hair and makeup for myself, as well as bridal party hair and makeup for bridesmaids. I am extremely impressed and pleased with their service. They are very professional and also have a website with contracts that you digitally view and sign. The owner of the salon is very responsive and helpful with answering any questions that you may have. It is stressful to plan a schedule for multiple hair and makeup services but they made it as easy as it could be. Domenique is my favorite-she did my hair and make up trial and dealt with my dry, damaged and thick unruly lion's mane of hair, She did not rush or try to finish the trial or the day of without making me happy. This gave me peace of mind for the wedding day look. I suggest taking your hair peice, tiara or accessory with you to your trial so they can place it for you and take pictures so you know how it will look like on the day of. Also, if you want some pre-wedding highlights, cut, keratin treatments, or whatever else, they are a full salon so I can recommend their services in that aspect as well! On the day of the wedding, all artists arrived on time and were great at getting everyone ready. The only recommendation I would make is to give an hour of extra time leeway because people end up taking longer to get ready/services run over time from the 45 minute allotted time slot. Natalie and Domenique were both at the bridal suite and everyone was very happy with their hair and makeup service! Al lthe girls looked gorgeous. I was so extremely happy with how my hair and makeup stayed in place too ALL NIGHT! I danced and sweated a lot too, so that is quite an accomplishment. I booked Vanity Belle for my wedding in November and all four stars are for the artist's work. They did a great job with the hair and make up for myself and my bridesmaids and a few additional family members. However, the owner, Jonathan, was insanely difficult to work with. The booking and scheduling process before the wedding was a nightmare. I very clearly stated what we needed done and there was miscommunication after miscommunication. The website he used to speak to me and make all transactions, honeybook, didn't work very well and he continuously used it to communicate with me. My first bridal trial was the first miscommunication, I made it clear that one of my bridesmaids is my hair stylist and that I only needed bridal make up and then hair and make up for my bridesmaids. But I show up for my make up trial and a hair stylist is there setting up. It didn't matter too much to me because the make up artist showed up shortly after but the hair stylist that showed up first thing on a Saturday morning for nothing didn't seem too pleased. I can't say whether I'd suggest them or not, because it worked out very well but the process was incredibly frustrating and no one needs that when planning a wedding. read more

Kaity does a thorough consultation, asks you about the history of your hair, studies the texture, assesses the situation, and then she tells you what she wants to do without overpromising on results. She is extremely attentive to detail, takes her time, and has the perfect touch when she handles your hair. She even gives you after-care instructions and follows-up with you. The one request I had was no orange cuz I want my sexy back! That same night I had a wedding to attend, and I got compliment after compliment on my renewed balayage. God bless Kaity! I wasn't sure if how I wanted my makeup but Sam and Diane had an idea from how I described it so Sam pulled a picture from online and Diane did a great job making sure the shadow was perfect for a day into night wedding. She also did a great job applying the lashes. She uses only the best makeup out there! Although I must say when I got into my car and took a closer look the foundation on my face did look really cakey and even left me with frown lines so I just had to wipe some off, I think I'll go with airbrush which is a $10 add on but worth it if you want to look great in pictures and in person on your wedding day. I cant believe its been 4 years since I last updated my review. I have been a loyal client of Victoria since she conceptualized this business. The salon is small, intimate and perfect. I don't like the buzz of large salons because they tend to feel like big money machines. This salon is feminine and chic. More importantly, when you walk in, you feel comfortable. I've had blow-outs, make up applications and my hair cut and colored. I am super picky about anyone who touches my hair, and kaity is a master. She makes my brown hair look flawless. Even more, the salon is eco friendly from their use of colors to the organic hair products. The icing, champagne popping in the background. I heard about the grand opening of Vanity Belle this weekend and took a chance. I do not take chances ever with my hair, and decided to be bold and go for a reddish/ copper reverse ombre for a fall makeover. Kaity took care of me, and I have never been treated like such a queen! First of all she offered me a glass of champagne, or a beer to get started. Um, yes please, made me wish I had my girlfriends with me. Champagne always makes for the cherry on top for a perfect girls night, c'mon ladies! Not only did Kaity get the color I have had in my mind perfect, talk about a 'bombre,' but she created my first experience at Vanity Belle so warm and welcoming. I booked here for some primping before my 20 year high school reunion. Using the website was easy, and I booked for a Southern Belle with Toni, and Le Bombshell with Laura. It is a little tricky to find, but the instructions are printed on the website and you can call...it's not rocket science. It's behind the Irvine Ranch Market, plenty of parking on the back side where you enter. The shop is super cute, very clean and nicely designed. I drove for 90 minutes in traffic to get to OC for my appt, so the glass of champagne they offered me was much appreciated! The shop was empty, there was a wedding booked that day so all the other stylists were on location for that. It was nice having the place to myself! My mom stopped in to visit while I got myself all done up, Laura and Toni were both very friendly and fun to talk with. My mom is going to book an appt herself for a new hairstyle! Thanks Vanity Belle, I looked great....I stepped out of the elevator when arriving my 20 year reunion, immediately saw a guy I went to school with (a gay guy, they have the best style and can appreciate personal grooming) and he gave me a hug and told me I was "absolutely flawless" MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! First off I would give them more than 5 stars but I can't click more on here. The service from beginning to end was perfect. Communication was constant from the first inquiry. I booked last minute but it didn't matter. They worked around my work schedule and got everything. I had 10 bridesmaids and each one raved about their makeup all day. Everyone's makeup stayed put all night long. I never even had to powder my nose. The artists were so sweet. I left thinking wow I plan on keeping in touch with them lol. I had Natalie, Kandice and Lauren. They were all right on time and no one felt rushed. They even helped keep me calm. The pictures I provided were exactly how I looked on my wedding day.
