It was so important to me that I booked my venue first and Kathy second immediately after, lol! I did my hair and makeup trial with Amy and Kathy back in May and loved how it turned out! They both listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly that at every step of the process to create a bridal look for me. My wedding was back in August so I am long overdue for this review! I wanted to start off by saying I give Kathy Huynh Artistry a 10/10! It was a smooth experience from booking, to the bridal trial, and ending with the wedding day! I am so happy with how my makeup and hair looked for my wedding day. I did my trial on a day I had an engagement shoot scheduled just to see how well my hair and makeup would last throughout the day. Amy was great at checking in with me at the end of the day to take notes of any possible changes I might have wanted or any concerns I had. This helped a lot when it came to finalizing the wedding day look. In the beginning, I had trouble with explaining what I wanted in terms of makeup looks and all I had was inspo pictures, but Kathy was able to create a makeup look that I was comfortable with. I expressed my concerns of having my professional makeup done as I still wanted to look like myself, but more enhanced and she did just that. Kathy and Amy had great communication throughout the entire HMU process to ensure you like how your hair and/or makeup looks which I truly appreciated. The team was wonderful to work with and the quality of their artistry in both hair and makeup of the team leads was amazing. Linda did my hair and she understood the romantic vibe I was going for. Michelle is an exceptional artist, she recommended skin care tips as my face is really dry in the winter seasons and really listened to what kind of look I wanted. Where to begin?! My wedding was in Irvine in November 2023. I'm from out of state (MD) so having to plan a wedding across the country wasn't easy, but one thing I did not have to worry about was the hair and makeup because Kathy and Amy's team made it a smooth process! Even with my millions of questions, Kathy/Amy were always so thorough with their responses which I really appreciated. I chose to work with Linda for my hair and makeup. I first had to do a trial so I scheduled it for a day in August when I was already planning to be in OC doing other wedding stuff. I met Linda at the KHA studio and Linda was super easy to work with. I showed her a few inspiration pictures from my Pinterest and she immediately knew the exact look I was going for. She also asked me for feedback to make sure I was comfortable with the look. I wanted a lighter pinkier color for my lip than what Linda originally chose, then she managed to pick the EXACT shade I was hoping for. Linda also gave me several recommendations for my skin, which I started basically right away so that my skin could be in the best shape possible for wedding day! Linda is truly a miracle worker. On wedding day, Linda came to meet me at my hotel at which I had booked the bridal lounge. Another artist, Rosie, did my mom's hair. My mom has super frizzy short hair but Rosie made it look so glam and fabulous. Linda did my mom's makeup and I swear she made her look 15 years younger! I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup if ever, but I was BEYOND happy with my bridal look. I received so many compliments on the day of and cannot thank Linda enough for making my bridal dreams come true. I'm also glad that I did the airbrush because my makeup DID NOT BUDGE period. I am a super heavy crier so if you're like me, you. need. the. airbrush. Linda gave me a touch up kit but honestly I didn't even use it (even after constant crying throughout my ceremony)! I wanted an airbrush style make up for my wedding. My sister is a make up artist who had my face done with airbrush on a wedding we attended back home. Had such a wonderful experience with Kathy, Amy and their team. I did my hair and makeup trial about 6 months prior at their studio in Orange. Both Kathy and Amy were super friendly, professional and asked me throughout the whole process my thoughts and preferences. At the end of the day, I took notes on things I may have wanted to switch up or improve. For the day of, my makeup and hair were PERFECTION. I had no complaints and all the things I wanted to update from the trial were done. Airbrush stayed all day long even with some drizzle! Kathy, Amy, and their team are the very best. I found Kathy via different influencers I was following on Instagram. My wedding planner reached out to Kathy and team and they already had a wedding scheduled the morning of my wedding but due to my wedding being later in the day, KHA were able to work with our schedule and fit us in. I had a LARGE group getting their make-up and hair done, including my bridal party, aunts, cousin, MOB, MOG, & friends. In total, we had almost 30 services. Not only did Kathy, Amy, and the team finish on time, they finished early, each and every one of my party sent nothing but praises to the KHA team. And the make-up and hair LASTED all day long - I cried a bazillion times and my make-up was perfect all the way to midnight. The touch-up kit was a lifesaver and had everything I needed. My hair & hair pieces (made by AMY @meily_embellishments) got so many compliments and I could not believe how many pins came out of my hair and it did not feel heavy at all. Naomi did my makeup and Lily did my hair. I absolutely love my wedding makeup. The airbrush didn't budge, which was great! I wanted a bold but semi natural look. But i kept asking Naomi to go darker and I don't regret it at all. Naomi isn't afraid of going full glam at all.
