Not my first time here but definitely it is my last time here. When I called to make appointment the girl who picked up the call recommended Stephanie. Her own nail cause her can't hand the tool on customer. While she was cutting the dead skin I did feel uncomfortable. After that just injured and feel pain. So disappointed. Hello, I just finished getting my toes and nails done. The place was beautiful, and while the service was good, the whole thing took nearly 5 hours. My nails look ok, but when you look at them from the side they look slightly lumpy. I really don't want to hear a comment suggesting that it could be my nail because it wasn't. The prices are crazy crazy crazy for the actual work. I can't complain in regard to that, because it is on their website. Another things was miscommunication between the nail techs. The one doing my toes completely did not do what I asked, but I guess its good they did not charge me for that on top of it. Probably will not come again. I would completely pay the $345.00 I ended up paying for an actual design but for cat Eye and French, I don't think that the price matches the job. read more

Well this is my second time reviewing the poor work by Vanity Projects. It seems like someone reported it to Yelp, sad to see when businesses do not like or want to see the truth about their employees doing a HORRIBLE job on their customers, and go and report it to Yelp to have it taken down. Today, I had a "pleasure" of meeting the owner of this place. Deranged, to say the least. I am glad that there were other patrons to witness her outrageously neurotic and disrespectful behavior and that they, just like me, will never return. I just wish that I remembered to pull out my phone and record her as words don't do much justice to describe today's encounter... screaming, shaking, threatening.... Let me start off by saying that this place is BOUJIE. It is in Miami design district so you already know what that means. It is located on the second floor just in case you are wondering where it is. Parking is streets parking ( very busy) or valet. I have been wanting to go here for years ! When I needed a pick me up I made an appointment with the weekly special the Halloween special. I really recommend the weekly special a design that was for 50 dollars. I LOVE my nails exactly what I wanted. Very professional place and very insta worthy. Everything is perfection. As soon as I got there I was asked what I would want to drink. This hardly happens in Miami. And the coffee was good. There was a small catch tho. My gel had to removed and I had done it in another place (IT was 20 dollars gel removal). That to me is a bit much. But it was a treat yourself moment. Lol. First time here! I came in for the weekly special $50. $5 extra for gel coat, $10 extra for base. Andrea was very meticulous and friendly. The staff was welcoming, upon entry you are free to wash your hands. Hand sanitizer available for use. There are 3 pedicure stations. The environment felt elevated, classy, and creative. Booking online requires a card but you are able to use another card upon check-out. Parking garage is in the same area as Vanity, $3 for up to 3-4 hours. Highly recommend if you want to spoil yourself. The prices are higher than usual but I can understand why the amount of detail they put into your nails is a lot of effort. read more

I went to Vanity Nails three times now. I'm a physician who has a hectic schedule and I understand that they have to maintain some sense of order over people who miss appointments. But the front desk worker is who really put the nail in this coffin. I missed four or five and was able to reschedule. On the day I had rescheduled I called Vanity Projects from my car to certify that I would be only be the determined 15 minutes late for my appointment. It was then that the desk worker, Ms. Bella, informed me that this would be ok (arrival at 5:25 pm as per my GPS). When I arrived at that time, I received a call from the same person saying she'd have to downgrade my appointment. I had rushed from the hospital to be there, made sure to say the time, and be punctual. The day prior, I had been told that the appointment was made for 5:15 pm by a different desk worker. When I told Ms. Bella this, she said that I was not telling the truth and that the person had not told me that. When I confronted her further, she told me it could not be true. What had in fact happened, was the worker from the day before had likely accidentally said the time of an appointment I'd had to cancel (at 5:15 pm). Calling me a liar, treating me with animosity when I arrived was simply so upsetting that I was visibly upset. Rather than come to some kind of an agreement, Ms. Bella told me I could take myself to the back without so much as a word to me. Many don't know I speak Spanish, I don't look like one who would, but I overheard some pretty unkind things said about me from Bella and I even caught her calling me a Kike (a slur for a Jewish person). I am willing not to pursue this issue so as not to ruin a young person's life and career, but I certainly wouldn't want it to happen to another Jewish woman. Again, I wish the workers well and the pedicurist was incredibly kind to me, so much so that I even started to cry. I've been working 36 hour shifts and it had been almost a year since I'd had my toes done. Clearly not something I meant to do, but because of the pandemic I just couldn't. Please don't go here, the ancillary staff is awful and prejudiced, apparently. I may even pursue legal action for whatever money went to the salon and not to the nail artists. read more

Absolutely loved my new nails. I got nail art and it was perfectly shaped with the Apres Nails form. I wanted a geode type design and she achieved it. It took about hour and a half and she did a fantastic job. They really get creative here. Also the place was in the design district in such a nice location great for relaxing and shopping afterward. I'm gushing with happiness, because I've officially found a nail salon that consistently provides amazing results. All of the nail technicians at Vanity Projects are extremely talented and well worth the amount of money they charge for their services. I've worked with both Lynette & Claudia and haven't been disappointed yet. The quality of service at Vanity Projects is high and the nails are very long-lasting. It's honestly hard to compare them to any other nail salon because they truly stand above the rest. I will note one thing... The manicures aren't your "typical" manicure where they dip your hands in water and put lotion on your hands. This doesn't mean that they're "skipping out" on any steps. They utilize different methods to remove your cuticles and then put on an oil to soften them at the end of your manicure - your hands still leave looking moisturized and lovely. I have a bad habit of not always reviewing places that are well known and liked, and I do need to change that. VP is one of those places. I've been going for a year and have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is amazing, the facility is clean (even pre covid), and the techs are truly artists. The weekly specials vary and are $50 (seriously that is a steal for nail art). Follow them on IG to see what it is each week. What's really leading me to review them now is how great they've been during COVID. It's one of the places I feel safest and one of the few places I go. Everything about this place is high end and amazing. From the special gel polish they use to the techniques to the front desk. I have come here twice and both times have been beyond great with nail tech Alice. I will never go to a regular salon again. It's a little pricey but worth every penny as I only need to come once a month rather than get my nails done every two weeks. The friendly front desk always calls and emails to confirm my appt the day before which I love. Always offer me something to drink etc. I've heard about this salon from my neighbor and have been curious to see what the big deal was. Well now I know! For a ritzy Design District location, the feel is very downscale. It's a little grubby, but with usurious prices ($90 for nails - no designs or special features!) . Note that if you've gotten your nails done elsewhere, it costs an extra $10 to get the gel removed, as compared to if you had your previous appointment at Vanity Projects. I guess it's a clever customer retention technique, but a rather nasty surprise for new customers. My girlfriend, whom I accompanied on her visit, won't be coming back. read more

It is very rare for me to write a negative YELP review, but I felt like this had to be put out there. I have been going to Vanity Projects for a little over a year now. I started going when the Pandemic hit. It was a nice way to treat myself, relax and get away from the day-to-day craziness. I am a regular client of VP. I have been coming roughly every couple weeks - sometimes at least once month. I have made friends there with the nail artists specifically Andrea, Alice and Illiana. These girls do beautiful work. However, I am writing this because I am just appalled with the level of bullying and unprofessionalism, I have received from the two girls at the front desk. One specifically being Ada Cruz, who I just learned is the manager at the Miami Salon. Bullying to the point where I was in tears at my job today after speaking with her on the phone. Where it starts: At the beginning of the week, I had an appointment with Illiana and I had scheduled my appointment for Nail Art which is usually $100. I went in with the expectations to have the art done but as we were doing the consultation, she advised that I do something different from what I had chosen because the design that I chose wouldn't look good on my nails. After giving me her opinion, I changed my mind and decided not to do the Nail Art and do a simpler "cat eye" design. I'm not a picky person. It's funny because as I was talking to Illiana, she mentioned to me that I was one of her "nicer" clients. She agreed that I was very understanding to which I usually am if something cannot be done. As I finished my nail appointment, I went to checkout (pay) and I received a lecture from the two girls at the front desk that I was not allowed to make appointments for Nail Art if I was not going to get it. Again, I'm only human. I went in with the intentions of getting Nail Art, but I changed my mind because of the artist's recommendation. They also told me that If I didn't warn them next time that I changed my mind, they would charge me the full amount anyways.  I understand time is money but I really didn't want to do a service that I was not going to be happy with and I tried explaining that to them, but they proceeded with attitude. In the heat of the moment, I was a bit upset and I didn't tip the nail artist. It's a bummer when you have a nice time and as your leaving two girls are lecturing you because you changed your mind and decided to do a different service which they still made $80 off of. I didn't feel that was my responsibility to inform them. Two days later I received an email from Ada regarding the tip and she asked that it was customary to leave at least 18% and that if I continued to not leave tip, that they would no longer be able to service me. I always tip the girls. I called her to explain my reasoning behind not leaving the tip and she got so flustered and upset that she asked me to permanently not return to the salon. After the phone call, it's like she had the button ready to completely remove me from future appointments and I was blocked from making appointments. It's unfortunate for the nail artists who work hard at building up their cliental while the people at the front desk seem to continue to turn people away. After the conversation, I read on YELP other reviews people have been leaving about Ada and the front desk and I seem to not be alone. I have seen the salon at different stages, and it went from being packed all the time with bookings and the last visit I went to I saw empty chairs. The girls at the front desk could've handled this in a more professional manner but they came at me with the intent to attack!! The services are very expensive... More expensive than any other salon I've gone to and the management should be more professional handling clients if they want to fill those empty chairs again. read more

The new crown to nail salons in Miami goes to VP!! The weekly special is my jam, and I can't stop telling all of my girlfriends about this spot. They do not do wet manicures which have really been helping my nails keep their shape and my cuticles from peeling so much. I love the designs and happy to have found a spot that is not going to give me dirty looks for requesting nail art.. but in fact a spot that helps me decide and pick what to do! This review is solely for the front desk, Ada to be exact. It's been about a year that I've been going to VP. I've tried almost all the techs. Claudia & Gina (my favs), Lynette is great too and I've seen Rose as well. All did great. Claudia absolutely is BOSS when it comes to designs and time management. Each appointment, $85-$120, plus tip for a gel manicure & simple art. Let's get into the child arguing on the phone now. I missed one appointment. I thought my scheduled time was in the afternoon and it turns out it was in the morning, human error. Here's the ridiculous thing.. they want to charge me a $90 cancellation fee. They did not have my CC on file to charge me so I was told they would WAIVE the fee this time. Much appreciated I responded to whomever on the phone at the time. Listen, I get it. Time is worth money and if an appointment is missed, the tech is just sitting there doing nothing. Carry on, I go to reschedule... I'm told I can't until they charge me the $90 cancellation fee on top of my $85-$120 regular appointment. I say, hold on.. why are you wanting to charge me $90 after I was told it would be waived? As opposed to speaking to the owner or whoever I spoke to originally, Ada continued to raise her voice while huffing and puffing to say, "as I said, in order for you to see Claudia again, you need to pay $90 for your cancellation fee". I woosa here and hang up. All the money people, including myself, spend in Vanity Projects and this is the treatment we receive? It's not appreciated and extremely RUDE to speak to anyone in such form. VP is in a good location and crazy pricey. While my usual girl was busy i saw the nail salon on instagram and i must say this salon nail art game is on point I scheduled a appointment w/ yessenia.. Mind you im very use to having my gel manicure lasting a very long time as well streching the time to about 3 weeks also i do not have brittle nails from having gel manicures The manicurist drilled my gel polish off. I did notice as well her "technique" to file my nails was very strange she filed the sides of my nails with a rough file to achive the shape i requested. again i didnt think of mentioning anything since i felt this was a professional place plus the cost was close to what im used to paying for very good gel manicure After a week of wear within that week the sides of my nail kept having hangnails it was bothersome to always constantly feel it every single time also one of my nail broke within a week Im not sure what type of technique they use but my regular nail tech mentioned to me that my natural nail felt fragile and weak. This was my first time going to Vanity Projects and most likely my last time. Let me preface my review by saying that the poor rating does not reflect that of the staff nor of my nail technician. Everyone at the salon was so nice and attentive. My nail technician was beyond talented! She's a true artist and spent 2+ hours on my manicure. I've gotten my nails done at numerous salons in Miami and New York City and never have I paid $155 for an Acrylic Set gel manicure with nail art! It was honestly my fault for not checking the prices before booking my appointment. It appears that they have to charge these prices due to the outrageous rent that they must pay for being located in the design district Needless to say, I'm not at a place in my life to pay almost $200 on a manicure. I love this new nail salon! Brand new and located in Little River, their Nail Artists have serious skills. It was my first time trying nail art, and since I didn't know what I wanted I tried their weekly gel special which was only $40. You can get any design you want, but the fancier it is the pricier. The girl next to me was getting her digits bedazzled with some serious bling, and it was beautiful. A neat thing about this nail salon is the artistic videos played on a projector. Pretty interesting stuff and gives you something to watch while you're getting Swarovski crystals adhered to your party nail. Like so many other reviews that I am reading for Vanity Projects Miami they are all absolutely on target regarding the talented nail technicians but the extremely unfriendly, unwelcoming, and rude so called front desk "welcoming" staff... And again the prices they charge which change every minute are astronomical and 3x the price of the best salons out there!!! That being said why are they not absolutely accommodating and friendly and know your name when you walk in there??! My latest incident happened when they called me the day before an appointment I had made a month in advance because a very freak thing happened to Chiara and had to cancel her appointments. However do you think after being a regular and waiting a month for every appointment and paying $340 for my nails that they would call me back to reschedule that appointment??! Nope!!! So all these months later after not hearing from them at all I call to see when their next available is... 5 weeks for Chiara & 3 weeks for a new technician!!! So there is a way to go about making customers feel better if you apologize because you are very short staffed and in the process of looking for high-end artistic nail techs which we Understand is difficult to find... But no...never any type of explanation or reasoning or consolation. How do you run a business like this here or in New York -which I used to go before corona hit... it's flabbergasting and inexcusable to run such a high end specialty business with these kinds of issues... when you are paying a premium you expect top notch nail techs and top-notch accommodating service and all I hear from reviews and people who walk out of there is frustration and disgust and dissatisfaction... Got a sick gel extension manicure with Claudia. No frills. No BS. Did an awesome job on my ombré gel manicure. My nails look beautiful for wedding season. She gets 5 stars. What doesn't is waiting almost a solid 45 minutes for my pedicure technician, Yessenia. 10-15 minutes and an artist is behind schedule, I'm cool--but effing 45 minutes of my life? It was terrible. And no care from front desk or anything to dull the blow of having to wait this long. I left with no pedicure. I have a flight to catch in the morning and your lack of schedule management is not my problem. Will be back for some and not others. read more

Let me start out by saying they have some very talented nail techs. And that's where the compliments end. I was going there for a few months and despite the ridiculously high prices, everything was fine- until I wanted to change nail techs. The technician I was seeing asked me why I booked an appointment with someone else, making me extremely uncomfortable. It is my decision who I want to see and I simply wanted to try out another artist who seemed a lot nicer than the woman I was currently going to. Well I had to tell her it was a mistake because I was embarrassed and had to change my appointment to continue seeing her. From that point on, all my appointments were rushed and I could tell she didn't like me. The front staff are all stuck up and rude and honestly, because I'm not a millionaire, I felt very uncomfortable in this environment. Andrea did an amazing job. She was very attentive and thorough, even accommodated when I needed to step out for a meeting.

I had a prior first appointment they let me know an hour before, had to be cancelled. They rescheduled me for the evening days later and I had a random manicurist who was having an extremely bad day. She continued to check, text, and answer her phone while doing my nails from her sister "Bubbles" (I couldn't even make this up, lol) and she began to cut me off when I was trying to answer the questions she was asking. I then asked her point blank why she was being so rude to me and she began cursing at me, screaming, cursing more, and throwing my nail stickers at me. The flustered front desk girl had zero communication skills to handle it. When I asked her why she is raising her voice, screaming, cursing, I was told that's how "they" speak there. So ghetto. The thought that this woman is a mother with such an explosive temper is alarming. At this point I walked out and am happily on my way to a different salon for a last minute appointment (I left with an unfinished manicure) after a traumatic, unexpected experience. The manicurist mentioned once I sat down that money one day will be falling from the sky onto her and I had to try not to laugh. I'll continue to do all my shopping and lunching in the Design District but will stick to other talented nail artists in Miami for my nails and steer clear from that place. Horrific experience. I am not too happy with my gel manicure. They do not do a full manicure. They do not soak your hands in water and cut your cuticles. They cut the cuticles while they are dry and it is quite painful. My fingers do not look like I got a manicure, only that I painted globs of paint on my nails. I had a new woman and I do not feel that it was worth $40. I think this place is only good for nail art and you should get a manicure somewhere else read more
