    Meatball & Onion pizza

My first time trying Vans via Doordash was November 7th. When I originally reviewed Vans our food came cold. Vans reached out to Doordash not wanting their food quality to be in question to find out what happened. As they should advocate for what is right. Doordash told me they waited for my food. But Vans found out that several drivers with Doordash where assigned to my order before someone came to pick it up. This was the reason my food originally arrived cold. My food arriving cold was No Fault of Vans. My order was soft baked pretzel sticks with a dipping sauce and two pizzas that were personal size possibly a little bigger. Both pizza's were traditional crusts - one meatball and onion. One a Bianca pizza. My favorite part of the meal was those pretzel sticks. Good size more towards big, just enough salt, nice and soft on the inside. My husband is a lifelong New Haven pizza eater and he did like the thin crusts on these pizzas. However, we are going to try again at the restaurant with the pizza. As You see in so many of my reviews over the years. I always give a restaurant a second try at their establishment as takeout is a hard thing to get spot on. **Give Vans a try at their restaurant and play some video games. I will be doing the same soon.

We LOVE Vans!! We go for dinner and games often but also had our sons 5th birthday there. It was a HIT! The staff was incredible and very helpful in putting together a last minute party. The party room was included and the costs I paid were for a staff member to take care of the party, food and game cards for the kids. The seating options vary (bar, booth, tall table, regular table) and all are comfortable and food has always been great- pizza, wings, burger, pasta.. we haven't had a thing we don't like.

Food is so good. Best pizza ever. Staff really care. Service is so good. And the ambience is awesome with two arcades.

It's well proofed, the perfect balance of chewy and tender, gently salted and seasoned to allow toppings to shine. The thin Neopolitan / Neapolitan style crust is best eaten fresh out of the oven, not by delivery or take-away. After many years of eating at Stanziato's, though, we have some additional observations: As at just about every other restaurant, service is variable. The wait staff tends to be beautiful and young, capable about 80% of the time and less so about 20% of the time. The front of the house was extremely disorganized on a recent visit and although it was not busy, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. (We noticed others waiting a long time by the door without acknowledgment, waiting to put in or pick up an order.) Our first hostess greeted us curtly, and then completely disappeared, leaving a colleague to pick up the pieces 10 minutes later. Salads are well designed, but not always well executed. On several recent visits, our salads were slightly gritty with sand or soil. (A supplier issue?) Lardons in a Harvest Salad were cut into overly large pieces, fried too far in advance, and ate like salty rubber erasers. When it's not gritty, the beet salad is still a winner. Pizzas are sometimes served unpleasantly and excessively charred -- not just spots that might be expected on a Neopolitan / Neapolitan style pizza, but whole sections of crust. When 13" diameter pizzas run north of $20, I'd hope for better quality control. There is huge variation in decor from room to room, a legacy of the real estate takeover of the Latin bar next door, perhaps. The original rooms run pubby; newer rooms run clubby. The parking lot is as tight as ever!

Our waitress was amazing and gave us a rundown of their menu and how they prepare food since it was our first visit. It's obvious the employees are proud of what they deliver to the table which is a huge plus for an establishment. We started with two appetizers which were the mozzarella sticks and "broccoli wings." We are absolute suckers for cauliflower wings so when we saw broccoli wings that alone was truthfully a selling point. They did not disappoint at all. They were perfectly cooked, crispy outside, and soft interior providing a nice crispy crunch with a load of flavor. We decided because we wanted to try a couple of the appetizers we'd split a pizza. We went with the veggie pizza and our toddler had his own because he loves olives and wanted some and my wife doesn't and didn't. So I decided to get red sauce on his and garlic olive oil on ours so I could try both. The red sauce was more of a traditional pizza taste you'd expect and the olive oil and garlic (white) was a little lighter on the taste buds in my opinion so the rest of the veggies popped even more. Overall it was some of the best "real" pizza I've had in a while. It's not super dense and overly filling, the veggie was very light as far as a pizza goes. The veggies tasted properly cooked and seasoned so they gave a really nice topping to the fresh crust and other toppings. The crust was amazing and super fluffy. It had a nice crunch but a super soft and airy inside. Overall we were extremely pleased with the dinner, atmosphere, and service. When we are back in the area it will be a must visit.

This place hasn't been reviewed for a while so I felt I definitely needed to review it even though…read moreI only get delivery from them. Whatever issues might happen inside of the restaurant, I'm not aware of that. What I can talk about is the delivery and the food. I have bought delivery from here twice now and each time had a great experience, dealing with two different drivers. I LOVE the fact that they deliver. Being a Westchester transplant, it was a hardcore smack in the face when I called a bazillion places and no one, even within a two mile radius, would deliver! Like what is that?!? So when I found this place and they said yes, I was ecstatic. I thought maybe that alone influenced my like for the food but the second time around it was still just as good! We've had wings, jalapeno poppers, caesar salad, pesto pizza, pizza with sausage/pepper/onion and another specialty one that I can't remember. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the caesar salad. The pizza is quite yummy, not oversauced, and just the right amount of ingredients. The peppers and onions are cut super thin which is great and they put a lot on still. I really enjoyed the food. The drivers were great too. The first one had a very hard time finding us but continued to try and call until he got here. The second one was quick and knew exactly where we were. No bad review from me.
