Second appetizer was the Homemade garlic bread dippers - chunks of garlic bread with a Gorgonzola fondue for dipping. I had the same comment on the garlic bread, but the girls loved the dish. Entrees were Homemade Pappardelle Bolognese - a trio of beef, pork and veal in a house-made tomato sauce with a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan; Eggplant - Breaded and fried medallions topped with tomato confit and barrata cheese, served over linguine; and Scallops - Pan-seared and served with a saffron English pea risotto, a touch of creamy lobster sauce and roasted vegetables. Bolognese sauce was robust and flavorful, not overly seasoned; both pastas were cooked al dente, as they should be. The eggplant was sweet, lightly breaded and tender, with perfectly complimented tomato confit and barrata cheese. My scallops were absolutely fresh and so perfectly cooked, they were still light and sweet - delicious. The risotto was also light and not overly pea-flavored. My glass of Muga Rioja was a robust accompaniment. The service was timely and courteous from start to finish. We have eaten inside previously and like the comfortable atmosphere. Outside on the sidewalk isn't the same atmosphere, but it's what we wanted for the night. There are heaters to take the edge of the cold; the noise from traffic isn't bad, and the town green right across the street helps with the view. If you have the chance to try ZaZa's on Main, I strongly recommend it.
