Tonight we went for drinks and wings for a friends' birthday. We brought in a cake and we were told we would be charged $2.50/ person if we were to serve it. We had close to 20 people there- it would have cost us twice the price than what the actual cake cost! I asked the working manager if he could waive the fee since we all had ordered drinks and some people at the table had ordered some entrees. He told me he was not at liberty to make that decision. He said that the owners' reasoning was that if cake was brought in no one would order dessert off the menu. Who orders individual desserts for a birthday celebration??? Long story short, we did not sing happy birthday, and the birthday girl took her cake home uneaten to celebrate with her own family. I will never go to this place again, especially for a birthday celebration. If they want people to come back or recommend their place, they should be more accommodating. I have never heard of this ridiculous policy at any other restaurant. I have passed this place so many times and did not realize it was there. I've heard a few people talking about it recently. We wanted to check it out. Plenty of parking with entrances in the front and back. Lots of seating in multiple areas, including a nice bar area. Multiple tvs available for sporting events. Very clean inside with a friendly staff. Mollie was our waitress. Very attentive and frequently checked on us. There is happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-6. Weekly events including karaoke and trivia night. Check their website for details. The food is great. We tried a few apps. The wings were very good. We got sweet chili and garlic parmesan. Both had lots of great flavor. Pretzel bites were good, but the jalapeño cheddar sauce was ridiculously awesome. I would describe it as liquid happiness. We used the leftover on the fries. This review would have been a four star. However, the Rodeo Burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. First of all, it's huge! We were here for Super Bowl Sunday. I wouldnt Recommend coming here for something like this we sat in the booths at the bar directly in front of us was several tv's and we still could not hear anything that was going on. They need to up the sound or add speakers around the bar area if they are going to do sports events such as this. You want to hear and feel the energy of the game not everyone else's conversations. Regarding the food. At our table we had mixed reviews about the wings. Some of us thought they were good and juicy but a bit too much sauce. And then some others thought they were too dry and too much sauce. I guess On the wings depends on your taste buds but at the end we all agreed too much sauce. The food here is over priced and low quality. Stopped in on a random Monday night with the family. No one seemed interested in greeting us even though the place was empty. The servers all seemed to be more interested in socializing with one another. Our waitress seemed put off that she had to break away from the party to work. As soon as we sat down she asked if we knew what we'd like to eat. I said, we'd need a minute you just gave us the menu. Then waited 15 mins for her to come back around for drink orders. The bartender was at least quick in turning the drinks out. We made our order, mostly burgers but, my wife ordered the soup of the day which was split pea soup according to the waitress. 20 mins later when the burgers and soup showed up the soup was chicken and rice. We mentioned that we ordered the split pea soup and the waitress said "oh, I was wrong the soup of the day is chicken and rice". Who just brings a totally different item like they didn't make a mistake? Maybe because it was slow no one wanted to work. They all seemed to be having too much fun all chatting and doing shots at the bar. Waitress never came back to check on us or refill drinks. Burgers are frozen burgers with a few fries in a little basket for $15. This place is a rip off. If you're looking for good food you'd be better off going to Firefly right up the road. The one person that was working was a young slim woman with long wavy dark hair. She was cleaning tables restocking condiments never stopped moving the whole time we were there. Make her a server she's your hardest worker. Micheal thanks for reaching back out. I'd suggest reviewing your security footage from Feb 10th roughly 6pm. I can't verify that there was alcohol in whatever they were doing shots/drinking of. So, I'll concede that maybe it was non-alcoholic, but you should be able to see your wait staff in the corner of the bar all chatting with a guy reading a book, who looked as if he might have been employed there as well but that's unclear. The table two tables away was also frustrated with the service as we joked about it. Usually I love this place. However, tonight was something else. We went for the #drinksonus promotion and previously we got any beer/mixed drink for free with this promotion within CT. So I decided to take my family out for my moms birthday. We sat in traffic for like 15 min coming up Stony Hill. We got in and got a table and the other half of our party met us there. We ordered and had our vaccination cards on the table. The other half of our party comes and orders and we get our drinks and food. Three of our meals were missing sides and one had the wrong side but we made do with it. Food was okay tonight. It comes time for the check and we ask about the #drinksonus promo and it apparently only now applies to "bottled or well drinks". I ask what well drinks are covered and I get a condescending response straight from mixology 101 explaining why my cocktail from the cocktail menu wasn't included in this promo. I'm sorry, if you were focused on hospitality and really serving your customers you'd see we have the vaccine cards on the table at the beginning and ask if we are part-taking in the promotion and you'd tell us today's apparent guidelines your following for this promotion since it appears to change based on who the server is. It was overpriced tonight, we didn't get exactly what we want but we know this local business can do better. Took over an hour to take our order, and wait-staff seemed unprepared/confused. As meals began to appear, it was ie "Who has a Cobb salad"? For EACH PLATE (hamburgers, soup, tacos, ect.). Talking noise, yelling noise for each plate, having to ask for refills (no one came by to check), except for one young lady. That's enough.
