Came in about 10:55 to buy a pair of shoes for my niece. 2 guys working were too busy to greet me as they were talking. Then he asked me if I wanted help asked about a size then he told me, walked away, had to approach him to get shoes got em the. He disappeared. Finally asked other guy if he could help me and his reply was "wats up?". Apparently something wrong with thier registers, so I waited patiently for 15 minutes. Finally thier issue was resolved so I asked for a discount for my inconvenience. Was not offered a "sorry for the wait" nothing-- and poor customer service and denied me of any discount -- I felt compelled to write this review. We came in to get a pair of all black classic vans for my boyfriend around 4pm, we were the only customers in the store. No employee came to help so I grabbed the shoe on display as I was walking towards the register to ask for the size, I realized that the display shoe was the size my boyfriend needed. So I turned back around and walked towards the bench he was sitting at. It was then that an employee (Hannah S) came over, this is exactly how the conversation went... I went in looking shoes for the gym that are Velcro. When I went in it was busy because of Black Friday deals. As I was browsing Kennedy asked if I was doing okay and needed a size she can get it for me and showed me their Velcro shoes and what size I'd be if I were to do a kids shoe as well. She was able to kill it as she was helping families with kid shoes and get the size I needed for a certain shoe. Visited this location with several friends, none of us were greeted. We all felt as if we were being a bother in the store. Friend needed help with a shoe, crickets. I highly suggest Vans make some changes at this location, as it's in dire need if they want to stay in business. I'll be heading anywhere else for shoes. read more

Its a pretty small Vans store but the service here is a lot more better than most. If you were to go to the one at the outlets, they normally dont say hi or their off running around clueless into how to handle multiple tasks lol. Overall, I like the cleanliness and customer service here. read more

Had a small mishap with an online order return that was mistakenly refunded to me as a merchandise credit rather than refund to my credit card. I called the store manager to see if they could fix the return and she took care of it no problem with a smile on her face! Made a potentially stressful situation easy :) thanks! I would give this store zero stars if I could. I came into the store spending over $175.00 approximately two weeks ago. I was told by the associate (male) that for each $75 purchase, I would receive $25 in "Bonus Bucks- a free $25 on my next purchase!" (verbatim). Upon receiving the "bonus bucks" (the only reason I came into the overpriced store to shop, I waited until the dates that they could be used, only to discover on the back that the $25 has a $65 minimum purchase for EACH CARD. Contacted the store about the associate's misinformation given to me, only to be told by an associate who identified himself as "Sam" that you must spend $65 for each $25 card to be valid. Explained the misinformation given to me as a customer, only to completely dismiss me and say, and I quote" "oh well, I'll tell the associates now tell people about that." Horrible customer service. Sam was not polite, understanding, nor helpful, and should be given lessons on basic customer service, which he obviously does not have. Ugh!! I visited this store two weeks ago to get a pair of shoes for my husband and matching ones for my son. I spent about 15 minutes in the store looking around and was never acknowledged. I finally grabbed a shoe from the KIDS section and asked an employee what was the smallest size they carried in that shoe. He responded with a men's 8 . Then grabbed a women's shoe and tried to sell me that. I politely told him I wasn't shopping for myself, but for my husband and son. Before I could finish my last word he gawked at the fact that we had the same stroller. Then proceeded to tell me that now he has some big clunky stroller that he hates, and that he has more kids, but he doesn't want anymore because it's all such a hassle, then did some weird hip movement and told me how he was going to be a hipster by rolling up the bottom of his pants, and then proceeded to do so. I stood there the whole time in silence. When he was finally done with his show I handed him the KIDS shoe back, said thank you, and walked down to Zumiez where I received great customer service. Fast fwd to today I still needed to get my son some shoes so i headed back to Van's and hoped that the last time was a fluke, and their customer service wasn't that bad. I walked in wasn't greeted. Went to the toddler section which is in extremely close proximity to the register and began to look at the shoes. There was a gentleman at the register filing paper work in a binder, and a manager right behind me telling an associate how she couldn't go home. I waited and waited. Trying to entertain a 2 year old so any of the 3 employees could finish what they were doing and help me. The gentleman at the register walked right past me to the back, didn't acknowledge me, then came back and walked right past me and still didn't acknowledge me. He then proceeded to cut paper at the register and punch holes. The manager continued to talk to the associate telling her what she wanted her to do. Now remember I'm with a 2 year old so we weren't exactly quiet. There's no way they could have not seen nor heard us. Finally I turned to my son and told him that we were going to Journeys to buy him shoes. Magically at that moment the manager turned around and asked if we needed help. Yeah a little too late for that. So we left and bought my son shoes at journeys. First off I have to commend Austin the assistant manager he was amazing helping me exchange some shoes I bought in November for my son for Christmas. The sole came off literally a month after I bought them. January I was so busy with work and corporate visitors I didn't have time to bring them in. Finally in February I had some free time and he was amazing super friendly and took care of me no questions asked! Austin gets five stars from me. I gave four stars because there seemed to be an consistent issue with that particular shoe. If there is an ongoing issue they should be pulled from the shelf! But thank Austin for being amazing and helping out this single mom!!!! read more

How do I put this without making me sound like an old man? Let's just say I have been wearing Vans for a long time. I've been to a lot of different stores and worn a lot of different styles. There are 3 stores in the area and each one has something that separates it from the rest. The store at the outlet has the best deals, the store at the North County Fair Mall in Escondido has the best selection and this store has the best customer service. The nice thing about this location is that it still has that mom and pop vibe to it. Mandy and Crash (may or may not be his real name) I'm assuming must be the managers because it seems like they are there every time my family and I visit the store. My son actually had a pair of shoes that fell apart very quickly. Crash switched them out for a new pair and we even ended up buying some new cool new T-shirts while we were there. In the end a fun place to shop and the only store left worth visiting in a dying mall. Hopefully when the mall remodel is completed this store is able to expand because the current location is relatively small. read more

I asked for a size and a specific shoe and the girl with blonde reddish hair says they dont have my size so then I looked at the display and it's the size I wanted . I asked her about it and she says oh the girl probably didn't see it there are 3 boxes back there . I have interacted with the manager a couple times. Always professional and tries his best to make things happen.

Horrible! Just plain Horrible! They need to do better training on customer service, starting with better managers.
