I do not recommend this business at all! If I could rate this place a negative number I would. To start, with the front desk staff, they are like robots, show no emotion. Lack of empathy. Smiles are free, if they are not happy where they work then please work elsewhere out of the service industry. The check in kiosks. Most of patients are elderly do think they can see well to have to use those. The staff does not offer assistance to help them either. Next when they call your name out they walk you, through the hall where the staff is standing around on both side against wall. Just chit chatting gossiping I imagine about the patients that are walking by who knows. Then they take you in the office where most of the time the person is very unfriendly off standing. The doctors see you quickly give you the feeling of ok move a long, next. Not professional on either parts. The front office personnel should be trained or retrained or fired if they do not improve. This company is strictly about the money. They charge us upfront for everything and do not bill the insurance correctly, so the only person affected is the patient, not the insurance company or Vantage eye. When you ask questions they look at you like why are you asking questions. Well I did pay for a service they should answer my questions. I went in to get eye glasses from their eye center. I was quoted a price and paid half in advance. When I received an invoice I went to print it for my records and found they had increased my bill by $200. I have never been quoted a price and then have it increased with no explanation. Needless to say, I will never go back to get glasses from them again. read more

Dr Reza Iranmanesh is amazing! He holds the gold standard for excellence. He has been treating me for a number of years. His expertise and skills have given me hope for my macular degeneration. He's thorough, has amazing patience, keeping me informed through the current and future treatment plan. His sense of humor helps ease my stress. Dr Iranmanesh is wonderful. Honestly, my main concern when I bring my parents here is the check-in system. I consistently see elderly patients struggling to check in on their own. There are several staff members present, yet none are assigned to assist with check-in. Additionally, when patients ask for help, the staff at the desk often come across as short and unwelcoming. This process needs improvement--assigning someone specifically to assist elderly patients would make a big difference. Do better. read more

Came in with a eye glass emergency. My glasses were stepped on and the lenses were badly scratched. I explained that I was leaving the country and needed to get replaced lenses before leaving in three weeks. No can't help before getting an eye exam. The next available appointment was in three days and they could not get the lenses before my departure day. I've been a good patient for 25 years. Extremely unhelpful and no empathy for my emergency. I heard Vantage had gone down hill after being bought out. Guess they don't need my business anymore. read more

Vintage Eye Center used to be wonderful until it was bought out by a private equity firm where the most important thing was profit! Now they have these stupid kiosks to check in as the three girls behind the desk just sit and twiddle their thumbs with nothing to do. The office is consistently late getting you into your appointment. You cannot call in advance to find out if they're running late and even if they're running an hour late if you get in 10 minutes past your appointment time, your appointment is canceled and rescheduled.. So after my review someone called Ashley Jenny called me to say they would refund my eyeglasses which were an incorrect prescription ( eye doctor said it was - please read my 1st review below). That was 4/29/24. It is now 6/15. No refund has been issued. Called last week and left a message for Ashley Jenny - now CRICKETS! Proving my review is accurate. Vantage Eye does not care about patients. Bottom line = profits. It's too bad but health care in Salinas is at best abysmal. Now it's time to make a formal medical complaint with the medical licensing board on Page and Chen. And to think all of this could be avoided by simply refunding the faulty eyewear. My elderly mother was treated so poorly by Dr Page. She is literally the sweetest person and he spent 5 mins being rude and short with her. I just don't understand why he felt the need to act that way. I work in healthcare and I know sometimes doctors have bad days just like we all do. But he could have chosen to be kind for the 5 minutes he was in room . This is a week later, and I just got off the phone with her. She's 90 years old, and she's still hurt by his treatment. As a person who has experienced several problems with my eyes, I have visited tons of eye centers and doctors around my area. None of them stood out to me until I was recommended to go to Vantage Eye Center. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful! It was almost a full room when we got there. It was almost full when we left. Ended up waiting 30 minutes after the appt before being called up. The young woman at the front was not helpful. When I got there she did not greet or instruct me to sign in on the clipboard (their 3 kiosk stations were not working). I noticed she greeted other customers but not me. Also she could or would not give an update on when our name would be called up, we came early and I saw others who checked in after us being called. Either they're heavily and routinely behind schedule or their check in service is random. When I actually got into the appt, the nurse and the nurse in training were better. They went through the paperwork and testing clearly and asked questions to clarify and understand; which I appreciated. I would not suggest this location however I understand vantage doesn't offer its government services at the other locations so it's the only option. I would suggest getting a time right at opening to avoid the wait time. read more

Front desk Check In is disorganized and staff not properly trained to process and help patients. At Kiosk was charged 0.38 cents on my card. Completed registration. Was called in and wedged in between two other people at counter then charged my copay? Why two charges when it made sense to do one? As eye exam was being performed there was a change of personnel last one eating chips as i was performing my eye testing? Checked out at front desk, I realized my car keys may have been left at testing area and everyone looked at me like I lost my mind. Looked everywhere and I said I walked in with my keys. I was told if someone found them they had my number? Ok, got on Uber home I got back on hour later to pick up my vehicle, I asked the same receptionist if someone had turned in my keys, she gave me the same look and another receptionist told me someone had pointed that keys were left on counter? Yes, this sounds like a bad day rant but it was my experience. Just be aware of the level of service you're getting. On the doctor's side very professional and knowledgable. read more

The lady at the front desk was very rude when I simply inquired about my copay. It was billed through medical insurance instead of my vision insurance. She could care two cents about my question and took "she is right approach". While she could very well have been right, she did not take the time to provide good service and her rude approach could have been done without. There were other issues as well. The doctor my daughter was supposed to see was not the one she was scheduled to see. So in the end a lot of time was wasted and the needs were not met. read more

Doctors are good. One good staff member in optical. The rest have zero customer service skills. Very rude when you call for assistance and when I went in, there were 3 staff members at the desk, they all looked straight at me and didn't ask if they could help or assist in any way. Someone came out from behind the back office and finally asked if I had been helped. I don't even think my prescription is correct and not sure how to even tell. Customer service is gone. No one answers the phone. You have to do everything through a kiosk. Staff won't help this that are struggling, They wouldn't help me get it off of Spanish. There was this older gentleman trying to sign in and he was struggling and asking for help, the kept telling her m to push the button, but not telling him which one to push. He asked if he needed to find another Dr and the girl just shrugged her shoulders like go ahead. I paid what I thought was my bill on my visit. I received 3 more bills for 10.00 each. I went to pay the first one and was told I didn't owe anything. Then I received a letter stating I owed the 10.00 and was late etc. i mailed the 10.00 check in. And went through the same thing 2 more times. Ridiculous way to run a business. read more

Dr. Kim was great and explained things really clearly. The office staff, however, needs a lot of improvement. When checking in there were 4 receptionists but told me I had to check in using their kiosk. Mind you, there was no one in front of me--they could have easily checked me in in-person. The kiosk makes you enter a credit card to pay for the visit. A week after that visit, I received a bill for the visit even though I'd already paid. I had to carve out time in my work day to call billing and provide proof I had paid when checking in. The assistants that take you to the exam room could also use some training on bedside manner. It's ironic since I think it's a training facility. There were literally 30 assistants (maybe in training?) standing around talking. I'd go back just to see Dr.Kim but the office staff gives me pause. read more

My wife was seen by Dr. page who was condescending and rude to be blunt. He spoke to her like a child and told her to make lifestyle changes such as drink more water. My wife is 120 lbs and drinks over 3/4 of a gallon of water a day. She walks 5 miles a day. The guy is a joke and obviously not happy with his own life. Stay away from this place. read more

HORRIBLE experience, I ordered progressive lenses for my new glasses, the order came in to be only for reading , I told her no the doctor and I discussed progressive, she blamed me for not telling her and I asked her to order the right lenses, When they came in again they were wrong it was my fault for not knowing there were different levels of progressive lenses and so they ordered the lowest cost which was ridiculous you had to move your head to do anything That would cost me an additional 195.00, I was so disappointed and ask forget it just go back and make them reading glasses. I will NEVER go back and PROMISE never to refer anyone there. The ONLY person there that explained things to me was Daisy and was professional and I felt she cared. This center has been treating me for partial vision loss and also glaucoma. My main Care physician is a retina specialist and is excellent. Knowledgeable and professional he understands all my vision needs. All the care Staff are always friendly and supportive. I highly recommend this vision center for all your vision care. read more

I've been taking my dad to this eye center for past few years and I have to say it's customer service has gotten awful. Let's start with their check in, they now have kiosks for patients to check in. However they are expecting that all patients know how to use a kiosk. I do not believe this company took any consideration when they implemented this system. For example how do they expect older patients or people do not know how to use technology be able to check in. Now let's move on to the doctors, they used to be compassionate when meeting with patients not they seem hurried and wanting to move on to the next. I would strongly advise the board or CEO to review its business practices and take their patients into consideration before making decision that only improve their bottom line. read more

Had an appointment with Katrina Li. Granted I was late about 20 minutes, I concede that. However, 2 weeks prior I came in on time for my original appointment to the one I was late too. When I get there she tells me she ordered the wrong prescription and I needed to come back. Mind you I work in Milpitas ca so it took me 1.5 hrs to get to the clinic. She told me she screwed up and made a mistake. I said cool no problem, we all make mistakes. She apologized and we rescheduled. I didn't make a fuss or anything and I would have been well with my right to complain but I didn't. Fast forward being 20 minutes left and she would not give me the same courtesy and give me an opportunity to be seen. I would not recommend her at all. Not considerate of people time, does not pay attention to detail as she initially screwed my prescription. If you go to this office try and see someone else. read more

I can't find anything bad about this place the only thing that worries me is that there are ALOT of people that work there due to how busy it is that I get worried that they aren't as trained and qualified to operate machines. Other then that I always have a good experience at vantage. My doctor is Dr. Bernardino and he is great! The longest I've waited in the waiting room has been about 10 minutes and the kiosks are easy to use. You just need to have your ID and insurance card ready. I saw that there are reviews about this place that are bad and I tell myself to watch out for it but every time I go there it has always been nice, easy and efficient. read more

Love my doc here and have had a good appointment with a specialist here as well, but their optometry office employee named Maria is OFF THE CHAIN rude! Almost, in a comical way. I literally went in to pick up my contact lenses yesterday, and her attitude is still just rude as ever, from the get-go. She even mocked me (!! Like what?!) after she turned and started walking away to pick up my contacts from the back. I have zero patience for her and i'm basically just giving her own attitude act to her at this point, as she obviously doesn't respond to basic manners and actual kindness. But I really do love the rest of the office. I am just blown away by this specific employee's continuous rudeness to nearly every patient I see her interact with. I have several friends who go to the same office, and we have all remarked about this. Like I said, nearly comical at this point. She's basically the caricature of every rude "Karen" type of employee you've ever dealt with in your life, rolled into one. So have fun picking up your glasses! read more

Alas, there are only five stars. The Center deserves more for the excellent training, skill and care they provided. I had cataract surgery on both eyes performed by Dr. Page. The results were fantastic. The care I received by Dr. Page, his assistants and the entire staff at the Center were beyond my expectations. From the initial examination, through surgery and Post-Op appointments, everyone at the Center were attentive, supportive and highly professional. I also was impressed with the care received by Dr. Elizabeth Luu, who assessed what type of glasses I need going forward. Dr. Luu, the Opticians and her staff were very efficient, informative and polite. I recommend Vantage Eye Center. read more

First of all, you have to see about 5 different people to get through your visit. One to check in, one to put you in a room, one to ask questions with the doc, one to walk you to the desk after the visit, and one to schedule a pre op appt. Talk about a pain. They are really unorganized here not knowing who is taking care of what. You need 5 appts just for a simple 15 min procedure. The MD was nice, but the MA that brought us back was completely silent the whole time, typing on the computer with her back to us. Hopefully after this last appt we won't have to come back. During a regular visit to my eye Dr. Balin, he noticed I had a possible Retina detachment so he immediately called Vantage & spoke with Dr. Reza Iranmanesh, MD. He checked my eye on a Friday, he saw a tear & ordered his staff to postpone all his Monday morning surgeries so he could do the vitrectomy I needed. Surgery was done to perfection, follow ups & later Cataract surgery was performed to give me the best vision possible. Had I not had that surgery that quickly, I most likely would of lost sight forever. I am ever so grateful to everyone at Vantage with every single step (billing, insurance, appts., follow up appts.) read more

Dr. Iranmanesh was dismissive and condescending. I would not recommend or go back to this clinic. We went to the one in Monterey. I was referred here by my optometrist because it was believed that my retina was detaching. When we finally got an appointment at Vantage, we were attended to by Dr. Iranmanesh. I started to tell him my symptoms and what I felt. There was an awkward silence and rudely said "okaaaayyyy" held it long and I'm sure we all know that condescending okay. He checked my eye and said it was just old age what was happening to me and I'll get used to it. I once again reiterated what I was feeling to which he replied "it's unrelated, that has nothing to do with this" As if the pain I was feeling was imaginary. He made me feel like I was crazy. I knew what I was feeling. I tried one more time to which he rudely replied "go see another doctor. A front eye doctor." And walked away. He was so rude, Dismissive, and condescending. I did do just that. I went to another clinic, found another doctor who was kind and heard my concerns. He diagnosed me with MGD and I've been feeling so much better. Glad I got a second opinion. Would not recommend anyone to go here or go with this doctor. The girls at the front are kind and great though. read more
