So not sure if this is surprising, because there is an assault of 5 stars reviews for Vantigo, but here's another 5 star review. First, if you are a tourist or a local there is certainly something in this trip that you will learn or find enjoyable. The feel of the "tour" is Erik being the best friend you didn't know you had sharing his wealth of knowledge about your destination and places you pass on your journey. Nothing better than having your local friend show you a new city. We did the Oyster trip with Mead and Cheese tasting. It was superb. I was surprised to hear this wasn't the most popular tour. The Oysters are delicious, but the scenery and people you meet at the Mead and Cheese farm the trip very unique and memorable. Overall, Vantigo with Erik and Harvey (the Bus) is an absolute mandatory bucket list item. read more

Just took the Highway 1 Brewery Tour with my fiancee and friends, all of us whom live in the city. It was such a fun way to spend a day, learn a lot about beer, get to know some local brewers, and see the coast -- all with a chauffeur who's friendly, easy-going, and informative. Hands down, the most fun thing I've done in SF! I've been to the city a few times, but have never seen it like this. Justin, our tour guide, was great! As was Harvey, our bus. We got some great insight and views about the city that I never would've known about. In about 3-4 hours you get to see the whole city, which would've taken me almost a whole day to do on my own. Had a great and fun experience on a Saturday morning touring San Francisco with Chad in the blue VW van named Harvey. Chad was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Surprisingly, the van had plenty of room for our group and attracted a lot of admiring looks from people on the street. My boyfriend and I were on a road trip and decided a tour of San Francisco was a must! After seeing all of the spectacular reviews for Vantigo we booked our tour and couldn't wait to tour the city in a sweet VW bus. The pick up location near Union Square was really convenient for us and we found our tour guide with ease. Justin our tour guide was great and so funny. We Went through all of the major districts and he happily pointed out great places to eat along with other very interesting facts throughout the tour. The palace of the fine arts and the golden gate bridge were my favorite stops and we were given adequate time to wander around and take pictures. Justin was even willing to take a few picture for us as well which was great! I surprised my boyfriend with a wine tour this past weekend I couldn't have asked for a better experience!! We had the pleasure of riding around in Jerry all day with Eliza as our tour guide. Eliza did a wonderful job making everyone feel comfortable from the beginning, and she offered us mimosas for the quick and beautiful ride up to Sonoma. Once up in wine country we went to three amazing wineries, and were setup with our own private tasting at each! Eliza did such a great job making the day feel effortless so our only worry was to have fun and taste amazing wines :) At the end of the day for our fourth stop, our group chose to mix it up and go to Ernie's. A small bar with lots of personality and great beer! I couldn't have asked for a better day with a better group of people! My boyfriend and I are already planning on doing a second trip! Taking this tour within hours of flying into the "City By The Bay" was invaluable as the next three days of our mini vacay we were much better oriented as to the Cities neighborhoods and delights. The 3.5hr tour is just as described and neither we nor the group from Quebec we were with could've asked for a better tour guide. Chad was very knowledgeable, personable and quite simply the principal reason we all enjoyed ourselves as much as we did. Loved Erik and the 7X7 tour. I recently moved to the bay area and thought a guided tour from a local would be a great way to get acquainted with the various neighborhoods and learn my way around. I picked a weekend that my mother would be visiting from out of town, and it ended up being a perfect way to spend a Sunday together. We lucked out and had Erik and "Lillie" all to ourselves. They picked us up and provided a laid back but thorough tour of the city, complete with scenic stops and historical tidbits at every turn. I'm looking forward to doing the Beer Tour sometime soon with friends. My daughter and her boyfriend took me and my visiting brother on their coastal beer tour yesterday and it was simply amazing. There were four of us and another couple and we were all fast friends by the end of the day. The beer helped, but Erik is awesome and the whole experience was perfect from beginning to end. We really enjoyed ourselves on this tour. We have lived in the Bay Area for 3 years and took the tour because my in-laws were visiting. I was surprised how many places around the city I hadn't seen and how many interesting things I didn't know, despite having gone on other tours before. It was really nice to have more of a personal interaction with the guide, and to go places that the tour buses don't/can't go. Also, for 4 people this was not a lot more expensive than buying tickets on the larger hop-on-hop-off tours. I highly recommend it. read more

Literally my first time leaving a review because it was that good. It was a rainy day, but our tour guides didn't let that stop us. I was nervous about driving around in the rain, but our guides knew where they were going and made me feel safe enough to relax and enjoy the ride. We drove down the coast, enjoyed a great lunch stop and learned a lot from their knowledge of craft beer and local breweries. We met some great people and got to play our own music on the ride. To top it off, we got some great tips for local late night fun and he made sure we got our glasses that we had forgotten on the van. Can't say enough good things about this tour. We had a great time on our tour. We saw everything we wanted to see and more. Our driver Michah was great! He was very knowledgeable of the area and had information about all the stops. He gave us suggestions of places to go and places to eat in each area. Traffic is a bit crazy but he was a safe driver so no worries. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour even if you have been to San Fransisco before. No way the bus tours could go this many places...nor could the driver answer everyone's questions. read more

Wonderful tour! Eliza was a kind, personable, funny, and knowledgable guide. The tour stretched through many of SF's best sights and coupled with the van, the soundtrack, and the "cash cab element," kept everyone interested throughout the whole 3.5 hour tour. There were breaks to take pictures, stretch your legs, buy souvenirs, etc. and lots of great recommendations for food and shopping (which we followed immediately after--also excellent). My 2 daughters, their friend and I took a tour with Chad and Lillie last weekend. I already knew a van tour was the way to go as vans can go places more easily than those big tour buses plus it is easier to see more from a van and also more personal. My daughter Lily (ha, perfect, Lily went on a tour on Lillie) is obsessed with VW vans so this was so fun for her and a great part of her graduation present. The tour did NOT disappoint, even though it was rainy the whole time. Chad was full of interesting knowledge from trivia to history to knowing where all the famous people lived or had lived. He also had a kind of soundtrack for the tour with music that matched each area we went to. The van was comfortable and he even had a blanket if someone got cold and waters. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a great overview of San Francisco. There is just so much to see in SF that it's impossible to see it all without a tour and this is definitely the best one I have ever done and I have been going to SF since I was a child. The truth is that I didn't and thanks to Erik I was able to know a lot of little stories and facts, my favorite thing to do when visiting a city. Can't recommend the Highway 1 Brewery tour enough, well worth the price of admission! The drive down the coast was awesome and I learned lots about the brewing process and the industry as a whole while sipping some new favorite local beers. Definitely planning on trying out a couple of the other tours next time I have friends and family in town. We went on the City Tour with owner Erik and it was like a friend showing us the city. His personal touch really shined as Lillie weaved around easily through all the streets, hills, parks and beaches. This was our first time really seeing San Francisco and I can't imagine how much we would have missed being on one of those huge jump on/off busses. It was great relaxing and listening to Erik explain everything we saw. His knowledge of SF was amazing! It was also fun watching passerby's take pictures of us in Lillie! We just had our SF tour Nov 29. We were lucky enough to get Chad and "Lilly" and wow!!! The tour was amazing!!! Let me start by saying that when I read it was in a VW, an image of us cramped in there for 3 hours came to mind, but it couldn't be farther than the truth! Tons of space! Chad was cool enough to take pictures of us, answer any and all questions, and was VERY knowledgeable. He even had a cool playlist to go with the tour! This is a guy that you can easily tell loves his job. The stops were great, the photo ops were great, and well Chad... was awesome! Made the whole experience that much more memorable. The only thing I would suggest is maybe adding one or two more photo stops? Like the science academy. I would have liked to take pictures there and also the Castro or City Hall. Other than that, it was worth every penny!!! If you don't take the tour, you'll seriously regret it. Thanks Chad!!!! read more

WOW! My friends and I went on this tour last week and had an amazing time! Two of us were first time SF explorers visiting a Bay Area native. All three of us absolutely loved riding around in the VW vans. Chad and Zachary were phenomenal guides and gave us great tips for other things to do in the city, including where to get the best Mission burritos!! I highly recommend this tour, the hours in the van fly by, you get to see all of the city, and get dropped off with a wealth of new SF knowledge! My wife and I recently took our first trip to San Francisco and decided on taking a Vantigo tour based on the great reviews on Yelp, Trip Advisor, etc. Zachary was our guide and Harvey was our van for the tour. The Vantigo tour was by far the best we've ever experienced in any city! We went for a long weekend and there's no way we would have been able to see everything that we did on our tour if we went by ourselves. And if we did, it would have cost a lot more in time and money by using Uber or Lyft since we didn't have a car. Zachary was extremely personable and knowledgeable. He provided an unreal amount of information about the sites and San Francisco as a whole. He also provided several recommendations for other sites and restaurants that were spot on! We are so happy that we chose to see San Francisco with Vantigo and we will be sure to recommend this tour to any family and friends who visit the city. read more
