Pizza is quite large- recommend sharing with one person. Not sure where we were supposed to get utensils or napkins as they were not on the table, nor were they brought to us. Fast service when you order from the QR code but not much after the fact. Music was crazy loud - they had live singers. We rushed to leave because the volume was so high. TLDR: Typically a huge Vapiano fan but this is the worst Vapiano I've been to! Rude service that lies and accused us of lying! Refused to refund us even though we waited around 40 minutes for our food and almost missed our next reservation. Full account here: I visited this location at 1:30 pm on August 3 and had an awful experience. We ordered by QR code by 1:36 and the online system said it was being prepared and would be ready by 1:39. By 1:49, I got up and asked about my food, trying to show a waiter my phone order, to which he said wait. I figured maybe I needed to pay by cash and paid at the register. As soon as I did, the online system said my food was ready. We wait until 1:59 and I get up to ask about our food, trying to say that it's said our food has been ready for a bit now. The same man tells me to wait & that they'll bring us our food. At 2:15, I ask for a refund at the cashier. The woman says no and brings over the manager. The manager turns out to be the man who kept telling me to wait; the one who refused to look at my screen when I asked him to. He accuses us of switching tables and that our food has been ready for 15 minutes, telling us a waiter has stopped by our table with our food. He then points at our old table, where a new party is sitting, as proof that we changed tables even though these people just arrived and the only reason we left the table was to ask for a refund. Additionally, the whole time we were in line to ask for a refund, we kept our eyes on the table and no waiter came by. He makes them move, which is rude to the new party. He continues to refuse to refund us. He then pushes me off on a waiter who says our order went through at 2:00 and that waiting 15 minutes for food isn't bad. But the manager said our food had been ready for 15 minutes already, which contradicts the waiter who said our food was ready by 2:15. Either way, someone lied. We ask for a refund again, explaining we have a reservation at 2:30 and can't take the food with us. They tell us we can either take the food to go or eat there and accuse us again of switching tables and that the waiter had come by. The table next to us vouches that we never left the table. The waiter accuses us of lying & tells us to eat our food. We take a few bites and the pasta isn't even good. We leave after this at 2:28. My main two problems are: - the lack of clarity with the QR code, it said my order was being prepared at 1:36 but the waiter said our order didn't go through until 2:00 once we paid, it should've told us right away to pay or that our food wouldn't be prepared until we paid - the rude staff who's first instinct was to lie and accuse us of lying From Trip Advisor and Yelp, it appears this behavior is not a one time incident and the staff is continuously rude. read more

The worst experience I have had after going to Vapianos for years. We ordered our food at 1:30pm. We waited over 40 minutes before deciding to ask for a refund. They finally brought out are food at this point and claimed it had been ready for 15 minutes. Rather than apologizing, the the staff lied and said we were not at our table and that's why the food didn't come out earlier. When we told the staff we were at the table the whole time, they called us liars. We literally had to ask the people who sat next to us to vouch for us to the staff that we indeed were sitting at the table the whole time. Even after this, the staff refused to refund us or at least apologize. I find it deeply insulting that the staff's first instinct was to call us liars, and when we proved them otherwise, refuse to at least apologize. This location deserves its low reviews read more

Ugh, sooooooo goooooood! I just want someone to make me pasta like at home everyday . Beyond yummy, you can just taste the freshness of the ingredients. Super easy concept if you've never been: They give you a card upon entry. You grab your own tryna and utensils, order what you want with the chef, scan your card at the bar code reader, enjoy your meal, scan your card on your way out at the cashier to pay for the meal. After being handed a menu, I set to the kitchen and was ready to order my risotto, despite pointing and using basic french to the server, he still called over an English speaking waiter to explain that they didn't have any rice or risotto, I mentioned I was gluten-free and this was the only thing I can have but then I was told I could have pizza or pasta. I was sceptical especially when he asked me the type of pasta I wanted so I said any as long as it is gluten-free/sans gluten, only for him to continue listing pasta which made me grow even less confident. Eventually, I opted for a Carbonara, I was still reluctant so I then showed him a translation on my phone and he said "Please don't worry", I showed him this again when he brought the food but this time made it into a paragraph describing how ill I would be, he seemed confused again but nothing twitched on. He then said "no cream? no meat?", he didn't have a clue. He did say I could leave without paying and I could take my drink for free, still not an apology - I then proceeded to laugh as my drink was also pretty bad, they'd given me the wrong flavour of iced tea which I'd asked for twice and pointed directly at the flavour. Before you say it - this isn't a language barrier, I speak basic French and used a translate app on my phone, it's plain carelessness and stupidity. I checked with him if the food was gluten-free FIVE TIMES and he replied yes and the person to tell me not to eat it wasn't him, it was the amazing group sat next to me, one of which is also gluten-free who explained to him. He didn't even apologise to me. I've never had a more ridiculous dining experience where I had to check something was gluten-free, using two different languages and be lied to like that. Man, if there's one restaurant I miss from Paris, this is the one. First of all, the ambience is super cool. You walk in to this dimly-lit, massive space filled with wooden tables, candles, and indoor plants (my fave lol). There's also a giant olive tree INSIDE the restaurant, how cool is that! Moving on, as I'm sure you've read in other reviews, the concept of this restaurant is great and very efficient. Essentially, you walk in, get a card, and walk to the back of the restaurant where you'll see multiple lines for pasta, pizza, etc. As you approach the front of the line, you tell the chef what you want and they cook your meal RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. You then tap your card and pay at the end, after you've finished your meal. Onto the food- I had the carbonara and added shrimp. O M G..... it was so freaking good and now carbonara in the states is just pathetic to me (seriously). It was very creamy and sooooo flavorful and rich. They don't skimp you out on bacon, but I do wish they added a bit more shrimp. You have to try this pasta yourself to know exactly what I'm talking about when I say it is AMAZING. read more

After a long day of exploring the city, we stumbled upon Vapiano. It was already around 21:00 and most restaurants were close (assuming it is because it was Whit Sunday). Vapiano is a brightly lit place - very modern-looking. There was a short line up, so we figured "must be good!" And... We were right. The concept is unique - you walk in and they provide each person with a card. You then look at the menu and place your order at particular "booth/section" (e.g. if you want pasta, go to the pasta section). They make the food in front of you and you tap your card when they are done. You get your food just as you would at a cafeteria and when you finish eating and leave, you surrender your food card and pay at the counter. I got the recommended special: Pollo E Asparagi Al Senape. Basically a chicken spaghetti dish. Both the quality and quantity of the dish was spectacular. For 13.90€, you're looking at a full dish! They also don't skimp out on cheese (for all you cheesey fans out there!). I would give this place a 4/5 overall. Only reason why I can't give 5/5 is because the wait was honestly too long. Not only did we wait 30minutes just to get inside (it was a short line too), we waited an hour just to order our food. I guess having someone make your food infront of you takes longer, but they really need to figure out a way to make things more efficient. read more

My fiancée and I recently went to Vapiano to grab something to eat after we had been walking around the city all day. After seating we were told to scan a QR code to order. When we attempted to pay we were told we had to move seats which also reset our order. Our orders at the new seat did not come out at the same time nor did our drinks. There were an alarming number of unsupervised children running rampant throughout the restaurant. At one point I went to use the restroom where there were several children blocking the door and playing with the sinks and hand dryer without any sign of their parents. It was very awkward. The chicken and sauces for the pasta were bland and seemed unseasoned. Service was also pretty slow and at one the host came back and tried to tell us to move seats again claiming we hadn't paid yet. This was the best find in Paris. Thanks to fellow Yelpers on their recommendations/ratings, we stopped by for a late lunch. The staff was very helpful from the beginning till the end. You are given an electronic card and then use it at the various stations to order food and drinks. We opted for pasta and pizza. Selected a small table by the front windows. The location is three levels with two dining areas. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Paris. Just a block or two off the main walking areas. Make sure this is on your visit list on your future trip to Paris. Perfect with great food and a very relaxing dining experience. Interesting point, the two olive trees inside are alive. We loved this restaurant! It is a self serve style where you go to stations to order your meal, which they make right then and there. They had a pasta station, risotto station, and pizza station. We ordered one pasta, one risotto and one pizza! It was all delicious but we especially loved the Bruschetta pizza, pictured below. We hope they open one of these in California! read more

My wife and I spent the Christmas/New Years Holiday in Paris. We found Vapiano through the Karl Lagerfeld clothing store next door. It is just off of the Champs Elysses. We ended up eating here twice, including on New Years Day when EVERY other restaurant in Paris was closed for the holiday. We had meals including pizza, pasta and salad. Price point is very reasonable and food was delivered quick. The restaurant is two levels, very large with clean bathrooms. Definitely family and disabled friendly. Would recommend to all. read more

I miss Paris and I absolutely miss Vapiano. The bf and I stayed at Champs-Élysées during our Paris vacation and found Vapiano which was just a short 10 min from our place. We ate here every. single. night. I love the cool ambiance, fresh food made in front of you, efficient payments, herbs on your table.. it was absolutely phenomenal. Process - Once you enter, each person is given a card. There are various stations throughout the restaurant ranging from pasta, salad, pizza, etc. and you line up based on whatever you want. You use that card to tap on the table which loads whatever you order and same for drinks. When you're done, you simply present the card to the cashier and pay for your meal. Let me tell you, this would not fly by in LA lol. I guess that's why I thought the concept was pretty cool. People here are honest enough to pay for the convenience and the service (instead of dine and dashing). I've had every variation of the risotto with white wine and the bf had the pizzas. It doesn't matter what we get because we enjoyed every single dish from here! I can't wait to go back to Paris!! I still dream of this place. read more

Personally, I Love risotto so finding a risotto bar was a great find! The concept of obtaining a card and swiping along for everything you order is unique but can eventually empty your wallet if you don't keep track of what you order. Visited with my husband, two children, and sister in law. Walked in and learned of the concept - quirky, but decided to give it a try. Didn't have an issue ordering the kids' pizzas, but the minute my husband got in line to order his he was told, by the one guy behind the pizza area, that he'd have to wait to order so he could make the pizzas. He gave up on that idea and we honestly should've left then but the kids' dinners were already ordered. My sister in law and I went for the pasta line. At one point there were THIRTY PEOPLE in line for four pasta stations that averaged five minutes per person. Twenty seven in line when we were waiting. There were other pasta stations by the pizza station that were not opened. Then I was told that I could not use my card - all adults were given a card for ordering and charging their food. That meant I had to put my kids' meals on my card, but when I went to order mine I was notified I was going to be "over on the limit". HOW IN THE WORLD WAS I SUPPOSED TO FEED MY KIDS if a) only adults got them and b) they put a limit on the card? My husband had to go back to the front of the restaurant to get another card. We waited a ridiculously long amount of time for average at best food. If you appreciate service, highly recommend you skip this one. Unless you are cool with standing in line for your own food FOR FOREVER and paying €7 a piece for a bottle of water (oh yeah, we paid €28 in WATER for our family). We had Aglio E Olio (spaghetti with sliced garlic) and Lasagnes Al Carne. The spaghetti was surprisingly good, I normally don't like spaghetti, but this restaurant makes the best spaghetti I ever had, cooking timing was perfecto, flavor was really amazing, I even gave up on my all time favorite Lasagnes for it. Appetizer - we had Caprese, Mazzarella di Bufala was great, cherry tomato was very sweet, we finished all. Only lasagnes was a bit too heavy. 4 stars for a casual, made-to-order pasta bar. They make their pasta on site and I loved the texture. 2 stars on how long it takes to get your food. I was the 5th person in my line and it took (no joke) 20 minutes plus to get up to the front. They need a better system! When you walk in, a guy will be you what looks like a gift card. You use this for the cooks to "charge" for your order. You put it in the glass square at the bar and they tally your order(s) from one or multiple bars. Even though it was half full with people you had to wait in line to order your food with some items not available and then wait in line some more for your meal to be made. Forget getting desert unless you want to wait another 15 minutes in line, so we went somewhere else for that. That said, the pasta we ordered was delicious. This place is poorly set up and confusing where to order your meal and seems to be run by young and inexperienced staff. This place should be closed immediately for health hazard. During my visit yesterday I found mouse running around in the restaurant not one but two!! When I told the manager she said yes I know but we can't do anything about it!! The staff also don't follow the proper hygiene procedures. They touch food with their hand without wearing gloves. One of the best finds in Paris. Location is great for tourists. The chefs make the pasta infront of you and scan the electronic card after you order. Line gets long on the weekend, took about 35 mins to get our food. I would recommend the bolognese with the hot pepper. Everything is very fresh and reasonably priced.
