I was mistreated by the only dentist in my small Appalachian town as a child and have had several dental problems follow me throughout life due to that childhood experience. As such, I am very leery of dentists and it is difficult for me to separate those who really wish the best for your dental health versus those who wish to do as many treatments as possible to enlarge their bottom line. When I first came to Turlock, I was treated intermittently by a well known local dentist who prescribed un-needed treatments and whose staff kept pushing me to have a "deep cleaning" (the dental world calls this Scaling and Root Planing). In addition, that dentist missed a localized infection and missed a spot that needed to be filled. Because I was suspicious, I decided to search for a better dentist who might give me a second opinion. After a bit of internet searching and asking around, Dr Antoine Varani's name popped up more than once. So, I made an appointment and found out that the Dr Varani mentioned by others was also my neighbor a few houses down the street. He quickly located the localized infection and cavity and gave me an idea for a possible treatment plan. As I researched more, I came to find that he was exactly correct and he did not charge me for giving a second opinion. Because of my initial favorable experience, I made another appointment for a cleaning and a treatment plan. During that appointment, Dr Varani indicated that most of the gum pockets in my mouth were fine and that a Scaling and Root Planing was not needed in my case. I asked him about my missing tooth and he gave me several different options but also explained their negatives as well. Eventually, we decided on a dental implant, with a titanium post, abutment and zirconium/porcelain crown. Of course that is not the cheapest or easiest treatment method but he explained all the negatives in detail as well, and I never felt Dr Varani was trying to sell me something to pay his mortgage or finance his latest vacation. Over the course of the last year, I underwent the appointments to have the dental implant installed and the procedure is now finished. I liked that Dr Varani was able to do the entire implant himself (in office) without farming me out to bone specialists (who add cadaver bone) or other dental middlemen who drain your bank account. (although, Dr Varani will send someone to a specialist when he feels the case warrants it) In my particular case, when the implant was finished and the crown was placed, the surface of the crown did not match the surrounding teeth, even though this was no fault of Dr Varani or his staff. (it actually had to do with poor manufacturing we believe from the crown manufacturer) Now, in some poor dental practices, the dentist would try to charge you for removing the crown to have it replaced and the color matched, but Dr Varani simply said that he wanted me to have the best result possible and never charged me. As a result, I now have an excellent implant with a crown that matches the rest of my teeth. To say he has earned my business in an understatement. By being honest, putting the patient before his own profits and truly trying to help others out, I can say that he is a dentist which stands above any others I have encountered in my lifetime. Dr Varani also lives in Turlock and is actively involved in the community (as is his wife). He is not someone who lives in San Jose but only commutes over for his practice to The Valley. Since I realized we were neighbors, we have also gotten to know his children and come to realize that his whole family are quality people. I would without hesitation recommend him to others and to my own family members. You would be hard pressed to find a dentist half as good as Dr Antoine Varani anywhere else. I LOVE MY DENTIST Dr. Varani is the BEST! I've been seeing him for a couple of years now and I'm so glad I found him. I have had some pretty extensive work done, so I've had to visit his office often, but who doesn't want to go to the (dental) spa; right?? There's champagne and cucumber water in the reception area, paraffin wax for your hands, the exam chair has a massage option, aromatherapy and radio station of your choice are already prepped when you enter your exam room. And now that you are relaxed... I'll get to the reason you are actually searching for a dentist - Dr. Varani and his team are always friendly and professional. The office is full of all of the latest equipment and Dr. Varani is super conscientious about 'doing the right thing'. On a few occasions, he just didn't feel right about the color of a crown or the way it was seated and he made the appropriate adjustments each time until it was just right. He actually cares about doing a good job, not just doing whatever is beneficial to him and his practice. I have had some bad experiences with other dentists, so I had avoided going for a few years, but now that I've been seeing Dr. Varani (even though I still have some general anxiety) I look forward to my visits to his office. This place is amazing !! I am normally not one to recommend a dentist but will definitely be bragging to all my friends about my experience. I had no idea this was a dental spa so when I got there and received spa treatment I was instantly impressed. The front office staff was friendly and up beat. Dr. Varani was kind, gentle and caring. He asked me my preferences instead of just doing things his way. Him and his staff went out of thier way to make me comfortable during my entire visit. The room I was in was playing music from Pandora station that they had me select. I listened to Alicia Keyes and relaxed in the chair which was a massage chair with heat. I've always been terrified of the dentist and am very tense. Not this time, I actually fell asleep during my root canal. I was amazed. Instead of putting off all my dental work like I normally do I will be having Dr. Varani take care of it all. I am a very happy customer and highly recommend this dental spa. read more

Wow what a wonderful experience! This is by far the nicest, most professional dental office I have ever been to! Professional but still a very friendly staff and of course Dr Varani is the best!! He did my dental implant and at a very affordable price. Dr Varani also went out of his way even coming in on off hours to check my implant when I was in the process. Can't say enough good things about this office. And as if everything wasnt enough they give you a paraffin wax on your hands while you're being attended too. Dr Varani has the most up to date and top of the line equipment, yet it doesn't take your arm and 2 legs to pay him. Its taking me this long to find a great dentist but it was worth the wait! My hygienist Nicole was excellent and the Office Manager Melissa was informative and helpful. Matthew in the front that schedules appointments comes off as irritated and unhelpful. I walked in a few minutes late because I did not know that the office had moved. He said, " well we sent a text message" I was like, I check the text message and clicked on the link that still shows your previous address (Still on Olive). I was embarrassing and I don't need someone huffing and puffing on the phone when I am trying to schedule my appointment. This is not the first contact with Matthew and every time he has not been professional nor helpful. That is the only reason I did not rate the experience 5 stars. If they change the scheduling person, which is the first person you have contact when entering the office. I would recommend in a heartbeat, right now that is not the case. read more

This place is legit, staff is super nice and helpful. Dr. Varani is seriously the man, very nice, honest and funny. Told me my options and gave me an honest response to every situation possible with the problem i have since i have serious problems. He handled a filling as quick as I ever been a part of and pain free. PAIN FREE! I dont like the dentist, never have, always gone through so much pain while i am there. For the first time EVER, i left painfree and was there pain free. I mean, WOW! Just go and experience yourself, the reviews are all on point, legit place. I also got to watch ESPN while the procedure was done, its as good as a dentist gets, SERIOUSLY! My experience with this dental office has been extremely disappointing. Based on my visits, I believe the quality of care provided by Dr. Verani did not meet the standard I expected or the standard advertised. I found him to be unprofessional and dismissive, and I did not feel that my concerns as a patient were treated with the appropriate level of care or attention. In my opinion, the focus appeared to be more on payment than on providing thorough, quality dental treatment. As a patient, I expected honesty, professionalism, and a proper duty of care, and I feel that these obligations were not fulfilled. Coming in to my appointment, I originally had some very small insignificant communication errors, on both my end and the practice, but the office manager Lea and the front office staff were so helpful and very understanding and were able to turn my day around an make it a great experience almost immediately and also understood what it was I wanted to get out of this appointment. Just came from my first appt at Dr. Varani's office. I was impressed from the minute I placed my phone call and was scheduled in next day. My hygienist, Natalie, was very kind and patient with me and helped calmed my anxiety. She did a great job at explaining to me everything that she was doing. Dr. Varani, you are truly amazing. I was terrified on how much pain I would be in during and after my root canal procedure, but Stephanie and Dr. Varani made me feel so comfortable and calm and walked me through it all. I didn't feel any discomfort during the procedure, they even turned the message chair on for me and had the music on loud. This is my 3rd dentist office that hasn't done what they said they were going to do. I was supposed to hear back from them the same day. Last week. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. I have bad teeth, so maybe they just want the "fluffy" jobs. My insurance from the Veterans Administration is at $3500 and about to expire. They were supposed to call with a game plan. My visit to Dr Varanis office was great. The staff was professional and courteous. The wait was very short, and the X-rays were fast. Once Dr Varani looked over my teeth and X-rays I was very happy with the treatment plan he set up for me. Then I had my cleaning from Natalie the hygienist and it was very comfortable. I had a cleaning appointment today. My hygienist, nicole, was absolutely amazing. She spent a lot of time meticulously removing my stains tooth by tooth. She's a perfectionist and assures that you're comfortable at all times. In addition to that she is personable and positive. My teeth felt great afterwards. Dr. Varani and the staff at the dental spa were very accomodating. I had not been to the dentist in many years and the atmoshpere was very welcoming.
