Aline went a step further and styled my hair to make me look more fabulous than I felt and she gave great tips on how to achieve it myself in a short amount of time at home. Mirella is the best hair stylist around. She asks you exactly what you want and she is a perfectionist. she is very fast and does the blowout on my hair just the way I like it. She is very gentle with your hair and does my hair in less than 45 minutes and after that it looks great. I highly recommend her. She is the best!!!! read more

Scarlet is the best colorist! I found her through Yelp and have been with her since bleach touched my virgin black hair. It's been exactly a year and we have been through a hair journey together. From brown to blonde, blonde to blue, blue to violet, ombré to highlights, lowlights, everything! I ask a ton of questions and Scarlet always has an answer for me. Even though I probably annoy the hell out of her LOL. Anyway, whatever you ask of her, it'll look fabulous. I always show her ridiculous hair pictures and expect it to turn out a certain way. I can's say enough great things about Vareki Salon! I use Carlos Ramirez, who is the owner. I have gone to him for a while now and was ecstatic to hear that he opened up his own salon! Not only that but it was even closer to my house. I wouldn't trust anybody else in the world with my hair. He is a master colorist and will always give you the color you imagined in your head. Also not only does he give his honest opinion on what will (and won't) look good on you, but he'll also make sure that you're comfortable with what he's doing with your hair. I've had some traumatic experiences in the past so he's my go to guy! He always reassures me that my hair will turn out great. And it does! The salon is always spotless but more importantly, the staff is friendly, helpful, respectful, and well educated. Everyone helps one another and that's why I love getting my hair cut here. I had pedicure with Tiffani. She has been doing it for 28 years and she does it right. She is very clean, very gentle. She gave me a lecture on how to care about nails, which products to use. She has only 1 type of pedicure, no hiding fees or extra charges for products. You don't have to explain to her how to do it -she knows exactly what to do and how to help. Tiffany also, said that she helps diabetic patients to take better care of the feet. Pedicure was 1.5 hours-and it was perfect. I would highly recommend her. She explained to me that it is not right to cut cuticles. The best is to use cuticle remover-it takes longer to do a pedicure, but it is better for the nails and cuticles. Cuticles will not grow faster and thicker. That is how it is done in best salons in Europe. Finally, somebody knows what she is doing. read more

I would highly recommend booking an appointment with Aline at Vereki Salon. Aline was formally working at Drybar meaning her blowouts are incredible. From haircuts, ombre, balayage and keratin treatments, I've trusted her with my hair and have always been happy with the results. Not only is she a talented stylist, she is also well-educated and knowledgeable of her profession. She really takes pride in her work and loves what she does. Aline has never tried to upsell me or pressure me into something I'm not comfortable with. Each time I've seen Aline, she gives me honest responses to my questions and gives me the best possible solution to my hair problems. If you're looking for a superb stylist, go to Cathy. She has been styling my hair for about a year and this is the first time I have ever liked me hairdo. She listens intently, works with her clients, but also subtly gives you the benefit of her experience. I was considering bangs and she told me to think twice about it and gave me longer swept to the side bangs, which work great for me and soften my face. I'm so glad she advised me to avoid the full-on bangs. She checks in at every appointment to see what worked and what didn't and adjusts accordingly. The salon has a nice, relaxed vibe. I have been going here for nearly 6 years and would give this place 10 stars if I could! I have really coarse curly hair that is difficult to deal with and was really reluctant to try a new stylist. However, Aline has been my saving grace! I've gone to her for a variety of services = chemical straightening, blow outs, color, and trim. $200 Hair color w/ no cut. That's all I got to say. Can't even tell the difference. Went in for the Balayage (I think that's how you spell it) the Kinda Ombré look.. and my hair looks the same. I contacted the hair stylist which I won't mention her name.. she was very nice but in my line of work if clients are not happy I make sure I get them back in and make sure they walk out happy. Especially to the ones I sell an expensive procedure for. I was quoted over the phone and I guess they just kept the same fee even without the hair cut. At the end of it I mentioned to her "you can't tell the difference" she walked me outside in the sun which obviously you can see some highlights. Well slightly. Then she said "give it a few months and the color will get lighter" no one at home or work even noticed I dyed my hair and I'm not exaggerating! So it's been about 4 months now and my hair has lightened but not enough to be able to notice. I wasn't going to leave a Yelp review because the girl was sooo cool but now that I'm making an appointment at another salon for a hair cut it just pisses me off that the $200 "highlights" are going to be completely gone! I was not going to write this review only because I did not get any service from them BUT...... this is my story. Every time I get my hair done I love looking for new places/hairstylist to see what's new and different I always pay around 125-175 with no problem as I know everything cost if you want quality. I have short hair just below my ears SHORT hair. I came in and asked to get my hair done as I have bleached hair, no toner and roots no color what's so ever. I know this because I went to 2 different places and asked why this gentlemen was charging me like that. So he said 140 to take my color out, again what color ?! and 175 to get what I wanted. So that would of made it 300sh +tip as I know tip is not a must but I always love to take care of the people that take care of me. So that was a little outrages.. ?! Or am I wrong ?! I was looking for a new stylist when I found Varekai Salon net door to our drycleaner, Ocean Park, on MacArthur Blvd and Bristol in Santa Ana. I made an appointment for a haircut with Aline Hernandez and crossed my fingers that it would be a positive experience. When my long-time stylist moved out of the country, I tried several stylists but each resulted in bad haircuts and p/or coloring, mainly because they didn't do what I asked for didn't know how to cut fine hair. I'm so happy to report that this was not the case with Aline. She was very nice and professional and took time to talk to me about my hair, hair concerns, and the best way to cut and style fine hair. I was very luck to find this place! I was shopping in the nearby mall and was referred to Varekai and walked in to see if they could fit me in and got an appointment within the hour! My hairstylist: Basically I was looking to get a new shape but not loose too much length while I am trying to grow out my hair. I got my shampoo, cut, and style from Aline, who was professional, nice, and very careful with her work. I was very impressed by her attention to details and continue to fix up little things that she probably could have let me leave with and I never would have noticed. $55 for the cut+$15 tip. If I'm in the area next time I need a haircut I'm asking for Aline! The salon overall: Clean, modern, and generally upbeat without being stuck up in the least. I had such an awesome experience yesterday with Aline! I'm stoked and simply can't rave about my hair enough! I had not colored my hair for over 3 years and this past January decided to go for a change and got a bayalage at a different salon. First time it was great just that it looked very coopery and had to go back a few days later to get it corrected. I went in early April for a retouch and when I left I still noticed those brassy/coppery tones. I was scared to do anything with it so I just dealt with it for as long as I could. After a month of sitting on various stylists chairs and not really feeling comfortable, I found Varekai and, thankfully, Aline. She is the sweetest, most awesome, and personable stylists I've ever met! She took about 15 minutes a few days before assessing my hair and explained step by step what we would do...something that the other stylists did not take the time to do. I came in with a vision for what I wanted to do with my hair. I sat with ALINE. She said she could absolutely do what what in my picture. Then she proceeded to ask me questions. She explained low maintenance hair vs low maintenance hair. She asked me about my daily routine and we decided that the vision I originally had would not be realistic for me to maintain.
