Went in for ash grey/silver bayalage and Travis DELIVERED. After one session of bleach, my hair actually lifted light enough to achieve the blonde we needed to dye it grey. I've dyed my hair manyyyy times and never has it lifted this quickly. It would always require 2 sessions of bleach or coming back to continue bleaching after 2 weeks resting period. I was really nervous about dying my hair from my mostly platinum blonde that I had for 2+ years to dark brown...but Travis was excellent (communicative, honest, friendly, fun, and professional) especially during this COVID pandemic + riot season. I just needed a colorist to 1) dye my hair since my hair was half blond and half natural dark brown and 2) trim my hair for the first time in 11 months... By the time I got to the salon, I didn't exactly know what kind of hairstyle I wanted to have (sent like 4 photos)... he was able to blend two colors, reminding me that it could easily lighten over time - how perfect. Since my civil wedding was going to be the next day, he made me an exception to pull me in on his off day. I've had 2 coworkers rave about Travis's haircuts for the past 3 years so I've seen their hair right after he cuts and then seeing it at all stages growing out. I've known of his expertise for a while now. I finally booked an appointment because of his outdoor salon experience, and also being one of the salons open during COVID. I've always had medium/long hair and wanted a boy cut (it's been on my bucket list for 20 years!). I have extremely thick Asian hair and a whole lot of it so was always afraid of how an extreme change would look on me. Travis was able to look at the style I wanted and make it work with my face shape, hair texture, and communicated the entire way about it. I felt really comfortable. I saw that he was able to envision what I wanted and use the correct tools quickly to achieve what he needed. It's truly a talent! I also had my hair colored by Eric. He meticulously checked my color along the way, making sure it was the color we needed and also clearly communicated what he was going to do/what was or was not possible. Bonus is this boy is HILARIOUS! My mom has always been really traditional with hair, saying that long thick hair is a womans crown jewel so I was scared of her response but I was shocked when she saw me, and kept repeating over and over that the stylist made this haircut look good (not you look good, but he cut this hair so good lol thanks Mẹ). Outdoor Salon Experience: It was really hard trying to find a salon the open during this quarantine time but luckily this place is open for outdoor salon!! Travis follows all protocols and make me feel super safe while getting my hair done. I've gotten my hair bleached and processed, every few months, for years. My hair has always been in various shades of pink, purple, and silver. Therefore, I am best friends with my armory of hair masks and treatments. I understand how to care for my hair. However, I never had my hair so damaged that even the magical Olaplex couldn't patch; I never had an issue until I visited this salon. Eric went on my Instagram, libeled me in my photos, and direct messaged me name-calling and threats. He also doxxed and fabricated stories of me being a scam artist taking salons' money on his account @ericluong_artist . See screenshots. I have also posted photos of my over processed hair, including unsightly photos of myself just to show the true state of my hair. We can say all we want, but the work speaks for itself. After being at this salon for an average of over 8 hours per session, I just wanted to go home. I was hungry. I didn't want to argue. Of course I paid the $$$ service just to get out. Of course I said I liked it. Of course I said it looked great, because I want to be positive albeit my naivety. Can the damage be undone? Of course not, so I made the most out of it. "My hair *has* to look fantastic coming out of a salon since it was done by a *professional*!" is what I told myself. Perhaps it was just me thinking that my hair looked weird. (Now I know, it definitely wasn't me). But how about after three days without wash? How about after a week with one wash? It just kept getting worse and worse. Everyone working in the salon was friendly and fashionable, but this review is specifically for my girl TINA. You guys -- this girl knows color! Not only how to initially do it, but to fix it if someone else has done you dirty! When I first went to her, I had patchy orange spots in my hair and weird yellow/brown areas. She completely transformed my hair and made it the platinum blonde I asked for. Then when I realized the platinum was amazing but way too much upkeep, I asked her for a more muted blonde and BAM -- gave me hair color that I am absolutely obsessed with. She's sweet and chill and I believe she could do anything you ask for. She even fixed a really bad cut for me and did I mention her prices are ridiculously fair, especially for her talent! I found this place on Yelp because it close to my house, at first I was hesitate to give it a try because I am very picky when it came to my face or hair. But I couldn't believe how fast they fixed my old (hair)color. At the other places I would have to sit there at least 5 hours or half day but this place I spent 2 hours. The result came out just worth my time and money. My hair didn't dry out at all (I believe they use top quality products) and smell good for the whole week. Plus, good service too. I've known Travis for years and he's always been an amazing makeup artist and hairstylist... both services that don't really apply to me. When Travis started offering 3D eyebrow microblading services it caught my attention because my natural brows are really sparse. Travis eventually talked me into coming in to his salon to try it out and he assured me he would make it look natural and not too dark. We agreed to fill in spots that needed it instead of doing a full brow so it won't look like I'm wearing makeup. I'm usually very afraid of pain but Travis made sure to apply enough numbing cream so that I didn't feel any of the micro cuts he was making into my skin. Came in with high hopes based on google reviews. Travis sent me to one of his worker bees, and she screwed up my hair. Tried gaslighting me and telling me if she cut it shorter it wouldn't lay the way I wanted it to. I asked her to trim a bit more because it looked like a mullet and not exactly what I showed her in the photo. Well, guess what? After 3 days it still doesn't lay correct, one side is lopsided and still looks like a mullet. So sad my former hairstylist went off to do other things. Please recommend a good one. read more
