After taking my order, one of the many guys behind the counter dipped into the back for 15 minutes, which seemed like an exceptionally long time for a sandwich. I took my sandwich to eat at home. The sandwich was pressed and toasted as a Cuban should be, and it was filled with about half a pound of ham, no roast pork. In addition, there was so much mustard on the sandwich that it upset my stomach. Had I wanted a ham and cheese panini, I would have ordered one. If the person who took my order told me they were out of pork, I would have happily changed my order.

Guys here also carry a variety of veggies and have several aisles of fully stocked shelves. One side of their large glass counter has the deli meat+ cheeses, followed by pre-packaged mixed greens, Salad toppings and prepared meals- which they can heat up. On days I don't bring lunch to work, I get an eggplant sandwich with lettuce/tomatoes or go for the eggplant on mixed greens with other veggies- that are both winners for me. The Spanish-speaking guys working on the kitchen side are always helpful and know my picky ways and the owners are friendly. Budget-friendly is not. But know this- S&W comes handy on this end in E. Tremont.

They definitely have not been because it depends solely on the person making them. BUT over the years I feel they've earned the 4 star review. Aside from the sandwiches, this is a clutch spot to come to when you need some quick things instead of having to go to one of the big grocery stories. They have a good selection of groceries, meat, and produce. Some of the prices are a bit higher but nothing crazy in my opinion. Over the years most of the staff have been friendly and helpful, the sandwiches have (mostly) been very good, & they always have things I need in stock. To my horror i had been consuming an ungodly amount of mold with every bite of that horrible croissant. Only god knows how long it had been sitting out. Of course when I noticed this I went back to the deli to tell them. All they could do is give me my 4$ back and tell me to go to a doctor. Now where I messed up is giving them the croissant back instead of sending it off to the health department. Mind you I had a 14 hour flight a few days after this visit to LENNY'S. Horrific! This croissant made me ill of course, and to this day I cannot eat chocolate croissants, I can still feel the webs of mold in my throat. DO NOT EVER TRUST LENNYS, YOUR HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS DELI.
