I love that they had a tv so I could watch the tigers. The haircut SUCKED though. I have really simple hair style (buzz cut) and asked the barber to just buzz it all down to a 3. He ignored me and just went away at it taking it down to about a 1 1/2. I am not happy with the haircut at all. I had the man with all the tattoos so I don't know if any of the other ones are any good, but definitely do not get the man with the tattoos. read more

A true old-school barbershop complete with seashell terrazzo floor, marble backsplashes, and of course, the original bad-ass electric barber pole out front. Mike is THE MAN for your facial grooming- straight razor shaves would be a bargain at twice the price. I throw the guys $40 for a shave and a haircut and feel like I got out cheap. read more

I recently moved to Ann Arbor and had not been happy with the few barbers I had visited, until I walked in this place. Great haircuts for $16. Mike cut my hair and actually listened to what I wanted. Most places just listen to get a vague idea of what you want. Mike actually asks questions as he is cutting away to make sure you get the results you expected. This place is great! My boyfriend always gets his hair cut by Mike! His hair always looks fantastic! Mike is personable and very funny! Mike is really meticulous with his cuts and always does a wonderful job! Even though barber shops are kind of "guy areas" whenever I come in with my boyfriend to get his hair cut I always feel welcome! The environment is very relaxed and comfortable! Went there because I am old school and love getting my neck straight razored. While waiting watched barbers do their thing. All of them super impressed me. I noticed that they constantly evaluate the clients head from multiple angles including from the mirror. This viewing from the mirror is an technique I used as an artist to check my work for balance and proportions. We drive in to downtown from the "outskirts" of Ann Arbor for cuts here. The guys are friendly, they take the time to really understand what each customer wants, and the cuts have always been top quality. It's an old-school, no-frills space (save for the ginormous-screen playing ESPN), but it does the job. $16 out the door gives me a cut that's on par with the best I've had. read more

horrible! my husband and I just got back from there and he hates me now because I convinced him to try this place instead of lady Jane's. The reviews were great and we had been wanting to spend some time down town so he went with my idea. He had been growing his beard for a few months now and it was looking great just needed to be lined up. Needless to say we did not go out to dinner afterward he went straight home and shaved off what he had been working so hard to grow he was really proud of it and now he has to start over! the barber just trimmed it did not shave or strait razor the little bitty hairs that are left behind from the trimmer. the mustache are was crooked it was horrible! for hair cuts maybe but I would definitely not go if you want your beard to look nice. The place also appeared to be really unsanitary, my husband is not the neatest of guys and even he commented on the cleanliness of the place while we were waiting to be served. read more
