Another fantastic "wouldn't-have-found-it-without-yelp" place! It simply wasn't on the main road we traveled and with all the in your face advertising we would probably have gone somewhere else. DELICIOUS gyro sandwiches. We both ordered the same thing as we are fans of gyros and we were both highly satisfied. Prices were reasonable and the food had that great quality of filling you up without making you feel like you had eaten a brick. Not at all greasy. Or overly slathered in dressing. I really devour a good babaganoush and their plate was left clean--no bitter raw eggplant taste! The domalades (stuffed grape leaves) were moist with tender rice pilaf cradled inside however the falafel fell flat--too dry & dense reminiscent of an over fried hush puppy. Therefore, you couldn't enjoy the texture of the smashed chickpeas when broken open. But the tahini sauce was pungent & perfect. Treat yourself to baklava in its many preparations. The joint was full by 1215p but ordering went fast & food was up in 10 minutes or so. I disliked ordering fast food style, being summoned by a vibrating hockey puck, & busing my own table at prices comparable to mid-level full-service restaurants--30$ for 2 for lunch. They have a 2nd outpost in Springfield @ the Battlefield Marketplace--but, sadly, no Hwy 76 notables. Alas, neither a sighting of "Greg Brady" nor the self-aggrandizing "Brangelina of Branson"! I was excited to try this place because of so many good reviews, but it was just alright. It took forever to get our food and no one else was hardly there. The tuna sandwich was nothing special at all. My husband's curry chicken salad sandwich was much better, but you better love curry flavor! My cup of tomato bisque was pretty good, but definitely had a lot of cream, so it didn't feel so healthy. The best part of our meal was Drew's side salad (from pick 2). It had lots of fresh veggies and he got the raspberry vinagrette...wow! That really was tasty! And the price...too much for what you get. The best review I read about this place said the prices were on the high side of reasonable. In other words, I would have liked to have paid less but I'm not crying about what I did have to pay. When my wife and I were looking for a place to eat we noticed the reviews for this place was outstanding. We were expecting food that transported our taste buds on a journey to another country. Pastrami on rye is one of those food choices where in my book you got it or you don't Vasken's got it. Was doing an extended chill time with my lovely bride and two long time Wild friends (as in name, as in character tame as puppies). Well as in all group things finding a place everyone is happy happy and willing and is a challenge. Especially when you have a gluten free and other 'musts' before one bride can be a happy bride. Well a few Facebook messages back and forth gave us an assurance the bride would be happy and so we gave it a try. The bride was happy. So were the our Wild friends and so was I. The pastrami was heated through out and piled high. That in itself is a five. But the fact that the bride was happy with gluten free not spicy (meaning as spicy as milk) the Wild duo were happy as two puppies with a doggie treat (I forget what they had I think hummus for the female puppy and soup and sandwich for the male puppy, I need to take notes). We stopped in for lunch, not busy. We both ordered a gyro, it was not great, Arizona has a couple places we went to a lot, this was no where as good. Really disappointed, but someone husband knew was there and told us the pastrami was really good so guess I have to go back as that is my favourite sandwich. I was really hoping to find a New York Deli but apparently no such thing in this area. Even an Italian Deli would be nice. I guess Phoenix area has more to choose from. Very good looking mediterranean deli! Next time I'll order a sandwich and sides because the appetizer I chose, Combo Platter, just wasn't for me to make a meal of. I should have requested that the Dolmas be heated rather than cold and the Falafel was gummy. My husband chose the Bavarian German pizza, it was saturated in mustard. Their service is fast and friendly, their tea strong and sweet (unless you like unsweet, or green, because they have that too.) Menu is promising but execution is sorely lacking. Ordered food to go and was disappointed to find out that half of my kid's meal was missing when I got to the hotel. Called to see what could be done and was told by surley deli worker that she would take my number and someone would call me tomorrow. There was no manager on duty, when I told the deli worker that she could refund me or make the other half of the sandwich and provide the chips, she hung up on me. Order and pick-up at the counter, service is fast, and the place is clean as a whistle. Expect the same quality food ever time. There is nothing better on a Friday afternoon then a lobster bisque soup and a Rosa's turkey wrap with fresh veggies and a cashew finger for dessert. Fresh, local, quality ingredients and never waivers from amazing service every time. Their flavored teas are fantastic and freshly brewed. For the kids, there is plenty to choose from. This place was just ok. My husband got a classic gyro and liked it. I got a chicken gyro, which was made with frozen particle chicken that didn't have any flavor to it. Based on the fact it's supposedly Mediterranean, I have to give this place two stars. Of the items we ordered none were truly Mediterranean. The Tabbouleh was a joke. There's no hint of mint or lemon, and includes chopped green bell peppers, has very little bulgar wheat or parsley. I ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, which was not shawarma at all, and was not flavored with the traditional shawarma seasonings. The meat tastes like corned beef (which was excellent in its own right, but definitely out of place for a shawarma sandwich). We also ordered little kids pizzas, which was just a pita sprinkled with a tiny bit of cheese. For being a Mediterranean Deli, I don't think this place lives up to its namesake. read more
