Great "real" deli! I ordered the spicy ham and cheese and my husband got a Reuben. The spicy ham and cheese was definitely spicy but not too overwhelming as it seemed it was Louisiana style hot sauce. It was cheesy, messy and delicious!! The Reuben my husband got was on a marbled rye bread. Very nice looking sandwich. We also ordered an appetizer of hummus with pita. Very generous portion and very tasty. For dessert, we split one Greek baklava triangle and it was fantastic The restaurant is spacious and clean. Pros: hummus and baba ganoush were very good as was the tzatziki. The combo appetizer plate was nice for a chance to try a variety of items. Large chunks of feta and several tasty olives. Con: the falafel was far too dry. Pita was fair, nothing special. Tomato slices were almost frozen. I discovered I do not like dolmades but that is no fault of the deli. Husband liked them. This was our first time to visit Vasken's. I would definitely recommend visiting. We were in Branson for Spring Break and came for lunch. It is off the Strip in a quiet area in the north part of town. The food was freshly prepared and delightful. While I prefer a sit down restaurant with a wait staff, this was a nice place. We were lucky we arrived just before noon as the place filled up quickly. This little gem is a must. Food was great and it was quiet and not busy and clean and had great seating and open spaces. Glass bottle drinks as well as fountain drinks. Good deli variety. A safe place for Vegans in Branson! They have several Middle Eastern selections: falafels, hummus, dolmas, etc. All were very good. I live in a Middle Eastern community and the food was as good as at home! Will definitely return when we are in town! read more

If you're looking for pre-made, microwaved Mediterranean inspired fare, then Vasken's is for you. I got the falafel platter and it was evident from the shape and a ring around the middle that the falafels (too dry, decent seasoning) were pre-made and heated on-site. I was impressed with the trio of dips - the tzatziki, hummus, and baba ganoush were lovely, but those were the best part of the platter. Dolmas were ok. My husband's grilled chicken salad was a massive disappointment. Many of the greens did not appear super fresh, and the chicken was inedible. It had a slick and rubbery texture - after taking a bite, it was obvious these chicken pieces were frozen and then nuked (some pieces still tasted a little frosty). We were very underwhelmed with our experience here...both with the service and the food. Prickly pear iced tea was a wonderful surprise, but that was probably the highlight of the meal for us. read more

Very unhappy with experience here. Aug 26. I made it very clear to the young girl that took our order that I was highly allergic to nuts. She guaranteed me there were no nuts in the chicken curry salad. When I arrived at my home in Branson I discovered there were walnuts in the salad. I had to quickly take a Benadryl and hoped my epi pen would not be necessary. I called the deli same girl answered. I heard her ask someone in the kitchen. They verified yes there are nuts in it. She said she would get her manager to cancel the charge. I called next day, she said she would handle it. I called again next day and was assured it was handled. I've still been charged for a meal I could not eat due to her negligence and could have ended up in anaphylaxis. This is not good business. Attention management if it's not corrected soon, you will hear from my husband. I was only just able to let him know and he is furious. I would really appreciate this being handled with your employee as it seems she may have out and out lied to me about informing you and handling it. read more

I love Mediterranean food but my husband isn't as adventurous when it comes to those flavors. After looking at their menu online, we felt this was a great spot for us both. I ordered the chicken gyro and he got the pastrami sandwich. Of the two, the pastrami would be the way to go. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken gyro was just ok... I would skip that. We were so disappointed today. We arrived at 11 am to find several tables dirty. We ordered a sandwich and soup, but none of the soups were ready...they were still in the soup pots frozen. Really? At lunchtime, frozen soup? Someone should be getting that ready prior to lunch. Since we couldn't get soup, we ordered a side of pasta salad. Big mistake. The pasta was cooked to a mush and looked like it had been made a few days ago. My husband took the pasta salad back and told them we couldn't eat it. The employee only said that it was made fresh today (if so, they need a new cook) and " Sorry about that." No offer to get us anything different. We've been here before and had a good meal, but what we had today sure wasn't worth $15 for both of us. Probably won't go here again...and we live in the area. read more

Vegetarian platter didn't taste fresh. It seems the food is prepackaged and sits in the fridge for a while. Pita bread was stale and had a strong taste of reused cooking oil. The oil came from the grill where they cook meat probably. If you are a vegetarian keep that in mind. Service was nice and friendly. The food leaves a lot to be desired. I too read the reviews online since we were looking for some place different than what was on the "strip" and thought we would check this one out. The Greek salad was good as was the appetizer hummus. Could have used some more pita with that though. Wasn't too impressed with the Italian Muffaletta. The grilling of the bread didn't add anything to it. And I think the bun which was used was a little too doughy. But maybe that helps to keep the sandwich from falling apart. Maybe I am too used to the muffalettas in my area. Greek Baklava was very good. Recently redecorated and looks very nice. I'll keep this place in mind if I want something off the beaten path. read more

Basic. Edible but not great. Arby's fastfood greek euro is better, that is super sad to say. The euro meat (I got 1/2lbs to go) was just bland. Texture was weird for euro. Thick chucks of meat, not nice flavorful slices. The meat was edible but wasn't great and would be close par to gourmet dog food. The taziki sauce was so bland! It tasted like sour Creme with garlic. So bland it was gross. No taste of cucumber at all Which is typical with a taziki sauce. I've had a sandwich as well and was so basic and not worth the money. It was fine. I hate to be so blasé about it, but it really was just fine. There were so many good reviews about it that I was ready for my socks to be blown off, but I can really only say that it was fine. Though it dons 'international market' in its title, the "market" consists of maybe 3 or 4 wire shelving units that hold a mish-mosh of mostly European wares right by the front door. When we arrived around noon, the place was empty. It started to get alittle more traffic by the time we left an hour or so later. Their award-winning specialty is their gyros, so I ordered a spicy one and again, it was fine. It was fresh and tasty, but it wasn't unlike something that I could have gotten at my fave fast-Greek spot in Indy, nevermind my fave sit 'n Greek restaurant. Been wanting to try this deli on our last several trips to Branson. Finally did and was a little underwhelmed! First with the positive, the sandwich was phenomenal, and if based solely on this it would have been 5 stars. It's counter service so not a lot of expectations, but a greeting, smile, and a thank you would have helped. Nope, none of this. Left my debit card and the buzzer on the counter and walked off. When the buzzer alerted that the food was ready, I found my tray sitting in the counter with no one around. The floor was nasty but after we finished eating, one employee came out training two others on how to clean floor, tables, and empty trash so I'll let them slide there. It was busy. The pastrami, bread, cheese, and sauces were great. Choose chips as a side because the pasta salad was maybe two tablespoons. Very good but small. Looking for a quick lunch stop for our family of 10 and found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed!!! I had the chicken gyro and my husband had the firehouse gyro! Both were very very good and huge for the price! We couldn't leave without trying their truffles and Greek desserts!!
