Brian Vaupell, the owner of this shop, is the last of the honest car mechanics. The reason why he is so busy is that he retains a loyal clientele. The reason he has loyal clientele is that he doesn't nickel and dime you, therefore people are more than willing to spend for the quality repair and honesty that he, and his team, provide. Brian will tell you bad news or good news, it doesn't matter, because he is honest and has integrity. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else. If it ever move to another part of Chicagoland (I am blocks away from the shop), I would still drive here to get service. Even if I lived in Wisconsin or Indiana, I would probably still drive here. I have had my two vehicles serviced at Vaupell over the last 10 years. I have yet to have anything less that excellent service from them. They have been honest and upfront with what work is necessary and what work may not need to be done at this time. In the past I would periodically take my vehicles to their respective dealerships and I would often feel like they are looking for extra unnecessary work to be performed. I do not get they from Vaupell at all. I've had a breakdown out of town which was a difficult problem to troubleshoot. Vaupell was willing to help troubleshoot with out-of-town dealership in my interest. I could not recommend a better service center. read more

Brought vehicle in and let Brian know exactly what I wanted done. They delivered as I requested but they also updated me on everything that the vehicle needed and what was recommended. They listed priorities that needed attention and what would be needed in the future along with estimates. They also sent updates via email of what they found or could be potential problems with my car. I thought that process was phenomenal since it demonstrated what they found. They shop is definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to service and the staff is amicable and thorough. I would definitely recommend this location for your vehicle needs. read more

Vaupell is a class act when it comes to auto repair and service. No pressure, or sales tactics. I personally don't like taking my truck in for service because of past bad experiences common in this industry. Brian and his shop guys are honest, sincere and knowledgeable. I took a used car in to have it assessed before I bought it and the team at Vaupell went through an extensive list evaluating everything about the car. After they were done, they took me through all the potential trouble spots and offered advice as to whether or not the car was worth it.
