Buying tires or getting anything mechanically repaired on your car should not be difficult but it is when you are shopping around for the best honest service and of course the cost with the least amount of your time waiting. I called around looking for any shop that would sell me two tires before the winter and I happen to give A-team a call and I was glad I did. My luck the owner was on the call and suggested an alternative brand that would give me the same functionality but with less a cost. I pre-paid over the phone and he told me it would take 45 min and come next day. That afternoon, I came and saw they were super busy with all bays double stacked. As promised, they got me in and out within the hour. Mike who I was working with that day was courteous and professional. I wasn't happy but still brought car in for an oil change that they advertised on their web site for $22. I was charged $53. When I asked why I was told they will give me that price next time. Mike and Marks team was fast, efficient, and friendly. Very affordable too! Upon arrival, one of the mechanics had noticed me after entering the strip mall and saw me proceed towards the shop and he directed me where to enter (through the rear). I waited about 5 minutes before being asked to pull forward into the garage. After proceeding we quickly exchanged that I would need an oil change and was directed towards to waiting area. I believe I was there no more than 30 minutes for my oil change. I'm glad I received the mailer from Mike and Mark as that is how I was guided to this gem of mechanic shops in the area! read more

Went to Chevy for a diagnostic (mistake). Their price for repair was ridiculous. Called Mark at A-Team to have them do the work for less money and couldn't be happier with their work and service. I needed the car back that same day and Mark and his team delivered. He was very communicative throughout the day making sure I was well informed. He found that Chevy's diagnostic was not thorough and there was additional legitimate damage that needed to be fixed. Seriously. This place is excellent. I can't say enough about the quality of work here. I was coming in to just get my oil changed, but then they noticed my brakes were out. Laid out all the details, all the costs, and even gave me a loaner car while mine was being fixed AT NO CHARGE! Damn. That's good. They've got a customer for life now. The A-Team Replaced the rear main seal & don't have a picture for that because that was an all day job.They also replaced the 2 front wheel hubs, rotors & pads on the same day. Dropped the car off on Wednesday so they could get a head start & they had the car done on Thursday by 3:00. They did a great job. I decided to get a new oil pan, so I went back the following week & the A-Team put it in within an hour. Before & after pictures provided. Excellent Service All around ! I have a converted ambulance with dualies I use for tailgating which many tire places will not work on because of the size/weight. I took my ambulance in as one of the dualie tires was low with the stem in a place I could not reach. Henry had to try several methods to get air into the tire because of the stem location and when he finally did we found a leak in the side wall (tires were +10 years old.) Henry gave me a very fair price (I compared prices on the internet) and I decided to replace both outer rear tires. They even offered a ride home as it was late in the afternoon. All the employees I interacted with were great and the cost quoted was what I was charged without adding BS fees other places often add at the end. When I need work on the vehicle I will bring it there in the future as most repair places do not handle diesel engines and they treated me as well or better as any other place I had worked with. read more

I seem to have this problem every spring where I have to replace one of the tires on my car because I hit a pothole. Seriously, I checked through the receipts and at this point I might as well just start budgeting for it. This time I came prepared because I did my tire research and knew what I needed to get (especially considering that this tire may not last more than a year, considering my history). But y'know what? I don't feel totally swindled like I did when I walked out of NTB after having to spend more than $200 per tire, plus all kinds of ridiculous fees. The gentleman at the front desk gave me straightforward options and had the replacement on my car and ready to go in about an hour. I was offered coffee during my wait, and another fellow actually came by to make sure I was comfortable. Their service is top notch, even offering free courtesy rides back home if you need to leave your car for awhile. I've had other work done at A-Team in the past, but I believe they had a different name at the time. I've never been disappointed and really need to start patronizing them more often. Mark, the owner, is wonderful as well as all his mechanics. This has been my go-to place for oil changes for the past few years. You can't beat the price and it's consistently SO FAST!! The best part is, this place does not try to up sell you on replacements/repairs that you don't need. Since I had such positive experiences with oil changes here, I also had all of my tires and brake pads replaced back in the fall. I mentioned that I thought I heard my brakes starting to squeak when I came in for my next oil change and Mark cleaned and checked everything out for me on the spot. He even said if they are still giving me trouble, he'd replace them- no questions asked. My brakes are working great and now I'm confident that if anything happens in the future that he'll take care of it. I definitely recommend this place for all of your car repair needs! :) read more

Great place to take your automobiles for repairs . I had been to many shops around Countryside/ Lagrange neighborhood and all they do is just rip the customers. A- Team fellas are different. They wouldn't rotate my tires because he said "they ain't no good" and I'm not even sure they did any inspection. I was basically ignored from the time I walled in. Total rip-off joint. I went in with a Groupon coupon for a tire rotation and an oil change. The guy said he could do the oil change but didn't have room for the tire rotation, and had no idea when would be a good time. I'm retired so i could have come back anytime, but this guy decided he was going to play the old lady for a sucker instead. After I got the oil change he was going to just let me go so I asked for a voucher for the rotation. When I looked at it in the car, it said tire rotation with next oil change. In other words, he changed my groupon so that I would have to purchace another oil change before I got the rotation. To top it off they screwed up the computer on the dash and said it would reset. I like this place, they are friendly, and very competent at what they do and they are reasonably priced as well. I had two repairs done on my vehicle and they took care of it to my satisfaction. I wish they both could have been done at the same time, but a part had to be ordered which required I come back on another day. I didn't like having to come in two separate times, but overall I will return again for oil changes, and if I need to have more work done. They advertise $15.90 for five quart oil changes. The new, condescending owner/manager 'Pat' told me that a full-synthetic oil change for my 4-cyl would cost $60, which I said is too much since I'm not currently working. I then inquired about the cost of the Lucas engine oil additive that they have out on display, and 'Pat' said it would cost $19 with that stuff. I said, "Ok, let's get the oil change with the Lucas oil additive for $19, call me when it's ready".. When he called me I was informed that the total price comes to $40.72. "Wait, you said the oil change with Lucas additive was $19".. "No, the Lucas additive is $19" [for the 32oz bottle--of which they only use 16 ounces] tacked-on to the $15.90 + shop fees and oil disposal fees. There wasn't any misunderstanding, just shady business practices and double-talk. This is the same place whom under previous owners tried to swindle my senior-citizen mother out of $1800 for unnecessary engine work just weeks prior to changing owners (again...) A-Team should stick to changing wipers and putting air in tires, because they're not qualified for much else! Shady business practices, poor communication and inexperienced customer service. Businesses like this one give the already questionable independant auto repair shops and garages an even worse image. Take your car to Fair Muffler, Maas, Sonomatic or to a dealership instead of this place. read more

It didn't matter to much to me when they had an owner switch as this was the closest location to my house for oil changes and maintenance. However, I have moved over the years and wouldn't dream of going to any one else for car related issues! Bob and John are the absolute best! I'm so happy I know I have a dependable establishment that I can turn to for any issue with various cars I've owned. A very dependable/knowledgable group of well rounded friendly staff. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the work was completed extremely quickly, the quality of the work was top-notch, and the service was the best I've experienced in years. My car was at the Chevy dealership down the road, and they had quoted me $250 to replace the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor. After calling around a bit, I came into A-Team and was quoted $90. I ended up getting a full service done on the car, from an alignment and tire rotation to oil change and some repair work. Took It twice and every time I went home the light came back and they said bring it back so wen can keep on charging you. There are good mechanics there but who what it matters is who is running it!
