Have gone there for many years. Was fired as a patient/customer today for i am not really sure…read morewhat. Years ago this was a pretty good vet, then they got bought out, and since i have never seen the same DVM two years running. Took my dog in today to get bloodwork done, and to get a lump tested to see if if she has cancer again. The new, very young vet listened to me explain the reasons i had come in (for maybe $500-600 worth of services), and responded by trying to upsell me on testing/meds for osteoarthritis. For context, i have never been to this office without several upselling attempts by staff. I explained that i was looking at a very expensive visit today, likely followed by thousands of dollars of cancer treatment, and that i was not interested in discussing arthritis today. The vet had no idea about testing costs, so someone else was brought in to explain that. There was a long pause, and then the office manager came, and reproved me at great length, in very vague and confusing language, for being dismissive to her staff, and told me i was free to leave with no charges if i wanted to. I said that i would rather proceed with getting the services that i came in for. Apparently this was the wrong answer. She then told me that they did not want to provide me with any services. A thoroughly weird experience.

They told me one other price on the phone for the treatment plan which the receptionist said $150, after the appointment it came to $267. That's a major difference they failed to tell me on the phone that my cat needed a leukemia vaccine. That's what racked up the price. But the receptionist mislead me and I ended up paying so much more than I thought. I won't go back here again, because of the miscommunication.

I brought my brand new mini schnauzer to get all of his vac and checkups. When you arrive they give you a print out of an estimate of what the appt might cost. Then they take your dog in the back and and come out w a completely diff estimate with all the things the vet thinks u need now. So you agree and after they do all the work they come out and say he needs a few more things. Two visits I spent over $1000 on unneeded fecal tests etc. now is the hook, line and sinker. I have my dogs flea med on auto ship from chewy and Bansfield just rejected the most recent delivery. When I called back, they said my dog needed another test b4 they would approve it. So one, they r holding the medication hostage and my dog will now miss a month of his needed meds, and two, they actually think I'm coming back for the heart worm test. I called Tara's Mobil and her test is $30 and Bansfield was going to be $130. It's disgraceful what they r doing and I clearly let the woman on the phone know. Extremely unethical business practices. They are all about the money and couldn't care less about your pet and this scenario is proof.

This is an update from a review I wrote previously. I do not have enough good things to say…read more I have now been here twice with very different outcomes, though both ended exactly as they "should." The first time was 6 years ago with my dog who was bitten by a venomous snake on a hike. By all accounts, he should have died. They absolutely saved his life and kept me updated every step of the way (it was covid, so I couldn't even go in with him). He had to stay overnight for 2 nights and the vet even called me at 10pm with progress reports. They gave me an estimate range, and while it's expensive to save your dog from a copperhead snake bite, the bill actually came in at the very lowest end of the range. They were phenomenal. My dog fully recovered and is happy and healthy. Today, I visited again with my 15 year old cat who needed to be put down suddenly and our local vet was closed. Once again, they could not have been more thoughtful in how they handled us and our beloved cat. The vet explained things clearly and sensitively. Immediately, they offered to sedate him in the exam room with us so that he wouldn't have to be scared and taken away. They brought in a bed for him and we were able to be with him and pet him until the end. It was the least stressful it could have been for our cat. Every staff member was sensitive, respectful, and accommodating. I'm incredibly grateful. Two of the worst days of our lives could have been much, much worse without the care we received.

I am deeply disturbed by the dishonest billing practices and dismissive customer service at VCA…read moreFlannery Animal Hospital. During our visit, the vet explicitly advised me that blood work was necessary to properly diagnose my pet. I was given a financial estimate that included this blood work, which I explicitly agreed to and authorized. At discharge, I was charged the full amount of that estimate. Because no one discussed the lab findings with me, I assumed the results were still pending and that I needed to call back. When I called for the results, I was shocked to be told that the blood work was never actually performed. To make matters worse, the staff insultingly claimed that I had "declined" the service--which makes absolutely no sense given that I paid for it based on the required care outlined by their own vet. When I tried to address this blatant error, the front desk staff was incredibly condescending and dismissive, giving off a "deal with it" attitude. Charging a pet owner for diagnostic procedures that were never performed--and then shifting the blame onto the client--is entirely unacceptable. Check your receipts carefully if you bring your animals here.

Remember a written response is just words. Actions speak louder than words. For those who still go there all the best luck and hope you never have any issues with them and all those who are considering think before deciding who you choose for your pets well being. There are many vets out there who are out for your pets best interest. Also, repeat sedation is also not safe for your animals so the fact that all they continuously want to do is medicate and sedate because they have no other options to deal with animals who have any issues is not a positive. A side note that we have used Middle Hope for years and this is how they treat their patients so again their concern of best interest for the animals is only to protect themselves and not try to work with animals that have issues.. The concern that Middlehope states about giving prescription medication for was about my dogs ear and I was asking for ear drops not pills. They can say what they want to continue to defend themselves and their facility but in the end they are not for the well being of the animals. They want things only their way. They are just money grabbers trying to take over the area with their continued expansion. Trust me when I say do your homework there are many other better vets out for the well being of your family members.

Her wisdom and forethought went above and beyond my expectations, and believe me, I had rehearsed this terrible day many times in my head. My call was promptly returned, a convenient time scheduled, and the process discussed. During this time of social distancing, some special accommodations needed to be made, but they in no way interfered with the love my dog received that day. Dr Dale played music made for dogs ears only and was extremely comforting to me as well. She made a clay print of my dogs paw, which I will cherish forever. The support Dr Dale gave that day extends far beyond as she checked in on me and provided access to support groups. When I picked up my dogs remains, they where surrounded by meditation gardens and considering the circumstances (pandemic restrictions) I couldn't have asked for anything more comforting and reassuring that my dog was truly loved and that I had made the right decision. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Kathy Bremer at XTerra Dalmatians
