This place is consistently above the rest. The last couple of experiences have been sad but yet dignified. The family dogs have been finally crossing the rainbow bridge and we've been treated with nothing but respect, and dignity while saying goodbye to our loved ones. So disappointed. I brought my sick cat MINKS To Stone Cottage Veterinary hospital last week. I feel if your cat is sick, do not bring it there. My cat came home totally out of it after bringing her home from Stone Cottage Veterinary Hospital. They did not do much for her. In fact the vet a female that saw her, never came back in to tell us what to expect. Just the tech came in and casually told us she got some nausea medicine and they did blood word which would come back in a few days. She did not last a few days, Well she was so sick when she got home sicker than when i brought her to Stone Cottage. She had a fever and lethargy which i cant believe was ever checked, that night had to bring her to Flannery animal hospital Emergency Room., By the time we did it was too late. They said they could not do much for her even though they did try. We were there two nights in a row at 3 o clock in the morning. The second time to say goodbye to our beautiful googly eyed cat. She didnot have a chance they did not check her good enough at Stone Cottage and they charged us over 400 dollars for nothing. When I called up Stone Cottage the said they are a limited facility. So never go to a place like that if your cat or dog is really sick.The girl said the record showed the cat left bright eyed and alert. Not the case she never woke up for hours and hours till we brought her to Flannerys,where she died. What a shame, We just cannot get over what happened to our cat. Sick with grief. and i had to take out a loan to pay for all the veterinary expenses. So make sure you go to a vet who has laboratories if you cat is sick. read more

I'm so grateful for this veterinary practice. They are everything I could hope for and more for my 2 dogs and 2 cats. First, from the front desk to the technicians to the doctors and the practice owner -- there is a warmth and kindness that radiates through every interaction. It feels genuine and loving. They really care about my animals -- even the tougher ones. This makes all the difference right away. Next up is the quality of care -- they are thorough and knowledgeable and have handled some difficult medical and behavioral issues for me. And they are the kind of vet that is considerate of your budget. The practice prices are significantly more competitive than the vet in Beacon- I was shocked by how different the exact same tests and procedures and medicines cost here compared to Beacon. They do a great job of helping you understand what is critical/vital and what is "extra" and maybe could wait. They don't just throw the book of tests at you and then hit you with a giant bill. It's a thorough discussion between owner and the vet team. I never feel pressured or rushed. I appreciate that so much. Finally, the ease of reaching the office, scheduling an appointment, and the commitment to care even after hours is remarkable. I feel like I am family or close friends at the his practice. Our dog Bella was given the best care, for the many conditions she developed in her later life that were impossible to cure - at least she was humanely helped through pain medications that the doctors and staff thoughtfully dispensed . Highly recommend Dr. Nicholas Spaccarelli saved my 6 year old pit from bleeding out on the inside with a splenectomy surgery. After being told by another facility she was going to die and there was nothing to do Dr. Spaccarelli gave me hope and saved my girl. The care Stone Cottage puts into your pet is like no other, they go into detail and really help you understand what's going on with your pet and what will happen in the future I really felt safe leaving my dog in their care. read more

Very happy with this doctor for our pooch. He has two locations (the other in Montgomery, NY) for convenience with appointments on weekends. I've had routine check-ups done with the doctor and cost is comparable to other clinics in the area. My baby did have a small trace of lime in his system but the doctor assured us it was detected early and we could eradicate it with treatment. After the required treatment my pooch is lime free and I'm glad the doctor caught that early. Great doctor and staff with accommodating office appointments. read more

I ordered a full blood panel for my cat. They sent me "her" results with someone else's urinalysis. I explained that I don't trust the blood results because the urine test results were NOT hers. I was told by Dr. Nick - no problem, we'll take another specimen and rerun it. I just called to check on the results, and I was told the 2nd blood test never went out "per Dr. Nick," because they got the feeling that I wasn't coming back to do more business with them. This vet doesn't care about your pet, or stressing animals out with nonsensical multiple visits. They only care that you will not be coming back, so they'll just stop all in-progress work. Friendly, thorough, patient and attentive: they keep on top of all of our dog Mitsy's shots, vaccines etc. Mitsy can be tough on some vets but they handle her well. Cozy facility though the location across from the airport is a little strange. read more

6 months ago I brought two kittens with giardia here and the vet was unable to diagnose it even after a fecal test . One of the two kittens passed away before i could get them properly diagnosed by another vet. Complete incompetence and malpractice, telling me the two of them were healthy is inexcusable read more

My dog was seen as a new patient on a Friday. They took her to the back to cut her nails and do bloodwork. Shortly after the appointment her eye started to swell and eventually was swollen shut. I called as soon as they opened Saturday morning and they refused to see her or let me speak to a doctor. read more

My dog broke her leg a few weeks ago and I had to bring her to flannery since it was an emergency. Unfortunately, they don't have an orthopedic available all the time so I was going to have to wait a few days for a consult and then we'd make an appointment. Of course I didn't want to wait that long and I called around. Stone Cottage was able to get me in the next day with their orthopedic vet. Dr.  Nicholas Spaccarelli had responded super quick to my phone call and emails even after they were closed. What I appreciated the most was that my pet wasn't a patient of theirs but they treated her great and gave her excellent care! Thank you all again for all your help. read more

I started at Stone Cottage in 2000 with Dr. Fisher who passed away. Dr. Nick who is now the practice owner, and Dr. Martens are absolutely wonderful. The staff is excellent, compassionate, and very attentive. My Chloe has had weekly visits for close to a year now for her illness and the staff has just been concerned with her care. I recommend them highly for their concern and expertise. You are never rushed and I hope all patients are soon allowed back in all vet offices! read more

ZERO Stars - Just Don't Do it if you care about your pet especially, if they are a Senior in need of care. I took my 17-year old cat there as the pandemic was in full swing. It took a lot for me to be able to go someplace where I had never been and let someone take her into their offices without me being there. But I had to, my baby was up in age and had a vey bad degenerative disk disease and arthritis in her back which was getting worse. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Martens initially made me feel like I came to the right place and that she truly cared for my aging cat. We were there on a weekly basis getting chondroitin shots, fluids, pain meds, anything she needed. Her health went up and down and I understand that when it comes to the time that is the most hurtful and you need to make a life decision, you really need guidance. Dr. Martens would not see our cat on a Friday afternoon after knowing what she had been going through for more than 6 months. She told us early on a Friday afternoon, that they were too busy to see her that day and that we could try some pain meds and to come in for those and if needed, to go to another vet hospital over the weekend. Well, unfortunately, the weekend came and she had a stroke and we had to put her down. I wish more than anything we could have prevented her from having to live through that. And to make matters worse, Dr. Marten never called to follow up to see how she was doing or even as to why we did not pick up the medication she had prescribed for our cat. Stone Cottage Veterinary needs to slow down! They are completely overloaded with patients and have no real care or follow up for pets. It's a business all about money and not a care in the world about anything else. My bf has his own business and would NEVER not get back to a customer, especially one that he has been in contact with and helping for over 6 months. It took me a long time to write this. I am still very hurt by what happened to my girl in the last days of her life. But since they continue to send us emails and regular mail about our girl like she is still alive, I felt I needed to write this review. The pain has been unbearable. I don't want another pet owner to go through this. Our girl deserved better and Stone Cottage Veterinary Hospital's Dr. Marten's answer and inaction was completely UNACCEPTABLE. And the staff although nice, does nothing on their own. #HEARTBROKEN read more
