Impressive website and Facebook page. But, buyer beware. Mike is not what these site portray. PROJECT: Hang pre assembled IKEA cabinets in kitchen, attach counter tops,sink,cabinet doors,drawers and shelves. Kitchen size: 8'x 8' Price $500 to complete the project in one day,cash When Mike arrives, the project was spelled out and agreed upon. I was to leave him to work alone, and would stop by twice. Once on the way to work and on the way back to inspect and pay. The first visit looked ok.. although he said the ceiling was crooked which is why there was a crooked gab spacing the top of a cabinet. He was the "pro" so i took his word. We had a several phone calls throughout the day, discussing various topics, including whether to swap the sink out with a larger, two basin one or not. While at work, i fell ill and went home sick. So, my wife planned to take off from work to meet him, inspect work and give him $$. But, I received a call from Mike while he was on the road saying he had to leave early because he forgot about his sons' birthday and had no time to call us. I received a call from my wife as she poked her head in the unit and saw the sink wasn't installed and the place was a disaster.. Mike said he was missing a clip, even though there was a lowes 1 mile away, so it prevented him from completing the work. Wanting his cash right away, I had to meet him in the morning in a Target parking lot :/ .. I was still stick and unable to get to the unit to inspect the work. Looking at his FB and website, it looks like he's a man of his word and I could trust him. Weeks later, I had time to continue working on the unit. When arrived, I found crackheads living in the unit and all of my tools, lights, and anything else of value, missing.. The crackheads said they got in through back sliding door, which was open. The police confirmed there was no forced entry and windows were all locked and barred. So, the back door must've been left unlocked. Mike was the last person to use the back door when using his saw on the patio. The issues with the cabinet install were as follows: 1. unevenly mounted cabinets 2. Sink not installed ..the "missing" clips were there. 3. shelves not installed in any cabinets 4. Cabinet spacing for oven off by 1/8th inch, preventing oven from being installed -- All cabinets will need to be reinstalled or additional small cabinet to purchased/installed. 5. Upper and lower Cabinet spacing for refrigerator off by 1", allowing refridge to be installed but can't open door. -- All cabinets on side of kitchen will need to be uninstalled/reinstalled 6. Edge of lower Cabinets were partially installed on top of carpet by 1", making counter tops uneven and very difficult to replace carpet. -- Will need to unmount counter tops and cabinets to cut/remove carpet. 7. Cabinets over hang wall by 1" 8. Didn't install final cabinet over fridge 9. debris from cutting counter top, along with boxes/packaging from ikea cabinets were left in unit. This left a horrible mess. I have pictures of all of this, in case anyone would like to see this catastrophe. When all is said and done, most of the cabinets will need to be unmounted and remounted. one side will need to be completely redone, including removing track for upper cabinets and remounting, then re hanging cabinets. This will cost me considerably more than the $500 that was paid to this poser. These problems were something an entry level cabinet installer would know and account for. We're still in the recovery process, but we will be litigating Mike and his company. read more

I hired Veatch Custom Cabinetry to replace my worn out white kitchen cabinet doors. I ordered new maple shaker-style doors and soft close hardware and I had the doors professionally painted by a company recommended by Veatch Custom Cabinetry. I also hired Veatch CC to install the new hinges and doors. I painted my own cabinet boxes and I feel that the owner, Mike Veatch, went out of his way to make sure I was able to match the white paints. I really appreciated his help in matching the colors since whites can be tricky! Also on the day the doors were installed a couple of the doors were not painted to Mike's satisfaction he had them repainted without my having to ask him to. My kitchen cabinets look amazing and I would recommend Veatch Custom Cabinetry to anyone wanting to refresh their kitchen or for any other woodworking projects. I can't say enough good things about Mike and VCC. Mike helped us articulate and design a custom built-in cabinet for our bathroom with elements we didn't even know we wanted. The result is absolutely perfect and looks like it's been there since the house was built. From the initial sketch to the installation, Mike was flexible and accommodating throughout the whole process. He even took the time to come back and fix a small detail we discovered was out of place. I would recommend VCC to anyone looking for high quality products from a trustworthy company. Mike is a wannabe. He knows enough to be dangerous. We had him build a wall unit for us and the paint job was a disaster, he used the cheapest drawer guides made by man, the gaps between the drawers are quite large so you can see in the drawers when they are closed, there were a lot of blemishes in the surfaces, etc. Never hire this amateur again. read more
